Harold Vincent Desmond, Jr., 78, of Westminster, MD, died October 3, 2011 at home.
Born October 17, 1932 in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Harold Vincent Desmond, Sr. and Emeline Devlin Desmond. He was the husband of Mary C. Stenger Desmond whom he married
on October 15, 1955.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was an auditor for Reliance Insurance Company. He was a volunteer fireman for 16 years at the Wantagh Fire Department in NY where he served as captain. He belonged to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. John Roman Catholic Church, the League of MD Horseman's Club, and the Optimist Club of Gamber-Smallwood. He loved riding horses, spending time w/family and friends, and was very proud of his Irish Heritage.
Surviving besides his wife are children and spouses Jeanne M. and Michael Tighe of Sykesville, Patricia A. and Philip Nusbaum of Fayetteville, NC, Kathleen M. Desmond and Fiancee Mark Livesay of Westminster, Timothy Desmond of Hampstead, and Kevin P. and Amy Desmond of Elkton, brother Richard Desmond of Miami, FL, and 9 grandchildren, Kristin, Lindsey, Michael, Christopher, T. J., Ryan, Maggie, Erin and Emma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday St. John Roman Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with Fr. Lou Bianco officiating.

Constance Dobry, 91, of Westminster died early Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born August 2, 1920, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Wanda Litwinska Knasiak. She was the wife of the late Thomas John Dobry, who died in 1984.
She was a homemaker and had formerly worked as a waitress and dining hostess at the Institute of Notre Dame and the Lord Baltimore and Emerson Hotels in Baltimore. She had also worked for Western Electric, Broening Highway Division.
She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church and a previous member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
She enjoyed cooking, line dancing, crocheting, listening to polka music and spending time with her family.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Joseph and Tusha Dobry, Joseph Gerard Dobry, Stephen Joseph and Patricia Dobry, all of Westminster and Raymond Edward Dobry of Baltimore. She is also survived by granddaughters; Deborah Watters, Kelly Lee and Lisa Dobry, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings, Florence Potrzuski and Raymond, Joseph and Jerome Knasiak.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with Father Lawrence Adamczyk as celebrant. A private internment will be held on Monday at St. Stanislaus cemetery, Baltimore.

Raymond Howard Fendlay, 73, of Finksburg, MD, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born October 29, 1937 in Jones Creek, MD, he was the son of the late Norman Oscar and Nellie “Irene” Jackson Fendlay. He was the husband of Pauline Danko Fendlay.
He was a 1955 graduate of Manchester High School. He served in the Air Force from 1955-1959. He was a Programmer for Claims and Underwriting for an insurance company. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glyndon, where he served on the Hospitality Team and the Renew Group
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons and spouses Ray Alan and Robin Fendlay of Westminster, and Brent and Terry Fendlay of Dundalk. He was the brother-in-law of John and Ginny Danko of Hagerstown, Betty Marva of Ohio and Sue Mullen of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by grandchildren Brittany, Kelsey and Kyle Fendlay, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Robert and William Fendlay.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, where a Christian wake service will be held at 7:00 pm. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD. with Monsignor Lloyd Aiken as celebrant and Father Robert Marva, O.F.M.Cap as concelbrant. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.

Charles Edgar Dukehart, Jr., 89, of Westminster, died October 4, 2011 at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center.
Born July 11, 1922 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Charles Edgar Dukehart, Sr. and Sybil Dorsey Dukehart. He was the husband of Katherine C. Dukehart, his wife of 65 years.
He served in the Army during World War II from 1942-1945. He worked for the Baltimore-Ohio Railroad, the Chessie System. He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the Catholic War Veterans.
Surviving besides his wife are children and spouses Fran and Steve Rebuck of San Luis Obispo, CA, Kevin and Daphne Dukehart of Westminster, David J. Dukehart of Baltimore, Paul and Cris Dukehart of Abbottstown, PA, and Julianna and Barrie Graham of Novato, CA; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brother John Dukehart.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, where a Rosary Service will be performed by the Knights of Columbus. Please use Chapel Entrance.

Jacques Theophile Derasse, 90, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Westminster, died October 4, 2011 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born December 22, 1920 in Epermay, France, he was the son of the late Amedee and Yvonne Leherle Derasse. He was the husband of Jacqueline Langinier Derasse whom he married
August 16, 1943.
He was a French Professor at Western Maryland College, retiring in 1976. He and his wife had emigrated to the United States in 1962. They moved back to France in 1976 after his retirement and later returned to the US, living in Florida in 1993 until moving to Westminster in 2003.
He played the guitar and violin, loved oil and pastel painting and played tennis until 2007 and golf until 2009.
Surviving in addition to his wife is son and daughter-in-law Francois and Leta Derasse of Westminster; sister Marie-Louise Altamura of State College, PA; daughter-in-law Judith Derasse Wellstead of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren Michelle Corry of Maine and Eric Derasse of Long Island, NY. He also has 4 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a son Alain Derasse.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3–6 p.m. at the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
There will be a memorial service at a later date at McDaniel College and interment will be private.

Gary Lee Bynaker, 53, of Glenville, PA, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at home.
Born on June 25, 1958 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of Calvin and Doris Groft Bynaker of Westminster. He was the husband of the late Tammy Varner Bynaker.
He was a mechanic with Buckingham Auto. He was a graduate of Westminster High School, class of 1976. He liked detailing cars and was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his parents is son and daughter-in-law Brian Michael and Stephanie Bynaker of Hanover, PA; step-daughter Brandy Mechalske and husband Ryan of Hanover, PA; sister Linda Bynaker and her companion Bruce McVay of FL; sister and brother-in-law Judy and Dan Haines of Union Bridge; sister Gwen Bell and companion Bruce VanLeuvan of Hanover, PA; grandchildren Kirsten, Amber, and Brooke; niece Calie McVay; and many friends and family. He was predeceased by son Benjamin Kyle Bynaker.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Jimmie Schwartz officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Branch cemetery.

Shirley Barnhart Davidson, 74, of Westminster died October 11, 2011 at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born on February 21, 1937 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Wilbur and Norma LaMotte Barnhart. She was the wife of Allan Davidson for almost 54 years, whom she married
November 10, 1957.
She was a Media Center secretary at Westminster Senior High School for the Carroll County Board of Education, and she retired in 2000 after 25 years. She was a 1955 Westminster High School graduate and then attended the Baltimore Business School.
She enjoyed dining out with school and church friends, and serving her church in various capacities.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters Wendy Cesca and husband Richard of Westminster, and Sara Davidson of Owings Mills, and grandchildren Nikki Jarvis and Joseph Cesca.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at Sandy Mount United Methodist Church, 2101 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, with a visitation prior from 10-12, with Reverend William Boyer officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Mount cemetery.

Amy Durene Ratajczak, 38, of Colorado, formerly of Westminster died April 14, 2012 at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo, Co, as a result of heart complications.
Born March 31, 1974 in Towson, she was the daughter of Margaret E. Vitale of Westminster and the late Raymond J. Ratajczak, Jr.
She attended St. John Catholic School and was a 1992 graduate of Westminster High School. She had attended Carroll Community College and Frostburg University.
She was an Account Executive for Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing in Baltimore.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing and traveling to the beach with her family.
Surviving in addition to her mother is a sister Nancy A. Ratajczak of Perry Hall. Also survived by aunts and cousins.
She was predeceased by grandparents Raymond J., Sr. and Virginia R. Ratajczak and James H. and Mary V. Rothenburg.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD 21157, with Father Louis Bianco officiating. Inurnment will be in Meadow Branch cemetery, Westminster.

Woodard Alexander “Woody” Roberts, Sr., 94, of Westminster, formerly of Reisterstown, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Westminster.
Born October 11, 1917, in LeGore, he was the son of the late Woodard W. and Dessie V. Grimes Roberts. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Josephine Roberts, who died March 17, 1999.
He was a WWII veteran serving in the United Stated Army from 1940 until 1945. He was a staff manager for United Insurance Company, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Church of the Open Door, the Super 60's group at the church and sang in the church choir.
He enjoyed attending church and minstering to others.
Surviving are son Woodard A. Roberts, Jr. and wife Jacqulin of Westminster, daughter JoAnn Larrimore and husband Thomas of Timonium, sister Minnie Deangelis, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by daughters Janet Knight and Donna Harmon.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. John Campbell officiating. Interment with Military honors will be held in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
