Richard A. Kline Sr.
KEYMAR, Md. - Richard "Dick" Allen Kline Sr., 55, of Good Intent Road, died Friday, April 17, 1998, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born Jan. 27, 1943, in Woodsboro, Md., he was the son of the late Ray R. Kline and Louise E. Fogle Kline.
He was a member of Walkersville (Md.) High School class of 1961 and was past president of the Walkersville Alumni Association.
He retired in 1996 as a salesman for Frederick Trading Co. after more than 25 years. He owned and operated My Choice Farm in Keymar, where he bred and raised milking and beef Shorthorn cattle.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He was a member of Haugh's Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Ladiesburg, Md.
He was president of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia Milking Shorthorn Society. He was a member of the Maryland Shorthorn Association, the American Shorthorn Association and The American Milking Shorthorn Society, for which he served several terms on the national board of directors. He was a past member of New Midway Fire Co. and ran calls with Rocky Ridge Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife, Susan M. Eyler Kline; one daughter, Karen L. Flohr of Emmitsburg, Md.; two sons, Gregory M. Kline of Severna Park, Md., and Rodney L. Kline of Sabillasville, Md.; one sister, Kay Ensor of Woodsboro, Md.; two brothers, Dale Kline of Williamsport and Dennis Kline of Woodsboro; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard "Rick" Allen Kline Jr.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville. The Rev. Robert E. Steinke and Mark Torkelson will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Julie G. Wemple
UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Julie Garber Wemple, 27, of 8916 Dollyhyde Road, died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Sept. 5, 1970, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Frank E. Garber Sr. of Woodsboro, Md., and Linda Adams Shifflet of Union Bridge.
She was a 1988 graduate of Linganore High School and 1992 graduate of Towson State University.
She was an accountant with Health Care Financing Administration, Woodlawn, Md.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Scott Wemple; her stepfather, Ed Shifflett of Union Bridge; a sister, Becky Garber of Frederick, Md.; a stepsister, Shannon Aleshire of Woodsboro; a stepbrother, Lee shifflett of Frederick; paternal grandparents, Roy and Katy Peters of Frederick; maternal grandmother, M. Isabel Adams of Middletown, Md.; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, LeRoy A. Adams.
Services will be held Wednesday at noon at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call today from noon until 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight, and at the church one hour prior to service on Wednesday.

Mabel P. Easterday
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Mabel P. Easterday, 92, of Boynton Beach and formerly of Sharpsburg, died on Thursday, April 16, 1998.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Easterday of Boynton; one son, Robert Easterday of Lugoff, S.C.; two sisters, Mary Hain of Reading, Pa., and Alice Stine of Boyce, Va.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Joel E. Clayton
TEMPLE, Texas - Joel E. Clayton, 24, of Temple, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Born Dec. 5, 1973, in Killeen, Texas, he was the son of Rick and Sue Hykes Clayton, of Temple and formerly of Smithsburg.
He was a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in Austin, Texas.
He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sally Toombs Clayton; his sister, Amy Clayton Hunt of Moffat, Texas; paternal grandmother, Virginia Clayton Brown of Smithsburg; maternal grandmother, Betty Hughes Eakin; paternal step-grandfather, Richard A. Brown; maternal step-grandfather, C.D. Eakin of Temple, Texas; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant son.
Services were at Lakeview Baptist Church. He was buried in Roberts Cemetery in Troy, Texas.
Rosannah V. Hoover
Rosannah Virginia Hoover, 83, of 132 S. Valley Drive, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 11, 1914, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Mabel G. Stouffer Beard.
Her husband, Joseph H. Hoover, died in 1968.
She was employed in the housekeeping department of Washington County Hospital, retiring in 1976.
She attended Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda C. Hoover of Hagerstown; one son, Howard R. Hoover of Hagerstown; and one sister, Anna C. Delosier of Hagerstown.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Cora V. Peck
MARTINSBURG - Cora Viola Peck, 91, of Martinsburg, died Monday, April 20, 1998, at City Hospital.
Born July 22, 1906, in Hampshire County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sallie Cooper Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Richard Peck.
She was a member of Winchester Avenue Christian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Marshall Peck and Wayne Peck, both of Martinsburg.
She was preceded in death by one son, Melvin Richard Peck; and one sister, Bertha Crim.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Douglas J. Holliday will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Verley S. Burleson
Verley Snow Burleson, 96, of 15326 National Pike, died Monday, April 20, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 11, 1901, in Plumtree, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Findley and Eva Burleson Love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Clark Burleson, in 1969.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by one son, Norman Burleson of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Golf Burleson and Arthur Burleson; three sisters; and one brother.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Dennis Whitmore will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Isabel F. Moser
BOONSBORO - Isabel Ford Moser, 79, of 7541 Old National Pike, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 9, 1919, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Blanche L. Itnyre Ford.
Her husband, Herman Kenneth Moser, died in 1980.
She retired from Londontown Corp. in Boonsboro, after 25 years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Boonsboro.
She also was a member of the South County Democratic Club and AARP.
She is survived by one daughter, Kay C. Moser of Boonsboro; two sons, Bernard L. Moser of Boonsboro and Lynden F. Moser of Hagerstown; one sister, Frances L. Everline of Boonsboro; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice M. Wolfe and Jean G. MacDonald; and three brothers, Marion Ford, Hugh Ford and Lloyd Ford.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Boonsboro Cemetery. The Rev. Joseph I. Donovan III will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Maxine E. Rice
ROHRERSVILLE - Maxine Elizabeth Rice, 71, of 4639 Locust Grove Road, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at her home.
Born Aug. 24, 1926, in Gapland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Welby and Mary A. Mullendore Holder.
She was employed at Roxbury Correctional Institution in Hagerstown and formerly was employed by Londontown Corp. in Boonsboro for 25 years.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Rohrersville, and was a member of the Fidelis Class and a former choir member, Sunday school teacher and pianist.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie L. Sprecher and Randy K. Humphries, both of Hagerstown; one son, Ricky L. Rice of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Carolyn Boyce and the Rev. Marvin Kline will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Rohrersville.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
