Vicky L. Austin

HICKORY, Md. - Vicky Lee Austin, 30, of Hickory, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at her home.

Born Dec. 16, 1967, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., she was the daughter of Allen Harry Austin of Manassas, Va., and Linda Mae Stouffer Austin of Coconut Creek, Fla.

She attended Coconut Creek High School.

She was employed at Watson's Restaurant in Frederick, Md., before moving to Hickory.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her stepmother, Susan Austin of Manassas, Va.; two brothers, Bruce A. Austin of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Brian K. Austin of Coconut Creek, Fla.; three aunts; four uncles; maternal grandfather, Charles Stouffer; and a special friend, Richard Rosecky of Hickory.

Her daughter, Jessica Elaine Morgan, also died Monday, April 13, 1998.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at Harmony Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Myersville, Md. Pastor Dan Goddard will officiate.

The family will meet friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville.

Norma G. Lowman

WILLIAMSPORT - Norma Glenn "Glennie" Lowman, 94, formerly of Williamsport, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at McKendree Manor in Hermitage, Tenn.

Born Sept. 23, 1903, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Minnie Munson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Richard Lowman, in 1971.

She and her husband owned and operated Lowman's 5 & 10 store in Williamsport, from 1939 to 1954.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Williamsport.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, Hagerstown chapter. She served 12 years as a volunteer at Homewood Retirement Center.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann Feaster of Brentwood, Tenn., and Betsy Deal of Williamsport; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and one grandson.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Williamsport. The Rev. Greg Martin will officiate.

Richard C. Blair

HAGERSTOWN - Richard C. Blair, 78, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Feb. 29, 1920, in Indian Springs, he was the son of the late Russell S. and Venette R. Grosh Blair.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris L. McNamee Blair, in 1974.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was employed with New York Central Iron Works in Hagerstown and worked one year for Bester & Long. He was a farmer for 28 years and was a custodian for the Washington County Board of Education until his retirement in 1984.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lorraine Blair of State Line, Pa., and Dixie Lee Blair of Hagerstown; one step-daughter, Nellie Craft of Hagerstown; two sisters, Ruth Combs of Orlando, Fla., and Edith Sword of Clear Spring; four brothers, Ted Blair, Robert Blair, Harry Blair and Ray Blair, all of Hagerstown; and three step-grandchildren, Gary Lee, Jason and Carrie Ann Craft.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Reiff; and one brother, Rollin Blair.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. David Sword will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the John R. Marsh Cancer Center, 11110 Medical Campus Road, Hagerstown, Md. 21742; or to Hospice of Washington County, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Lillian E. Lapole

BOONSBORO - Lillian Elizabeth Getridge Lapole, 73, of 204 St. Paul St., died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at the home of her daughter, Lana K. Rand, in Rohrersville.

Born April 12, 1925, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Marion Arthur "Ott" and Clara Mae Callen Getridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Lapole, in 1993.

She was a homemaker.

She attended Christian Holiness Church in Gapland.

She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of Boonsboro Volunteer Fire Co.

She is survived by two daughters, Lana K. Rand of Rohrersville and Clara A. Morgan of Keedysville; three sons, Edward Wayne Lapole of Williamsport, Carroll P. Lapole of Sharpsburg and Robert D. Bill of Greencastle, Pa.; four sisters, Lena Willoboughy of California, Doris Gatrell, Pearl Marshall and Jeanette "Peachie" Frabel, all of Sharpsburg; four brothers, James Getridge and Gary Getridge, both of Boonsboro, George "Wimp" Getridge of Clear Spring and Garnel Getridge of Brunson, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Gary W. Getridge will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery at Locust Grove.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cora A. Stoneberger

Cora A. Stoneberger, 85, formerly of 43 Alexander St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Carlisle, Pa.

Born in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Dowler Stotler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos H. Stoneberger, in 1991.

She was a member of Church of God, Dual Highway, Hagerstown.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary L. Cessna of Bedford, Pa.; two sons, A. Earl Stoneberger of Newville, Pa., and Harold L. Stoneberger of Fairplay, Md.; two brothers, Victor H. Stotler and Lloyd "Buddy" C. Stotler, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Church of God, 1515 Dual Highway, Hagerstown. The Rev. Jim L. Hamby will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

Daniel W. Weller

COLUMBIA, Md. - Daniel W. Weller, 81, of Columbia, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at his home.

Born April 21, 1916, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Daniel W. and Darl Weller.

He was an engineer with Boeing Aircraft.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine R. Roberts Weller of Columbia; two daughters, Joanne C. Gilmer of Tennessee and Judy A. Munn of Columbia; one son, Daniel W. Weller of Seattle; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Witzke Funeral Home, 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia. The Rev. Daniel Crowley will officiate. Burial will be in Columbia Memorial Park.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Howard Hospital Foundation, 5755 Cedar Lane, Columbia, Md. 21044.

Janet A. Gordon

Janet Arlene Gordon, 67, of 19308 Heritage Lane, Hagerstown, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport.

Born July 1, 1930, in Westminster, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Allan E. and Estella Edwards Holmes.

She is survived by her husband, Sidney W. Gordon of Hagerstown; two daughters, Joyce A. Danley of Olney, Md., and Linda Ann Gordon of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, David W. Gordon of San Diego and Darren K. Gordon of Hagerstown; one sister, Alice Albrack of Gardner, Mass.; one brother, Edgar A. Holmes of Winchendon, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home, 70 Pleasant St., Winchendon, Mass. The Rev. Edgar Kemp will officiate. Burial will be Monday at 9 a.m. in Woodside Cemetery, Westminster, Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Jessica E. Morgan

HICKORY, Md. - Jessica Elaine Morgan, 5, of Hickory, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at her home.

Born July 26, 1992, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of James Kevin Morgan of Frederick and the late Vicky Lee Austin, who also died Monday, April 13, 1998.

She was a kindergarten student at Hickory Elementary School, Harford County, Md.

In addition to her father, she is survived by a half brother, James Kevin Morgan II of Frederick; paternal grandparents, Larry and Dixie Morgan of Myersville, Md.; maternal grandmother, Linda Austin of Coconut Creek, Fla.; maternal grandfather, Allen Austin of Manassas, Va.; an aunt; three uncles; three great-aunts; four great-uncles; and great-grandfather, Charles Stouffer of Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at Harmony Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Myersville. Pastor Dan Goddard will officiate.

The family will meet friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville.

Lydia F. Keener

Lydia Fannie Keener, 75, of 13818 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Western Maryland Hospital Center.

Born March 27, 1923, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Clinton J. and Edna B. Bucher Keener.

She was a domestic homemaker for Mary H. Wittmer of Hagerstown for 52 years.

She was a member of Mercersburg Mennonite Church and the Maugansville Homemaker's Club.

She is survived by a brother, Adriel J. Keener of Maugansville; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel N. Gehman and Ella M. Keener; and a brother, Eldad J. Keener.

Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Albert L. Leaf Memorial Chapel of Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Revs. Manny Martin and Nelson L. Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Reiff Mennonite Church Cemetery, Cearfoss.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m.

Bernadine G. Ingram

Bernadine Grace Ingram, 83, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at her home.

Born Sept. 1, 1914, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie Long Harbaugh.

Her husband, Winfred Howard Ingram, died in 1986.

She was formerly employed by Fairchild Corp., Maryland Ribbon Co. and Hill's Store.

She was a member of Zion Reformed Church.

She is survived by a son, Daniel A. Ingram of Hagerstown; two sisters, Effie Minnick and Eleanor Gallo, both of Hagerstown; a brother, Ralph Harbaugh of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Hurd and Loretta Carty; and a grandson.

Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Andrew Mohl will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
