Thomas J. Ober

Kennebunk
Thomas J. Ober, age 72 of Dunnhill Drive, died Friday, June 24, 2005 at his home.
He was born in Newport, RI on August 11, 1932, a son of Arthur J. and Minnie Blackwell Ober.
Thomas graduated from Falmouth High School in 1950.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
After his return from tour of duty, he worked as a Hydrographic Surveyor with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 33 years, retiring in 1987.
Mr. Ober was then self employed as a Hydrographic Surveyor for seven years.
He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Cape Arundel Golf Club for over 50 years. Tom was runner-up in the Maine State Amateur Championship, held at Cape Arundel Golf Club in 1959.
Tom was a longtime member of South Congregational Church in Kennebunkport where he served as a trustee for five years during the purchase and restoration of the Community House.
He also was a volunteer firefighter from 1956-1980 with the Kennebunkport Village Fire Company, and remained an honorary member to the present.
Tom served on the Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Wells Water District Board of Trustees, and also served on the Kennebunkport Sewer Committee for 10 years during its planning and installation.
During the last 10 years, Tom enjoyed winters at Happy Trails RV Resort in Surprise, Arizona, and traveling around the United States.
He is survived by his wife, Sharleen (Nedeau) Ober of Kennebunk; four daughters, Ellen Perkins of Phoenix, AZ, Frances LaPierre of Kennnebunk, Karen Searle of Kennebunk, and Kathleen Ober of Exeter, NH; two brothers, David Ober of Brunswick and John Ober of Tewksbury, MA; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Tom and his loving wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2005.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8pm Monday, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday.
Burial will be private at Arundel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Hospice of Southern Maine, 901 Washington Avenue, Suite 104, Portland, ME 04103 or to a charity of your choice.

Timothy Schulert died Sunday afternoon, August 28.
He was a son to Ruth and Arthur Schulert of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; Dad to Emily and Maya Schulert; and best friend and husband to Laurie McEachern of Kennebunk.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, September 3, at 3:00p.m. in the Carriage House at the Colony Hotel, Ocean Avenue, Kennebunkport.

Travis Allen Denbow

Rochester, NH
Travis Allen Denbow, 23, of Academy Street, died unexpectedly on Monday at Wentworth Douglas Hospital after becoming ill.
He was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on May 31, 1982, the son of Lyndon Lee and Linda Jean Tibbetts Denbow.
Travis was a roofer with Turner Roofing Company.
He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.

Calling hours are from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, at the McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main Street, South Berwick, Maine.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m.

Tyson William Goodwin, 20 yrs, a resident of Chick’s Crossing Road in Wells Branch died Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford from injuries sustained in a
motorcycle
accident in Acton, ME.
He was born in Biddeford, ME on December 11, 1984 a son of Christopher W. and Allison L. Dyer Goodwin.
He graduated from Wells High School in the class of 2003 and attended York County Community College of Wells.
He was employed by the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a Machinist.
Tyson enjoyed all outdoor activities including striper fishing,
hunting
, and snowmobiling. But most of all was his love for taking pride on maintaining his trucks and motorcycles. He was a loving, kindhearted son and brother and he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Tyson was predeceased by his grandfather Bradford Dyer.
Tyson is survived by his father Christopher W. Goodwin of Wells Branch, his mother Allison L. Goodwin of North Berwick, a brother Kyle J. Goodwin of Wells Branch, his parental grandparents Carl and Joan Goodwin of Wells Branch and his maternal grandmother Kathleen Stevens of Acton and several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday August 17, 2005 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel 67 Summer Street Kennebunk, Me where a funeral will be held 11 AM Thursday at the Chapel with the Reverend David Clark officiating.
Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wells Branch.

Walter G. Stanley

Walter George Stanley, 80 years of School Street, died Monday, August 15, 2005 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH.
Walter was born June 17, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of John and Marie Huddy Stanley.
After attending Philadelphia schools, Walter proudly served his country during WWII in the Marines.
Walter was a machinist by trade, working for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Pratt and Whitney of Hartford, CT, and the New Departure Company of Bristol, CT. He also served as Chief Financial Officer for Witches Cove Marina of Rye, NH for seven years.
Walter was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed collecting guns. He was also an avid reader and loved animals.
He is predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Fall Stanley.
Survivors include his daughters, Charlene M. Kiss and her husband Nelson of Vassalboro, ME, Ruthie Stanley and her companion Kenneth Whitehouse of Dover, NH, Pauline E. Grippo and her husband Donald of Windham, CT, and Priscilla Dalrymple and her husband Clifford of Lebanon, ME; his son, Paul M. Stanley and his wife Michele of Middletown, CT; his sister, Connie Gregoire of Somersworth, NH; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6-8 pm Tuesday, August 16 and from 10-11 AM Wednesday, August 17, at the McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main Street, South Berwick, ME, where a funeral service will follow at 11 AM Wednesday with Reverend Donna Muise officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen cemetery in Berwick, ME.

Wendell John Davis

Wendell John Davis, of Brownwood, Texas, died suddenly of a heart attack, on Wednesday, June 15th, 2005, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine.
Born in Claremont, New Hampshire, on May 16, 1932, he was the son of Clifford and Christina (Kennell) Davis.
Wendell graduated from Claremont High School and The University of New Hampshire with a degree in Agriculture, served the Army in Korea and returned to earn a second degree from UNH, in Engineering.
Married to Jean (Baras) of Dover, NH, in 1960, he worked for Eastern Air Devices before accepting a position with 3M Corporation where he worked until his retirement in 1997.
Wendell and Jean made many moves throughout their marriage developing lifetime friendships along the way in Milton, NH, Minnetonka, MN, Cynthiana, KY, Brownwood, TX, Weatherford, OK, Chelmsford, MA, White Bear Lake, MN, and Wimberley, TX before retiring to Lake Brownwood, TX. In his retirement, Wendell enjoyed working with his son, Tommy, as they established their heavy equipment rental company.
Predeceased by Jean in 1998, Wendell was fortunate to find love again and he is fondly remembered by his fiancé, Fran Case of Fort Myers, FL.
Wendell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Russell Cole of Kennebunk, ME; and his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kristi Davis of Brownwood, TX, his brother, Kenneth Davis of Meredith, NH, and sister, Vera Chellis of Meriden, NH, along with several nieces and nephews.
A gift to his grandchildren, Wendell provided for them a wonderful example of love, decency, humor and strong work ethics. Grampa will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by; Trey Davis of Brownwood, TX; Kimberly, PJ, Shelby Carlson and Andrew and Caroline Cole all of Kennebunk, ME.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005, 3 pm at The Bibber Memorial Chapel 67 Summer Street in Kennebunk, ME.
Private graveside services will be held in Claremont, NH.
