Lorraine O.A. Murray
Lorraine Ogden A. Murray, 76, of 747 Spruce St., Hagerstown, and a resident of Avalon Nursing Home, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 26, 1921, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Bertha Crable Tewalt Ogden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Schamel Murray, in 1993.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. James Brethren Church, St. James.
She is survived by three sisters, Virginia Poffenberger and Doris May Keplinger, both of Hagerstown, and Evelyn French of Cumberland, Md.; one brother, Wilson Ogden of Shreveport, La.; and one granddaughter.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 127 Britner Ave., Williamsport. The Rev. Brian Moore will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Katherine I. Rauth
Katherine Irene Rauth, 65, of 12140 Hopewell Road, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at the home of her daughter, Susan M. Wade.
Born April 24, 1932, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Notley Frisby Showe Sr. and Helen Ann Hose Showe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Valentine Rauth Sr.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Episcopal faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan M. Wade of Hagerstown; five sons, Albert V. Rauth Jr. of Hagerstown, Robert A. Rauth of Martinsburg, W.Va., Dennis J. Rauth, David W. Rauth and William C. Rauth, all of Hagerstown; one sister, Mildred A. Fertitta of Baltimore; three brothers, Notley F. Showe Jr. of Baltimore, Robert I. Showe of Hagerstown and Clyde E. Showe of Martinsburg; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra K. Rauth; and one brother, Ronald L. Showe.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. J. Clark Hayes will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Naomi R.L. Weaver
WILLIAMSPORT - Naomi Ruth Lantz Weaver, 87, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 23, 1910, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Titus and Annie Izora Miller Lantz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Weaver, in 1982.
She was employed by Hagerstown Bookbinding and Printing Co. Inc.
She was a member of First Christian Church.
She is survived by one brother, Charles K. Lantz of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Esta I. Lantz, Frances L. Werking and Myrtle K. Irving; and two brothers, William M. Lantz and Lloyd S. Lantz.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Thursday.
Stella A. McLymond
WILLIAMSPORT - Memorial services for Stella Allen McLymond, 99, of Williamsport, and formerly of Hancock, who died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Berkeley Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church, U.S. 522 South, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Carl B. Watts will officiate. Burial will be private.

Katherine I. Rauth

Robert I. Tiller Jr.
Robert Ivey Tiller Jr., 80, of 15626 Overview Circle, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 8, 1917, in Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert Ivey Tiller Sr. and Florence Hays Tiller.
He was employed by the former Gly Construction Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1979.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member and deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred L. Tiller; four daughters, Florence Martinez of Baltimore, Mary Ann Goodrick of Gambrill, Nancy Harris and Virginia Dowe, both of Myersville, Md.; two sons, Robert I. Tiller III of Hagerstown and John Henry Tiller of Prince Frederick, Md.; two sisters, Mary Frances Hutchinson of Virginia and Betty Holmes of Falls Church, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown. The Rev. Ed Hampton will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Myersville. Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.

Amy I. Knode
WILLIAMSPORT - Amy Irene Knode, 88, formerly of 440 S. Artizan St., died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born April 26, 1909, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Carlton C. and Anna Elizabeth Metcalf Mentzer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Harry Knode, in 1959.
She was employed with Eyerly's Department Store, Hagerstown; Turner's Southside Bowl; and later with Washington County Board of Education.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsport.
She was a member of AARP; and a former member of Ruth Rebeccas Lodge of the IOOF.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Lou Holtzman of Sharpsburg and Sandra Kay Knode of Williamsport; four sons, Harry Eugene Knode of Williamsport, Thomas Mentzer Knode of Clear Spring, Gary Leo Knode of Shippensburg, Pa., and David Harry Knode II of Hagerstown; twin sister, Mamie Martin of Maugansville; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six sisters, May Rickard, Lula Grove, Frances Watson, Ruth James, Catherine Smith and Grace Teach; and two brothers, Lester Mentzer and Carlton Mentzer.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 37 W. Potomac St., Williamsport. The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Friday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Dorothy W. Henson
NAPLES, Fla. - Dorothy W. Henson, 80, a seasonal resident of Naples, and formerly of Boonton, N.J.; Mountain Lakes, N.J.; and Salisbury, Md. died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in Naples.
Born Feb. 7, 1917, in Boonton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Smith Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert G. Whiting, in 1986.
She attended Wilson School, Mountain Lakes; and Skidmore College.
She was a homemaker; and a volunteer at several hospitals. Previously, she was an executive secretary at International Printing Inc.
She was a former member of Sweet Adelines.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Henson, formerly of Hagerstown, whom she married Jan. 14, 1988; her children, Richard P. Whiting of Boonton and Nancy W. Steenburg of Middleburg, Pa.; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara E. Whiting, in 1982.
Graveside services will be private in Montville, N.J.

John R. Mummert
John Richard Mummert, 74, of 13508 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born May 5, 1923, in Indian Springs, Md., he was the son of the late John Henry and Bessy Blanche Carbaugh Mummert.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Joyce Mummert, in 1983.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was employed by Mack Truck Inc., retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Grace Brethren Church.
He was a member of American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42; UAW; and VFW Post 1936.
He is survived by three daughters, Pamela J. Remsburg, Cathy D. Robison and Candace M. Fawley, all of Hagerstown; one son, John R. Mummert Jr. of Hagerstown; five sisters, Olive Shoemaker and Helen Lerch, both of Hagerstown, Dorothy Shoemaker and Madeline Hutson, both of Clear Spring and Virginia Flanagan of Westminster, Md.; one brother, Lindy Mummert of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Zello and Norine Carbaugh; and two brothers, Loren Mummert and Roland Mummert.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert L. Dell will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 42.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
