Harry W. Gettel
TUCSON, Ariz. - Harry W. Gettel, 73, of Tucson, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997, following a brief illness.
Born April 14, 1921, he was the son of the late Nora and Harry Gettel.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Gettel; two sisters, Ethel Goetz and Betty Cantner, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, John Gettel and Bruce Gettel, both of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Fratrick and Mary Jane Smith; and one brother, Floyd W. Gettel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are by Evergreen Mortuary and Cemetery, Tucson.
Angel H. Robinson
Angel Hope Robinson, infant daughter of Rick D. and Tracy Moats Robinson of Hagerstown, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Christina Robinson, at home; and one brother, Ricky D. Robinson Jr., at home; maternal grandparents, Judith and Charles Moats of Hagerstown; paternal grandparents, Anna and Melvin Robinson of Hagerstown; and godparents, Melvin and Cynthia Robinson of Hagerstown.
Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va. Gertrude Dixon will officiate.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Carl E. Baker
BOONSBORO - Carl Eugene "Gene" Baker, 41, of 16 Schoolhouse Court, who died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997, is survived by his maternal grandmother, Hilda Smith of Boonsboro.
Russell J. Hutzell
Russell John "Buck" Hutzell, 87, of 301 Bentley Court, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, at his home.
Born July 1, 1910, in Downsville, he was the son of the late William John and Bessie Lea Mellott Hutzell Shank and the stepson of the late Amos Shank.
He retired from Central Chemical Co. in Hagerstown in 1972.
He was a member of Black Rock Bible Church, where he was a deacon and a member of the church board.
He was an avid woodworker.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Nellie Whittington Hutzell, whom he married Dec. 29, 1933; four daughters, Edna Mae Smith, Linda Lou Hill and Doris Jean Rubeck, all of Hagerstown, and Nancy Lee Keefer of Clear Spring; four sons, Charles Leonard Hutzell, Ronald Lee Hutzell and Richard Eugene Hutzell, all of Hagerstown, and Donald Wayne Hutzell of Boonsboro; one sister, Ella Mae Barnhart of Baltimore; one brother, Alvey Hutzell of Florida; 27 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Elizabeth Hutzell; two sons, Russell Amos Hutzell and David Lewellyn Hutzell; two sisters, Katherine Ripple and Leona Burger; and one brother, Charles Hutzell.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Dwight Morgan and the Rev. Paul Heefner will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Jeanette M. Coughlin
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Jeanette Mary Coughlin, 77, of Concord Drive, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born Jan. 28, 1920, in Shenandoah, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Annie Jones.
Her husband, Daniel Francis Coughlin, died in 1984.
She worked for the federal government in Rockville, Md., for several years.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Frederick.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ann Bussell of Brunswick; two sons, Daniel F. Coughlin of Florida and William G. Coughlin of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Coughlin; three sisters, Emma Boyd, Anna Burnhard and Martha Duncan; and two brothers, Charles Powell and Ralph Jones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ringtown, Pa. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery
in Ringtown.
The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m.
Howard Barrett
FUNKSTOWN - Howard Barrett, 59, of Funkstown, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born March 20, 1938, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Albert L. and Lois Gertrude Roach Barrett.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Hagerstown American Legion.
He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Marie Bridge and Lois Barrett Timmons, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sons, Matthew W. Barrett of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Mark Anthony Barrett of Martinsburg; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Burial will be in Buck Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Glen I. Kunkle
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Glen Isaac Kunkle, 89, a resident of ManorCare Health Services, and formerly of 5221 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg, died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997, at ManorCare Health Services.
Born May 11, 1908, in Williamson, Pa., he was the son of the late David W. and Grace Carrie Rife Kunkle.
His wife, Dorothy E. Jones Kunkle, died in 1996.
He was a wood pattern maker apprentice from 1926 to 1930 at Chambersburg Engineering Co. He then worked for two years for General Steel Corp. in Chester, Pa., and for four years at Frog and Switch Co. in Carlisle, Pa. In 1954, he retired from Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C., where he was employed since 1935.
He was a member of Greenvillage Church of God in Chambersburg.
He also was a member of Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia F&AM in Washington, D.C., and a life member of William R. Singleton Hope Lodge 7 F&AM in Lebanon, Pa.
He is survived by one sister, Elva Stambaugh of Chambersburg.
Services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Ronald E. Dull will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery
in Chambersburg.
Masonic services will be conducted by members of George Washington Lodge 143 F&AM at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Janet V.A. Barrett
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Janet Viola Adams Barrett, 74, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Aug. 23, 1923, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Ivy Mae Faircloth Adams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Barrett.
She retired from Musselman, where she worked for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Calvary Chapel in Martinsburg and was of the Pentecostal Holy Ghost Faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann Harmon of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two sisters, Elsie Brown of Toledo, Ohio, and Maxine A. Caton of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; four brothers, Eugene Adams and Toby Adams, both of Martinsburg, Bobby Adams of Gerrardstown and Garnett Adams of Tomahawk, W.Va.; one granddaughter; one grandson; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Miller; two brothers, Bill Adams and Harry Adams; and one grandson.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Church. The Rev. Marvin Marcus Caton Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mountainside Tabernacle Church Cemetery
on Poor House Road in Martinsburg.

James E. Itnyre Sr.
James Edward Itnyre Sr., 50, of 510 E. Washington St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, at his home.
Born July 11, 1947, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Jack B. and Ruth Jane Mills Itnyre.
He was a self-employed sheet metal worker.
He is survived by two daughters, Gina Tay Mills of Clear Spring, and Chastity Cherie Itnyre of Clear Spring; one son, James E. Itnyre Jr. of Williamsport; two sisters, Rosalie Grove and Jackie Shubert, both of Hagerstown; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Michelle Itnyre and Cathy Itnyre.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
James H. Mullineaux
James Homer "Mop" Mullineaux, 48, of 623 Frederick St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, at his home.
Born Jan. 22, 1949, in Washington County, he was the son of Marguerite Frye Mullineaux of Hagerstown, and the late James Homer Mullineaux Sr.
He retired from General Motors.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tina M. Mullineaux; and two daughters, Deanne Brown of Florida and Jeannie Barnhart of Hagerstown.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Bible Brethren Church, corner of Wesel Boulevard and Burhans Boulevard, Hagerstown. Pastor Greg Smith will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.

Berkeley G. Stotler
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Berkeley G. Stotler, 77, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Dec. 1, 1919, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Gilbert K. and Fannie Davis Stotler.
He was a 1937 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
He was a well-known local baseball player during the late 1930s and 1940s, playing professional baseball in the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees organizations. He served as a baseball scout in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, giving numerous local baseball players their first chance to play professional baseball.
He also was a founding member of the Martinsburg Little League and a longtime youth baseball coach.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Force, and retired after 41 years of service with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center as the assistant chief of supply service.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Doris Dingler Stotler; three daughters, Karen S. Martin, Mary Ann Stotler and Pamela E. Stotler, all of Martinsburg; three sons, Richard H. Stotler and Craig W. Stotler, both of Martinsburg, and Terry L.C. Stotler of Biloxi, Miss.; one sister, Viola Kilmer of Martinsburg; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael D. Stotler; four sisters, Lucy Geyer, Marie Stotler, Gladys Marshall and Dorothy Stotler; and one brother, Paul L. Stotler.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Jerry MeHaffey, chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
