Carroll “Ike” Henry Johnson, age 65, of Finksburg, MD. Died Saturday January 10, 2004 at his home.
He was born September 7, 1938 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late James Carroll Gamber and the late Katherine F. Johnson Gamber.
He was the husband of Jean May Gamber Johnson for 45 years.
He was a security guard for Pinkerton before transferring to security guard at Carroll Community College.
Survived by son and daughter in law James & Rebecca Johnson of Westminster, son and fiancé Henry H. Johnson and Linda Boulin of Sykesville, son: Ronnie L. Johnson of Gamber, Daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Larry Gibbs of Westminster.
Brother - John Johnson of Taneytown and sister- Patti A. Martin of Taneytown, Brother- James William Gamber of Finksburg.
Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday January 14, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. John Thompson of Bethel Baptist Church in Reisterstown officiating.
Interment will be in Millers U.M. cemetery, Hampstead, MD

Robert E. Dayhoff, age 73, of Woodbine, Died Tuesday January 13, 2004, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD
He was born January 9, 1931 in Mt. Airy, MD the son of Margaret Wright (nee Dayhoff) of Sykesville.
He was the husband of Evelyn R. Dayhoff (nee Evans) of Woodbine.
He was a retired carpenter for Johns Hopkins (APL). He was a member of Morgan Chapel U.M. Church in Woodbine. He was a member of the Mt. Airy American Legion Post #191 and a Past Master of Mt. Airy Prudence Masonic Lodge #190 A.F & A.M.
He was the father of Scott B. Dayhoff and wife Linda of Winfield and Douglas J. Dayhoff of Westminster and friend Andrea Gray.
Dear brother of Sharon Franklin of Mt. Airy, Shelva Smith of Frederick and Betty Beutgen of Florida.
Loving grandfather of Megan, Evan and Joshua Dayhoff.

John Donald Barnes 86, of Mt. Airy, MD

Died Sunday January 18, 2004 at Lorien Nursing Home of Mt. Airy.
He was the spouse Beulah Brandenburg Barnes of Mt. Airy, MD
Mr. Barnes was born October 15, 1917 in Woodbine, MD the son of the late Walter S. and Annie M. Davis Barnes.
He was a Member of American Legion Gold Star Post 191 of Mt. Airy, MD and Served during WWII in the US Navy. He was a truck driver for 33 years with Baltimore-Pittsburgh Company.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Virginia Franklin of Gary Minnesota, and numerous other family members. He is preceded in death by a brother the late Raymond Barnes and a sister, the late Clara Zepp.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday January 21, 2004 11:00 AM at Mt. Olivet cemetery, 515 S. Market St. Frederick, MD 21701

Died Sunday January 18, 2004 at Carroll Hospital Center.
She was born September 30, 1961 in Hickory, WV the daughter of the late John Benjamin and Mary Juanita Maul Robinson.
Ms. Robinson was a retired Nail Technician and a former employee of Economy Distribution Warehousing.
She is survived by Companion, James W. Buhl of Finksburg, Sisters: Robin Balsamo of Essex, Anita Robinson of Brooklyn Park, Lisa Robinson of Pikesville and Leslie Grimes of Kingsville.
She is also survived by Foster Mother, Lorraine Giordano of Glen Burnie.
Funeral Services will be conducted at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME, 1212 WEST OLD LIBERTY RD. WINFIELD, MD 21784, on Wednesday January 21, 2004 at 10 AM.
Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD
Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Burrier-Queen funeral Home.
Lee Mace Willey, Jr. 70, of Granite, MD

Died Sunday January 18, 2004 at Westminster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Willey was the spouse of the late Lois Ellen Dennis Willey and currently the spouse of Lennie Smith.
He was born September 8, 1933 in Dundalk, MD the son of the late Lee Mace Willey, Sr. And Late Vida Marcella Mettee Willey.
He was retired Electrician from Bethlehem Steel. He served in the US Army as a Cook during the Korean War. Mr. Willey was an Elder at Granite Presbyterian Church. He was also an Avid Woodworker and Woodcarver.
Surviving are Son: Lee Mace Willey, III of Fairbanks, Alaska, Son and Daughter-in-law Michael and Mary Willey of Hampstead. 5 Grandchildren: Casey, Debbie, Zach, Zeke, and Eli Willey, Brother : Ishmael Willey of Dundalk. Preceded in death by daughter: Julia Kim Willey and Sister: Betty Lee Matthai.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday January 21, 2004 2:00 Pm at Granite Presbyterian Church, 10637 Old Court Rd. Woodstock, MD 21163 with the Rev. Jan Trammell-Savin officiating.
Interment will be Private.

Died Thursday January 22, 2004 at Northwest Hospital Center.
He was the spouse of Barbara A. Nevel (nee Longenberger)
Mr. Nevel was born December 18, 1925 in Williamsport, PA the son of the late John E. And Bertha Susan Owens Nevel. Mr. Nevel was Founder and President of Car-Vel Sales and Service working in the Petroleum Industry for over 35 years. Mr. Nevel was a WWII Veteran Serving in the US. Air force as a Tail Gunner in the 8th AF 452 Bomb Group @ Depham Green England and Flew 31 Missions. Mr. Nevel loved family, Music, Books and his many friends. He was an avid collector of Clown Figurines. Mr. Nevel was a member of B.P.O.E 173 of Williamsport, PA and the American Legion of Williamsport, PA.
Surviving besides his wife are Children: Kevin J. Nevel of Belair, Bill Nevel of Sykesville, Keith Nevel of Alpharetta, GA, Susan Goodlaxson of Towson, Marilyn Cheramie of Marrero, LA, Brother: Fenton Nevel of Williamsport, PA

Glenn Thomas Pennington, Jr., age 54, of Mt. Airy, formerly of Gaithersburg, died Friday January 23, 2004 at his home.
He was born February 12, 1949 in Pulaski, VA, the son of Glenn Thomas Pennington, Sr. of Dublin, VA and the late Grace Virginia Pennington (nee Cox)
He was a Truck Driver for J.M. Dorsey. He was a bus driver for 15 years for Montgomery County Public Schools. He was in the Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by dearest love of 31 years Carole Lamb of Mt and her children; Irma & David Johnson & family of Woodbine, and Karen and Ricky Colson & Family of Mt. Airy.
Brother of Douglas Pennington of Bumpass, VA, Dickie Pennington of Dublin, VA, Larry Pennington of Dublin, VA, and Gilbert Pennington of Dublin, VA.
Also survived by 2 nieces and 4 nephews.

Mrs. Edith Mae Simms (nee Thomas), 78 of Mt. Airy, Maryland died January 28, 2004 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Walkersville, Maryland.
Edith was born May 25, 1925 in Fountain Mills, Frederick County, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Elsie Monroe Zeigler and Late Mervin Thomas.
Edith was the wife of James A. Simms, Sr. of Mt. Airy They were married
for 56 years. She was a housewife, enjoyed watching TV, reading and cooking. Member of Warren U.M. Church and Myra Grand Order of Eastern Star P.H.A. #62.
Surviving in addition to her husband are eight children, Ernest Thomas of Mt. Airy, MD, Elise Dorsey and husband Leon of New Windsor, MD, Nancy Myers and husband Raymond of Olney, MD, Mary Chaney and husband John of New Market, MD, Shelia Simms and friend Adlar Anderson of Germantown, MD, James Simms, II of Germantown, MD, Ernestine Simms-Kigh of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Shirley Simms of Mt. Airy, MD. One brother, Sterling Zeigler, one sister, Helen Dorsey. Also, she leaves to mourn are a host of dedicated and loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild, brothers’-in-law, sisters’-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Edith was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Burroughs and Madeline Zeigler; two brothers, Ulysses Zeigler and Douglas (Jim Boy) Williams; two daughters-in-law, Veronia Simms and Betty Thomas; and one son-in-law, Carvel Kigh; and one grand-son, Matthew Simms.
Family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD. Funeral services begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 3, 2004 at Calvary U.M. Church, 403 South Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD. Pastor Sharon Gibson will officiate. Interment will be at the Lake View Memorial Park, 2724 Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD.

David R. Tignor, Sr., age 62, of Granite, died Saturday January 31, 2004 at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
He was born July 13, 1941 in Howard County, MD the son of Freda H. Tignor (nee Affeldt) of Eldersburg and the late Grady Thomas Tignor.
He was a retired Steel Worker Machinist for Local Union #12 and he loved wood working and gardening.
He was the husband of Mary Ann Tignor (nee Pickett) of Granite.
He was the father of David Randall Tignor, Jr. of Finksburg, Gregory Allen Tignor and wife Aileen of Glen Rock, PA, Connie Marie Bettendorf and husband Robert of Union Bridge, Brian Kevin Tignor and Wife Jamie of Sykesville, Steven Bradley Tignor and wife Tambrey of Westminster and the late Brandon Edward Tignor.
Brother of Donald M. Tignor of Pasadena, S. Jean Edmondson of Eldersburg, Sharon L. Jordan of Eldersburg and the late Ruby Lee and late Barbara A. Tyler.
Grandfather of David Ray, Nickolas Cody, Matthew Jacob, Kandace Brooke, Jennifer Marie, Megan Rose and Alexander Mendoza.
