Victor C. Holder
KEEDYSVILLE - Victor Charles "Chuck" Holder, 44, of 5553 Porterstown Road, died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 4, 1953, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Wayne Edward and Flora Virginia Poffenberger Holder.
He was a graduate of Middletown High School.
He was employed by Certain-Teed Corp. in Williamsport.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Roberts Holder; one sister, Kimberly A. Moore of Hagerstown; two brothers, Wayne E. Holder Jr. of Grants, N.M., and Warren A. Holder of Middletown, Md.; one stepdaughter, Felicee G. Quinn of Cascade; four stepsons, James L. Quinn and Shawn A. Quinn, both of Martinsburg, W.Va., Jack A. Quinn of Tampa, Fla., and Jeffrey L. Hardy of Keedysville; grandfather, Charles W. Holder of Rohrersville; six step-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Christopher L. Holder.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Gregory E. Tyler will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Helen N.K. Dailey
Helen N. Kephart Dailey, 71, of 216 Potomac Heights, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 24, 1926, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Bessie Mae Babington Kephart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Richard Dailey, in 1980.
She was a 1944 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She was employed as a secretary by Washington County Health Department Mental Health Division for 20 years until retirement.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, Hagerstown; AMVETS Women Auxiliary; and Elks Lodge 378, Hagerstown.
She is survived by one daughter, Stacy E. Dailey of Hagerstown; one son, Marc F. Dailey of Hagerstown; three sisters, Martha J. Bachtell of Smithsburg, Evelyn Keeler of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Alice Yetter of Clear Spring; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by two children, Roxanne Dailey and Donald R. Dailey Jr.; one sister, Louise Kephart; and one brother, John E. Kephart.
Private graveside services will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward Heim will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Cystic-Fibrosis, Maryland Chapter, 10616 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, Md. 21030.

Clarence R. Baker
Clarence Russell "Ty" Baker, 78, of National Pike, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 31, 1919, in Washington County, he was the foster son of the late Raymond and Isabelle Bowman Baker.
He was in the aluminum recycling business.
He attended Downsville Christian Church and C.C. Camp in Boonsboro.
He is survived by a half-sister, Cleona Baker Lushbaugh of Smithsburg.
Services and burial will be in Bakerville Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.
Dora E. Collins
BALTIMORE - Dora Eva Collins, 79, of Baltimore, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at Heartland of Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Dec. 20, 1917, in Sneedville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Anderson and Eliza Seals Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burkett Collins.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Fell of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Joyce Oats of Augusta, W.Va.; two sons, Anderson Collins of Augusta and Denver Collins of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two sisters, Mary Ruth Kinsler of Sneedville and Ruby Anderson of Churchill, Tenn.; one brother, HuEdward Hopkins of Sneedville; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelby Jean Collins; and one son, Earl Collins.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Simon Oats will officiate. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery, Sykesville, Md.
There will be no viewing.
Helen M. Barnhart
Helen Marie Barnhart, 75, of 130 E. Irvin Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village.
Born Aug. 16, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Frederick T. and Olive A. Kline Hose.
She was a 1940 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She was employed by McCroy's, Fairchild Aircraft, and Letterkenny Army Depot. She also was a substitute teacher for the Washington County Board of Education.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was a member of AARP, American Contract Bridge League, and was secretary/treasurer of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Barnhart Sr.; two daughters, Sandra M. Simpson of Adelphi, Md., and Shelley J. Mathias of Manassas, Va.; one son, Robert C. Barnhart Jr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Elizabeth Nichols of Houston and Ann Snyder of Hagerstown; two brothers, Frederick Hose of Hagerstown and Jack Hose of Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. David M. Buchenroth will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

David G. Reese
FREDERICK, Md. - David Gerald Reese, 69, of 7205 Linganore Road, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at his home.
Born March 3, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Ephraim Gerald and Hazel Marie George Reese.
He was a graduate of Kings College in Delaware.
He retired from Standard Register Co.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.
He was a member of several local Hagerstown Brethren churches throughout his life. He most recently attended People's Baptist Church, Frederick.
He is survived by one daughter, Lisa D. Wollaston of Bear, Del.; two sons, Stephen M. Reese of Eldersburg, Md., and Daniel G. Reese of Mitchellville, Md.; one brother, Donald G. Reese of Tulsa, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Curtis Richmond
Curtis Richmond, 66, of 208 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 31, 1931, in Pear, W.Va., he was the son of the late Johana Joseph and Rhoda May Beanett Richmond.
He had been self-employed as a carpenter.
He served in the West Virginia National Guard and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary V. Richmond; two daughters, Linda Jean Richmond of Portland, Ore., and Benitta Lee Richmond of Vancouver, Wash.; one step daughter, Catherine Ann Gelwicks of Hagerstown; one son, Gary Allen Richmond of Vancouver; three step sons, Donald Ray Turner, Robert Michael Turner and Ronald Stephen Turner, all of Hagerstown; six sisters, Pat Wilson, Deanna Lewis and Delisa Plumley, all of Baltimore, Naomi Daniels of Beckley, W. Va., Hattie Filbin of Rio, W.Va., and Geneva Onley of Bedford, Pa.; two brothers, Gary Richmond and Odell Richmond of Rio; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a step son, Daniel Alan Turner.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Charles Daniels will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Naomi E. Hessong
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Naomi E. Hessong, 91, of Hayes Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 24, 1906, in Garfield, Md., she was the daughter of the late James E. and Sadie Brandenburg Hessong.
Prior to her retirement in 1960, she was employed as a domestic by Mr. and Mrs. William Lamble in Baltimore, for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wolfsville, Md.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Jacques Gouker, with whom she resided; one sister, Ruth E. Draper of Smithsburg; four brothers, John T. Hessong, Charles W. Hessong and Paul A. Hessong, all of Smithsburg, and George M. L. Hessong of Lebanon, Ore.; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby M. Hamilton; five brothers, James Hessong II, Joseph Hessong, Arthur Hessong, Robert Hessong and Parker Hessong; and one great-grandson, Darrell Garner Gouker.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wolfsville. The Rev. David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Church Hill, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville.
