Teckla Robine
Teckla Robine, 95, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Colton Villa Nursing Center in Hagerstown.
Born April 28, 1903, in Lilly, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William David and Rose Virginia Farren Robine.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was a retired pharmacy clerk.
She is survived by a nephew, William J. Sherry of Aberdeen, Md.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Penrod.
Services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Norris M. Charles
Norris Maxim Charles, 74, of 2 Broadway, Hagerstown, died Thursday, June 18, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Nov. 23, 1923, in Big Spring, Md., he was the son of the late Frederick L. and Mary McKinsey Charles.
He was a 1940 graduate of Clear Spring High School. He attended Hagerstown Junior College and the University of Maryland.
He was employed as co-operator of Mike's Tavern, Falling Waters, W.Va. Previously, he was an inspector with several companies and the state of Maryland.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan. He later joined the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by two sisters, Jean Swope of Clear Spring and Helen Ludwig of Hagerstown; and one brother, Joe Charles of Catonsville, Md.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bernhard Charles.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. His body has been donated as an anatomical gift.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
Oneda L. Hammond
Oneda Louise Hammond, 77, of 21704 Black Rock Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at her home.
Born June 27, 1920, in Myersville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Sylvester J. and Ethel R. Rowe Palmer Sr.
She was a Christian.
She is survived by her husband, Richard I. Hammond; two daughters, Barbara L. Hammond of Black Rock Road, Hagerstown, and Nancy E. Shank of Smithsburg; three sons, Richard L. Hammond of Seattle, Donovan G. Hammond Sr. of Williamsport and Robert N. Hammond of Black Rock Road, Hagerstown; two sisters, Virginia Lewis and Edna Howlett, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Sylvester Palmer Jr. of Hagerstown; three granddaughters; and three grandsons.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Bowman; and one brother, Merle Palmer.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Jonathan D. Laye will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
A family visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Phillip H. Cross
Phillip Henry Cross, 57, of 435 George St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 20, 1941, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Clarence Lafayette and Elinor Elizabeth Thompson Cross.
He was employed by Fountain Head Country Club.
He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Renee Johnson of Maugansville; six sisters, Julia Traynham, Josephine Traynham and Martha Smith, all of Baltimore, Gloria Harris and Anna Adams, both of Hagerstown and Jeanne V. Johnson of Maugansville; one grandson; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Leo Cross, Charles Miner Cross and Clarence Lafayette Cross Jr.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. James Irvin Sr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Oneda Louise Hammond, 77, of 21704 Black Rock Road, Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, is survived by a son, Robert W. Hammond of Black Rock Road, Hagerstown.
Lottie V. Mayhue
Lottie Virginia Mayhue, 91, of 301 Brookline Avenue, Hagerstown, died Friday, June 19, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 1, 1907, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James and Louisa Wiles Sprankle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick M. Mayhue.
She was a member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, James F. Mayhue of Hagerstown; one grandson, Justin Mayhue of Hagerstown; one great-granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Raymond Lytle will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Agnes C. Crowl
BOONSBORO - Agnes Catherine Crowl, 88, of 704 N. Main St., died Thursday, June 18, 1998, at Clearview Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 15, 1909, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Carmie B. and Edna D. Smith Hutzell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Crowl, in 1968.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Boonsboro Ambulance and Rescue Co. 69.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley I. Ferguson; one sister, A. Irene Welty, both of Boonsboro; one nephew; and one cousin.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. John W. Zsittnik will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. on Monday.
Mark D. Brawner
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Mark Douglas Brawner, 46, of 17 W. E St., died Thursday, June 18, 1998, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born April 6, 1952, in Frederick, he was the son of Dennis Eugene and Delores Conner Brawner of Brunswick.
He was a 1970 graduate of Brunswick High School.
He was a custodian at Brunswick High School for the past 28 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church at Brunswick.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Debra Russell Brawner; one daughter, Tracie Ann Brawner at home; one son, Troy Alan Brawner at home; two sisters, Vicki Himes of Knoxville, Md. and Tami Nick of Brunswick; two brothers, Kevin Brawner of Brunswick and Brian Brawner of Frederick; nieces and nephews, including a niece and godchild, Ashley Nicole Nick; and a close friend, Welthey Morsberger.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ferris and Ellen Brawner; and maternal grandparents, Willie and Marie Conner.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Brownsville Church of Brethren, Brownsville, Md. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Reformed Cemetery, Knoxville, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Ethel F. Evans
BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. - Ethel F. Fisher Evans, 87, of Blairsville and formerly of 11860 Gher Road, Waynesboro, Pa., died Friday, June 12, 1998, in Blairsville.
Born March 2, 1911, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry S. and Sudie Mentzer Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Evans, in 1970.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, where she was a member of United Methodist Women.
She was a member of Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary; BPO Elks Lodge 731; and Ladies Auxiliary of Waynesboro.
She is survived by one son, Keith W. Evans of Blairsville, with whom she lived; and one granddaughter.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 6 W. Second St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Jay E. Zimmerman will officiate.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
