Angel D. Torrez
CLEAR SPRING - Angel Dawn Torrez, infant daughter of Pablo "Paul" Torrez and Andrea Smith of Clear Spring, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
She was born at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a maternal grandmother, Tina Johnson and maternal step-grandfather, Jack Johnson of Clear Spring; paternal foster grandparents, Eric and Shelley Messenger of Clear Spring; maternal great-grandparents, Buddy and Louise Compton of Clear Spring; and one uncle.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Broadfording Cemetery, 13523 Broadfording Church Road, Hagerstown. The Rev. William H. Freed will officiate.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Richard G. Clary
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Richard Glenn Clary, 68, of 87 Walters Ave., died Friday, Aug. 1, 1997, of a heart attack at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born July 23, 1929, in Greencastle, he was the son of the late Howard P. and Ruth V. Fox Clary.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores J. Shultz Clary, in 1983.
He was a 1947 graduate of Greencastle High School. He was also a graduate of Hagerstown Business College.
He was employed by Mack Truck, Hagerstown, as a clerk and retired in 1991 after 20 years of service.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Frank Carbaugh American Legion Post 373, Greencastle.
He coached the Greencastle Little League for more than 40 years. He also was an avid hunter.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy A. Smith of Summerville, S.C., and Karen S. Quist of Lakeside, Conn.; one son, Kevin R. Clary of Savannah, Ga.; one brother, Donald E. Clary of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg. Bishop Bobby H. Fike will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Lois M. Martin
MAUGANSVILLE - Lois M. Martin, 63, of 13914 Village Mill Drive, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997, at her home.
Born Dec. 26, 1933, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob E. and Cora E. Martin Horst.
She assisted her husband in working at Warren Martin's Garage in Maugansville.
She was a member of Miller's Mennonite Church, near Leitersburg.
She is survived by her husband, Warren R. Martin, whom she married on Nov. 11, 1954; three sons, Michael L. Martin of Maugansville, Marshall L. Martin of Hagerstown and Bruce J. Martin of State Line, Pa.; two sisters, Ellen Eshleman and Aletha Eshleman, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Lewis Horst of Hagerstown; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Diller; and one brother, Preston Horst.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Miller's Mennonite Church, near Leitersburg. Miller's Mennonite Church Ministry will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Wednesday.

John W. Good
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - John W. Good, 86, of 219 S. Broad St., died Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born June 3, 1911, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Lincoln G. and Jane Elizabeth Spangler Good.
He attended Waynesboro schools.
He learned his machinist trade at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro. He then worked at Landis Tool Co. as a machinist and also was an inspector prior to retiring in 1976 after 48 years of service.
He was a member of Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro. He also was a member of the Men's Bible Class. He served as superintendent of Sunday schools for 16 years; served on the administrative board for a number of years; and served on the building committee when the present church was being built.
He was a member of national AARP.
He volunteered at Waynesboro Easter Seal Society and Waynesboro Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Violet M. Toms Good, whom he married on March 23,1925; one son, John Stanley Good of Waynesboro; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Lulu Compher, Edith Ruppert, Esther Koontz, Mabel Wiles and Katherine Good; and two brothers, George Good and Joseph Good.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Wilber L. Sites will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to the services.

Ralph F. Steele
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ralph F. Steele, 68, of 454 Highland Ave., died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997, of Legionnaires disease at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1928, in Drill, Va., he was the son of the late Henry and Angie Johnson Steele.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia A. Shaffer Steele, in 1996.
He was a 1945 graduate of Honaker High School, Honaker, Va.
He was first employed by Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, as a radar technician. He then worked as the low-altitude branch chief of electronics and then as the division chief of electronics. He retired in 1992 as an equipment specialist with CTX for HAWK Missiles with 43 years of service. After retiring, he became a consultant for SUMMA Technology Inc. as a HAWK logistic specialist.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He had been affiliated with the Baptist Church in Virginia.
He had been a member of Goodwill Fire Co., Chambersburg; life member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, Chambersburg; member of Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, Chambersburg; and Veteran's of Vietnam War Post 41, Chambersburg.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Maguyon, at home, Crystal "Bunny" Davis of Chambersburg and Lisa Seiders of Philadelphia; one sister, Thelma Parker of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three brothers, Mike Steele of Dayton, Ohio, John Steele of Bluefield, W.Va., and Dan Steele of Chesapeake, Va.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ralph E. Steele Jr.; one granddaughter; and three brothers, Elmer Steele, Claude Steele and Allen Steele.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg. The Rev. Roy L. Seiders will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Clara J. Bennett
Clara Jane Bennett, 69, formerly of 10902 Roessner Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 14, 1927, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Howard Edward and Isabelle Freise Hancock.
Her husband, Albert Joseph Bennett Jr., died in 1993. They were married Jan. 13, 1951.
She was employed as an operator with C&P Telephone Co. and as a bookkeeper with WHAG radio in her early years.
She is survived by two daughters, Lorri Jean Brechbill and Linda Marie McCauley, both of Hagerstown; one son, Albert J. Bennett III of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, Cletus T. Hancock of Big Pool and Kenneth L. Hancock of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Jack Fullen will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery
in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Gail E.R. Waeber
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Gail Elizabeth Remsberg Waeber, 43, of 5 Manda Court, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997, at her home of cancer.
Born Aug. 15, 1953, in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of J. Homer "Jack" Remsberg Jr. and Marcia Ellis Remsberg of Middletown.
She was a 1971 graduate of Middletown High School. She also was a 1974 graduate of University of Maryland, where she was a cheerleader.
She was a lifelong member of Christ Reformed Church, Middletown.
She traveled with her husband throughout his military career. She was an art teacher in Rapid City, S.D., and at Ballenger Creek Elementary School near Frederick from 1993 to 1996. In 1994, she was honored as the Outstanding Visual Arts Educator of the year.
She was an avid tennis player and swimmer. As a teenager, she was a diver and swimmer for the Frederick YMCA. She was an active 4-H Club member, showing Holstein cattle, and winning numerous sewing awards. She was a former Frederick County Dairy Princess and a Frederick County 4-H Queen. She was a team member representing Maryland in 1970 at the National 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest.
She was an artist, calligrapher and seamstress.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Gregory G. Waeber, whom she married on Jan. 11, 1975; three daughters, Kate Waeber, Kim Waeber and Kristen Waeber, all at home; three sisters, Valerie R. Main and Jill R. Brandenburg, both of Middletown, and Barbara R. Fisher of Greencastle, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Christ Reformed Church, Middletown.
There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in memory of her to benefit the education of her children. Contributions may be sent to FCNB Bank, Middletown branch, 819 E. Main St., Middletown, Md. 21769; or delivered to any FCNB bank location.

Mary J. Brumbaugh
CLEAR SPRING - Mary Jane Brumbaugh, 54, of 13665 Clear Spring Road, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 10, 1943, in Roaring Springs, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jack L. Decker and Ruth A. Foore/McKnight Decker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Brumbaugh, in 1989.
She was previously employed as a dietary manager by Frederick Nursing Home, Frederick, Md., and was owner of the Double M Restaurant, Taneytown, Md.
She attended Broadfording Church of the Brethren of Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Lori Willman of Clear Spring and Karen Riner of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one son, Thomas Brumbaugh Jr. of Big Pool; two brothers, Rick Decker of Collegeville, Pa., and Jack Decker of Defiance, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ron Long Funeral Home, Church Street, Saxton, Pa. The Rev. Ernest Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Broadtop, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
