George Norris
George "Rocky" Norris, 65, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at his home.
Born Nov. 3, 1932, in Neuilly, France, he was the son of the late Whitton E. and Carolyn G. Norris.
He was a graduate of Antioch College in Ohio.
He served on the board of directors of Lycher, Inc.
He was a bronze life master with American Contract Bridge League.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn "Lyn" Norris, whom he married October 1974; three daughters, Joanna Gorman of Ludlow, Vt., Christina Norris of San Diego, and Mireille Murphy of Indianapolis; two sons, James Murphy of Collingswood, N.J., and Pieter
Bickford of Frederick, Md.; one sister, Mary W. Norris of Philadelphia; two brothers, Whitton E. Norris Jr. of Bedford, Mass., and Rollin B. Norris of Detroit; and five grandchildren.
A memorial meeting will be Friday at 8 p.m. at Williamsport United Methodist Church, 25 E. Church St., Williamsport.

Charles E. Jenkins
BAYONET POINT, Fla. - Charles E. "Jesse" Jenkins, 66, of Bayonet Point, died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Fla.
Born April 1, 1931, in Mount Savage, Md., he was the son of the late Howard and Dolores Cunningham Jenkins.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He retired from General Motors Corp., Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, New Port Richey, Fla.
He was a member of Egypt Shrine Temple of Tampa; Scottish Rite; Medairy Masonic Lodge, Williamsport; Railroaders Unit of Egypt Temple; past president and secretary of West Pasco Shrine Club; past president of Suncoast Maryland Club; a member of Elks Lodge, Hagerstown; American Legion, Hagerstown; and Moose Lodge, Hudson, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Snyder Jenkins; one sister, Janet Green-Euseppi of Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, Gerald Jenkins of Bowie, Md., and Neil Jenkins of Little Rock; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Louise.
Memorial services will be today at 1 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lappans. The Rev. Anne O. Weatherholt will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital.
James P. Jenkins
James Paul Jenkins, 47, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 16, 1950, in Huntingdon, Pa., he was the son of Janvier and Jacquiline Calderone Jenkins of Three Springs, Pa.
He was employed as a radiologist for 11 years at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
He was a member of American Radiologist Society; American Legion; and Morris Frock Post 42 of Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary L. Jenkins; one sister, Barbara Koch of Mount Union, Pa.; one brother, David Jenkins of New Orleans, La.; cousins; aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Orbisonia, Pa. The Rev. David Becker will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery, Shirleysburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. The family also will receive friends Sunday, March 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Martin Brown Funeral Home, Ridgeley Street, Orbisonia.
Margaret E. Rohrer
BRADDOCK HEIGHTS, Md. - Margaret E. Rohrer, 91, formerly of 10 S. Jefferson St., Frederick, Md., died Friday, March 13, 1998, at Vindabona Nursing Center.
Born April 8, 1906, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Dessie Harp Rohrer.
Her husband, Allen Rohrer, preceded her in death.
She received her bachelor's degree from University of Pittsburgh, and attended Columbia University, N.Y., University of Chicago, and obtained her master's equivalency in library science from the University of Maryland.
She was the librarian at Frederick High School for many years.
She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, and the Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship.
She also was a member of Association for Research and Development, Delta Kapp Gamma sorority, and Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by one son, David H. Rohrer of Frederick.
A memorial service and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery will be announced later.
Friends may call at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Nelson C. Howell
BALTIMORE - Nelson C. Howell, 65, of Baltimore, and formerly of Martinsburg, died at his home.
Born Sept. 5, 1932, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Albert H. and Mildred L. Wilson Howell.
He was a retired self-employed painter; and formerly was employed at Interwoven Mills.
He is survived by two sisters, Grace I. Howell Grote of Toledo, Ohio, and Phyllis J. Howell Pearrell of Martinsburg; one half sister, Alicia Gomez of Martinsburg; one half brother, Dennis Howell of Cumberland, Md.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Goldie V. M. Howell Magruder; and one brother, Robert Eugene Howell.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hakim J. Khan
Hakim J. Khan, 30, of Hagerstown; and formerly of Silver Spring, Md., died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at Western Maryland Hospital Center, Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 13, 1967, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Josephine George Khan of Silver Spring and the late Mohammad S. Khan.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Tarek G. Khan of Cleveland.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Victor Zuck will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Charles E. Jenkins

Betty J. Ruffner
Betty Jane King Ruffner, 74, of 17937 Pin Oak Road, Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport, was a member of West Hagerstown Little Heiskell Lioness Club, where she was acting secretary for two years; Olive Branch Chapter 34 Order of the Eastern Star in Keedysville, and American Business Women's Association, Conococheague Chapter, Greencastle, Pa.
Carl L. Kubert
Carl Leroy Kubert, 81, of 21 S. Burhans Blvd., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 3, 1917, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Karl and Cora Kubert.
He retired from B.P. Lesky Distribution Co. Inc.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He served with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Red Men of Williamsport; AMVETS Post 10; American Legion, Williamsport Post 202; and South Mountain Rod & Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Winifred J. Kubert; and nieces, nephews great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane Smith; and one brother, Oscar Kubert.
Burial and services will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Pauletta Tryman
Pauletta Tryman, 85, of 208 N. Jonathan St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at her home.
Born Dec. 13, 1912, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James Tryman Sr. and Madeline G. Hopewell-Snively.
She attended North Street School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the late Dr. and Mrs. Harry Bowmar for many years.
She was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, where she served on the stewardess board, was a church deaconess, and was active in church activities.
She is survived by one son, James P. Speaks Jr. of Philadelphia; one brother, James Tryman Jr. of Starkville, Miss.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Joyce Clark-Johnson; and one stepbrother, Russell Snively.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
