Stewart H. Welsh, age 68, of Woodbine, died Sunday May 15, 2005 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD.
He was born December 6, 1936 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Robert B. and Florence Ridgley Welsh.
He was the husband of Betty M. Welsh (nee Williams) his wife for 41 years.
He was a carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed Hunting and Fishing and his family. He served in the US Army.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are Kevin S. Welsh and long time friend David Dix of Woodbine, Keith A. Welsh of Woodbine, Kurt E. and daughter in law Kim Welsh of Woodbine, two granddaughters Brandi and Nicole Welsh of Woodbine, three nieces: Jalna, Blythe and Lori all of Westminster and several aunts and cousins.
Predeceased by brother the late Emmerson Welsh.
Graveside Service will be held Wednesday May 18, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at Pleasant Ridge cemetery, Bethel & Woodbine Road, Woodbine, MD with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating.

Rev. John Olan Price, age 70, of Seaford, DE, died Monday May 23, 2005, at Methodist Manor House, Seaford, DE.
He was born December 7, 1934 in Upperco, Maryland ( Baltimore County ), the son of the late John Franklin Price and the late Myra Cole Price.
He was the husband of Ruby Hanson Price of Seaford, DE, married
February 2, 1958 at Mt. Zion U.M. Church, Finksburg, MD ; lived 1958-59 Columbus, Ohio before Returning to Maryland.
Education- Franklin High School-1953, BA/Major in Religion, Houghton College, Houghton, NY-1958, Master of Religion Wesley Theological Seminary Washington, DC-1963.
He was a United Methodist Clergy for Baltimore Washington Conference United Methodist, position Held Elder for 39 years retired on June 30, 1999. 1958-1959 Minister of Youth, Livington U.M. Church, Columbus, Ohio, 1960-63 Pipe Creek Charge, Westminster, MD, 1963-66 St. James U.M. Church, West Friendship, MD, 1966-70 First U.M. Church, Lonaconing, MD, 1970-77 Darlington Charge, Darlington, MD, 1977-89, Taylorsville Charge, Mt. Airy, MD, 1989-94 Centennial Memorial U.M. Church, Frederick, MD, 1994-95 Providence U.M. Church, Monrovia, MD, 1995-99 Severn U.M. Church, Severn, MD. 200-2002- Wilmington Trust Bank-ATM Demonstrator.
He was a member of the Lions from 1970-1995; President of Darlington Recreation Council, Harford County Department of Parks, Darlington Elem. School PTA, Delegate of Harford County, PTSA, Director and President of Carroll County Unit American Cancer Society, Chaplain for Winfield Community Fire Dept. and Carroll County Fireman’s Association; Volunteer and active participant at St. John’s U.M. Church, Seaford, DE.; served on several commissions and committees and boards of the Baltimore Washington Conference during his 39 years of Ministry, served on Board of Directors and as secretary of the United Methodist Historical Society; served on Board of Directors and secretary for the Epworth Federal Credit Union.
Surviving in addition to his wife is son Timothy D. Price of Libertytown, MD, Daughter Loretta P. Ewell and husband Gary of Millsboro, DE., daughter Linda A. Price and Robert S. McEwen of Richmond, VA, and daughter Karen P. Koch and husband Jeffrey of Reston, VA.
Also survived by 3 grandchildren; Michael and Stephanie Ewell and Nathan Koch; Sister Ruth P. Brown of Manchester, MD, Sister Emmalie P. Bolte and husband Vernon of Reisterstown, MD and sister Georgianna P. Harvey and husband Donald of Hanover, PA.

Stella Mae Alder (nee Parks), age 92, of Mt. Airy, Died Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD.
She was born January 18, 1913 in Powell, VA the daughter of the late Ira Franklin Parks and the late Lavada Lane Parks.
She was a seamstress for the Mt. Airy sewing factory. She was general employee for a drugstore. She was a caregiver to her family.
She was the wife of the late Calvin James Alder.
She was the mother of Philip W. Alder and wife Mitzie and the late John C. Alder.
She was the sister of Frank and Ellis and Juanita Parks and half-sister of Mildred Mullins and Hazel Plantiko.
Predeceased by brothers; Clyde G., Roy and Edward Parks; and Sister Elizabeth Gibson
Also survived by 7 grandchildren; Keith W. Alder, Polly Luckabaugh and husband Larry, James C. Alder and wife Wanda, Ronald, Terry and Steve Alder, and Donna Humphries and Husband Karl; and great grandchildren; Crystal, Dwayne, and Brittany Luckabaugh and Brian and Stephanie Alder and numerous other great and great great grandchildren..
Funeral Service Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mt. Airy, Rt. 27 & Center Street extended, with the Bishop Charles Schuman officiating.

Elsie Thompson Stanton, 68 of Westminster formerly of Taylorsville, MD, died Tuesday May 31, 2005 at her home in Westminster. She was the spouse of the late Stanley T. Stanton, Sr.
She was born December 24, 1936 in Carroll County, MD the daughter of the late Freeman Thompson and late Lillian Fogle Thompson.
Mrs. Stanton was a retired custodian for Carroll County Public Schools. She enjoyed Embroidery and when she was able working in her flower garden.
She is survived by step-children: Stanley T. Stanton, Jr. of Severn, MD Linda S. Stanton of Baltimore and Ruth E. Wright of Laurel. 3 Step-Grandchildren and 1 Step Great-Grandson. Sisters: Martha Ewell of Clearwater FL, Brenda Sharrer of Taneytown, Annabelle Bales of Hanover, PA and Fay Fields of Mt. Airy, MD Brother: William L. Thompson of Hampstead. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by Sister: Betty A. Welsh-Schmidt.

He was born August 15, 1918 in Eldersburg, MD The son of the late Fulton Roy Slagle and the late Burnice Bertha Slagle (nee Barnes).
He was a Farmer and a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a member of Lisbon U.M. Church in Lisbon, MD.
He was the husband of Mary S. Slagle (nee Hurt) of Woodbine
He was the father of Sarah Fitzgerald and her husband John of Valley Lee, MD, Paul D. Slagle and wife Sharon A. of Woodbine and Doris S. Donaldson of Woodbine.
Dear brother of Fred B. Slagle of Lakewood, NJ, Mildred Alexander of Taneytown, MD and the late Millard F. Slagle.
Loving grandfather of Ann Laigle, Jil Howard, Joy Bowes, David Slagle, Aaron Slagle, Carole Donaldson and Michael Donaldson.
Also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 6, 2005 at 1:30 PM at Lisbon U.M. Church, 15875 Frederick Road, Lisbon with the Rev. Lisa Bandel-Sparks of Lisbon U.M. Church in Lisbon officiating.
Interment will be in McKendree Church cemetery

She was the wife of the late Raymond G. Bowers.
She was a housewife and a member of St. Marks on the Hill Episcopal Church.
She was the mother of Bruce Bowers and his wife Stacey of Eldersburg and Kimberly Bowers of Randallstown.
Also surviving are grandson Timothy Bowers and granddaughters Stephanie, Sarah, and Samantha Bowers all of Alpena, MI.
Funeral service will be held Monday June 6, 2005 at 11:00 AM at St. Marks on the Hill Episcopal Church, 1620 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD with Rev. William M. Dunning officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

He was a construction Superintendent with Whiting-Turner Contracting Co.
He was the husband of the late Virginia Marie Baker (nee Lages).
He was the father of David C. Baker, Diane B. Garro and Dale R. Baker.
Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
