Kennebunkport, ME – Lynn M. Wiley, age 35 of Kennebunkport, died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Kennebunk Beach as a result of a surfing accident.
She was born in Oak Park, Illinois on July 27, 1968, a daughter of Bruce E. and Carolyn B. Dunham Wiley.
She graduated from Vestal High School in Vestal, NY in 1986 and had most recently attended the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
Lynn loved animals, was an avid surfer and enjoyed music, travel and studying language.
She is survived by her parents of Kennebunkport; three sisters, Laurel Wiley of Los Angeles, CA, Susan Wiley of Portland, and Kristina Estelle of Philadelphia.
A memorial service will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, April 22, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk with Rev. Carol Strecker officiating. If desired, please make donations in her memory to the Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 43, West Kennebunk, Maine 04094.

Madelyn V. Watson 94 years a resident of Summer Street Kennebunk died Sunday December 14, 2003 at the Kennebunk Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born in Kennebunk, Me on July 4, 1909 a daughter of Charles S. and Mary E. Tarbox Stevens and attended Kennebunk Schools.
Madelyn was employed by the Jones Diner and the Glen Mor Restaurant both of Kennebunk as waitress for over thirty –five years.
She was predeceased by her husband James E. Watson, a brother George F. Stevens and a sister Marie M. Drown.
She is survived by her son Alfred L. Adams of Charlotte, NC, a daughter Claire M. Adams of Los Angeles, CA. and two-step daughters Martha Gratton and Judith A Gorrie both of Derry, NH, and several grandchildren.
Private service will be held at the Convenience of the Family.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kennebunk.
Marguerite E. McKay

Marguerite E. McKay of Turbots Creek, Kennebunkport, died May 26, 2004 at Southern Maine Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born June 18, 1912 in Sommerville, MA, a daughter of George and Juliette (Caulstone) Killory.
She graduated from Somerville High School and Bryant Stratton Business College.
She worked for seventeen as a Secretary at the Naval Shipyard for the Production Officer. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, cooking, and reading.
She will be sadly missed by her family.
She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1971.
She is survived by her son John McKay and his wife Sally of Lyman; one granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Michael English; and two great-grandchildren, Phoebe and Jack, all of CA. She is also survived by a sister, Louise Connell of Cambridge, MA; a niece, Julie Kirzner of NH; and a nephew, Bob Connell of Cambridge, MA.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 29, 2004 in Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport.
Margaret E. Byrne

Margaret E. Byrne, 82 years, a resident of Log Cabin Road, Arundel, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford after a brief illness. She was the widow of John M. Byrne who died in 1992.
Mrs. Byrne was born in Biddeford, January 8, 1922, a daughter of Philip and Margaret Hill Pearson. She attended Arundel schools and graduated from Oak Grove School for Girls in Vassalboro, ME. She then attended and graduated from Guilford College in North Carolina where she received her teaching Degree.
Mrs. Byrne taught school in Arundel, Kennebunkport Village School, and South Portland. She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed traveling and cooking. She was very artistic in knitting and braiding rugs. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the Kennebunkport, ME chapter. For over thirty-five years, she wintered in Ft. Lauderdale and Melbourne, Florida.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Robert Pearson.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Salzillo and Pamela Harris; four grandchildren, Lisa Watson, Laurie Salzillo, Christopher Harris, and Susan Harris; a sister-in-law, Freda Pearson; and one nephew, Dale Pearson; all of Arundel.
Private services will be held at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk with Interment at Arundel cemetery in Kennebunkport, ME.

Marion M. Allen

Marion M. Allen, age 93 of Wells, died Friday, February 13, 2004 at the Sanford Health Care Facility.
She was born in Stetson, Maine on October 15, 1910 a daughter of Newton and Hattie Prescott Merrill.
Marion and her family moved to Wells from Hampden Highlands in 1952. They owned and operated the Green Lantern Motor Court on Route#1 in Wells for over 40 years.
The most valuable facet in her life was her family and friends. She was a loving “encourager”. Marion loved to sew, knit and crochet. All of her life, children were special to her so it was not surprising that she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Lester Earlan Allen. Five brothers, Everett, Ralph, Theodore, Harry and Bill; and two sisters, Olive and Louise, also predecease her.
Surviving are her son, Robert Allen of Haines City, FL; two daughters, Wilma Baggesen and her husband, Walter of Miami, FL, and Betty Hanson of Sanford, Maine; a brother, Clarence Merrill of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Stephen Allen, Jennifer Allen, Pamela De Varona, Bill Baggesen, Susan Baggesen, Kerry Hanson and Dianne Bowen; and nine great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 7-9p.m. Tuesday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road in Wells. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday at the United Congregational Church of Wells. Burial will be at the Ocean View cemetery in the spring.

Marjorie O' Connor

Marjorie Forbes (Arey) O’Connor, age 85 of Oak Bluff Road, died Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at the New England Rehabilitation Center in Portland.
She was born in Winchendon, Mass. On September 18, 1918, a daughter of Dr. Harold and Dr. Jean MacIntosh Arey.
She graduated from Gardner High School in Gardner, Mass. and Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Mass. Marjorie attended Colby College in Waterville and the University of New York in New Paltz from where she earned her B.S. Degree in Speech and Hearing Rehabilitation in 1972.
She worked as an R.N. at Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital and then served as a Nurse Rehabilitation Practitioner at the U.S. Veterans Administration Hospital in Castle Point, New York from where she retired in 1974 and moved to Kennebunk.
Marjorie was a member of St. David’s Church in Kennebunk and its Alter Guild, the Kennebunk Health Association. She was a Senior Citizen Volunteer in Southern Maine as well as a Red Cross Volunteer. She was active in the Community Center of the Lower Village of Kennebunk and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Gardner, Mass.
Her husband, Edward P. O’Connor died on June 12, 1990. She is also predeceased by her son, Carleton W. O’Connor; a sister, Barbara Ambler and a brother, Philip Arey.
She is survived by a daughter, Christina Rousseau of Stormville, N.Y; one brother, Kenneth Arey of Manchester, CT.; a sister, Charlotte Hoppe of Avon, CT. and three grandchildren, Justin Rousseau of Boston, Ma, Amanda Rousseau of Stormville, N.Y. and Brian O’Connor.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, February 13, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday February 14, 2004 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Kennebunk.
Burial will be at the Green Bower cemetery in Gardner, Mass.

Marjorie Strickland

Marjorie O. Strickland, age 79, resident of Intervale Road, Kennebunk died peacefully Monday Dec 29, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.
Marjorie was born in Springfield, MA December 10, 1924 a daughter of Charles D and Agnes M. (Vossler) O’Connell. She attended local schools and graduated from Classical High School in Springfield, MA.
She was employed for several years for the New England Tel & Tel and is a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She later became employed with Telstar Electronics for over twenty years. She was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church. Marjorie enjoyed her family with a great deal of Love and Affection.
She is predeceased by her husband Woodrow W. Strickland who died on Aug. 29, 1967.
She is survived by her three sons, Peter N. Strickland and his wife Heloise of Kennebunkport, Bruce A. Strickland of West Palm Beach, FL and Jon V. Strickland and companion Andrew S. Vold of Port Charlotte, FL, three daughters, Patricia A. Strickland and companion Roger A. Cote of Banner Elk, NC. Mrs. Henry (Sandra L.) Lopes, Jr. of New Port, RI, Lisa M. Strickland of Lake Worth, FL, two half daughters, Judith L. Kelly of Point Pleasant, NJ, and June M. Meyer of Newfield, NY, her brother, Charles D. O’Connell of Largo, Fl, her sister Dorothy G. O’Connell of Springfield, MA, two grandchildren Benjamin L. and Shelby A. Strickland of Kennebunkport.
Friends may call at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St, Kennebunk, ME. Friday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, Portland Rd., Kennebunk, ME. Saturday Jan 3, at 11AM with the Reverend Laurent Laplante officiating the Mass. Spring Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk, ME.
Marjorie’s family wishes to acknowledge with great appreciation the loving care from Beacon Hospice, especially Carol, Segrid, Ellie, and Trish in caring for their Mother.

Mary Brooks Morton

Mary Brooks Morton, age 89 of Sebago Lake Village, died Monday, June 28, 2004 at Springbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westbrook.
She was born in Passaic, N.J. on February 4, 1915, the daughter of Walter Stanley and Minnie Brooks Boynton.
She graduated from Smith College and had worked as a Librarian at the University of Southern Maine, Baxter Library in Gorham and the Kennebunk Public Library.
She was also a homemaker all of her life.
Her husband, Rutledge Morton, died September 9, 2000.
Surviving are a son, Dana Rutledge Morton of Biddeford Pool; four daughters, Linda B. Hoppe of Falmouth, Sarah E. Morton of Ellsworth, Susan B. Watson of Standish, and Mary L. Medina of Arundel; a sister, Barbara King of Brunswick; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
There will be a private burial for the immediate family.

Mary Josephine Gallucci

Kennebunk- Mary Josephine Gallucci, 66 years, a resident of Gendron Lane died April 20, 2004 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Mary was born in Lowell, MA on February 15, 1938 a daughter of John and Agnes Hogan Quinn. After graduating from high school, Mary went on to earn her B. S. in Education from the University of Lowell. She then went on to earn her Masters degree from Boston University. Mary taught school in Wilmington, MA for ten years, Peterborough, NH for two, and Lebanon, Me S.A.D. 60 for ten years. Mary also volunteered her time at Creative Work Systems teaching disadvantaged adults to read. In 1999 Mary received the Volunteer of the Year Award for her service.
Mary loved her family. She especially enjoyed the times spent with her grandson Bryan. She enjoyed helping people. She was always sending cards to people for all occasions just to let them know that others were thinking of them. She brought a lot of joy to those that knew her.
Mary is survived by her husband of 34 years, Vincent Gallucci; two daughters Laura and Paula Gallucci; three brothers William, John And James Quinn; her grandson Bryan and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, April 23 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, April 24 at St. Martha’s Church in Kennebunk with Father Laurent Laplante presiding. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery.
