Warren, David E.
David E. Warren of Bridgeville, Delaware died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his home.
He was 63 years old.
Born in Milford, Delaware, Mr. Warren was the son of the late Welton "Tommy" Emerson Warren and Lorna Doone Elliott Warren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Warren was predeceased by his wife who was the love of his life, Janet Harris Warren who died March 11, 2006 and one brother, Philip Warren.
He was a self employed contractor.
Mr. Warren is survived by two daughters: Florence Blough and her husband Wayne of Easton, MD and Terry Warren and her fiancé Robert of Greensboro; two sons: David E. Warren, Jr. and his fiancé Judy of Preston, MD and Conway S. Warren and his fiancé Tammy of Denton, MD; two sisters: Darlene S. Jones and her husband Ricky of Greenwood, DE and Kim MacFarland and her husband Brent of Ridgely, MD; one brother, William T. Warren of DE; four grandchildren: Amber Collins and her husband Edwin, T, J. Lord, Caitlin Blough, and Amie'e Downes; and one great granddaughter, Skylie Lynn Collins.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, July 10th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton, MD 21629 where friends may call one hour before the service. The interment will be in the Bloomery Church Cemetery in Smithville, MD.
Holland, Evelyn M.
Evelyn M. Holland of Denton, MD died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Envoy of Denton. She was 87 years old.
Born in Denton on November 3, 1922, Mrs. Holland was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee Reed and Ruth Sullivan Griffith Reed. She had lived in Denton all of her life. Her husband, John C. Holland, died April 5, 1987.
Mrs. Holland had been an Aid at the Memorial Hospital in Easton, MD for twenty years. She had also worked as a line worker at Caroline Poultry. In addition to enjoying her children and grandchildren, she also enjoyed reading.
Mrs. Holland is survived by three sons: Joseph Holland and his wife Sandra of Bridgeville, DE, Richard Holland and his wife Kathy of Henderson, MD, Dallas Holland and his wife Lois of Dover, DE; two daughters: Diane Davis of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Phyllis Gale and her husband John of Cordova, MD; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Thompson, a son, Wayne Holland, and one great grandson, Christopher Dennis Dill.
A funeral service will be 12 Noon Thursday, Aug. 19th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street, in Denton where friends may call one hour before the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests for friends to send memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 1138 Parsons Road, Salisbury, MD 21801.
Berger, Rosellen L.
Rosellen L. Berger, formerly of Denton, MD, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at her home in Goldsboro, MD. She was 91 years old.
Born in Brentwood, MD in Prince George's County, on March 15, 1919, Mrs. Berger was the daughter of the late Raymond Clarence Cole and Rosa Lillian Speake Cole. Her husband, John Edward Berger, died January 24, 1981.
Mrs. Berger has lived in Caroline Co. since the early 1940's. She worked for many years with the County Record newspaper in Denton. She then worked as a Social Worker for the MD Department of Social Services, retiring in 1985. She is a member of the St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church, a past member of the Denton Women's Club, and a former volunteer and Board Member for the Caroline Hospice Foundation.
Mrs. Berger is survived by her son, John E. Berger, Jr. and his wife Delinia of Goldsboro; one brother, Robert "Bob" Cole of Palo Alto, CA; a sister, Lelia Brennan of Altamonte, FL; two granddaughters, Sharon Louise Hancock and Jennifer Rose Middleton; one step granddaughter, Lorrie Leigh Mitchell; a step grandson, Thomas Bennett, Jr.; and five great grandchildren: Michael Middleton, Justin Middleton, Alex Hancock, Julian Hancock, and Ashley Mitchell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Friday, June 18th, at the St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church on First St. in Denton. Friends may visit with the family from 10 until 10:45 before the service at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton. The interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery on Greensboro Road near Greensboro, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for friends to give memorial donations to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, PO Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
Shull, Carolyn G.
Carolyn G. Shull of Denton, MD, died Monday, December 20, 2010, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. She was 70 years old.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Carolyn was the daughter of the late William Benjamin Shull and Helen Gaines Shull. She had lived in Denton since 1975.
Before moving to Denton, Carolyn lived in Newtown in Bucks County, PA. There, she graduated from Council Rock High School. After school, she became a Justice of the Peace and a member of the Rose Croix Court #147. She was an accomplished knitter and made many dolls, afghans, and other handiwork until her arthritis became rehabilitating. For the last 20 years, she made her home at the Caroline Nursing Home where the staff became part of her family.
Carolyn is survived by two brothers: William E. Shull and his wife Bette of Denton and Walter C. Shull and his wife Laurel of Vorhees, NJ; three sisters: her twin, Helen P. Shull of Sonoma, CA, Norma R. Smethurst and her husband John of Melbourne, Australia, and Mary E. Oliver and her husband Gerald of Tulsa, OK; eleven nieces and nephews: Billy Shull, David Shull, Jeff Shull, Alex Smethurst, James Patrick, Jennifer Shull, Kate Stuckert, Amanda Caruso, Emily Patrick, Rose Smethurs, and Rebecca Brown; and also 13 great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held in Denton, on Tuesday, December 28th . The interment will be 11 AM Wednesday, January 5th, in the Newtown Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests for friends to send memorial donations in Carolyn's memory to the Caroline Nursing Home, 520 Kerr Ave., Denton, MD 21629 or to the charity of your choice.

Jones, William R.
William R. Jones (Bill) of Denton, MD, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Memorial Hospital in Easton, MD. He was 78 years old.
Bill was born in Goldsboro, MD. He was the son of the late Harry Malone Jones and Mary Lola Sipple Jones. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorothy Bickling and Betty Pippin.
Bill graduated from the Greensboro, MD High School and was a veteran of the US Army. He had farmed and also worked for EI DuPont in Seaford where he was known as "Spike". He retired from DuPont in 1985 and continued farming until the present. He was a great fan of the Baltimore Orioles, the Baltimore Ravens, NASCAR, and horse racing. He was also an active member of the VFW Memorial Post 7937.
Bill is survived by his wife, Anna D. Jones of Denton; two sons: Lee DeFord of Washington, D.C. and Harry R. Jones of Denton; 4 grandchildren: Mark Jones, Matthew Jones, Jeremy Jones, and Andrew Jones; and 2 great grandchildren: Abigail and Kaylyn.
The funeral service will be 1 PM Thursday, May 27th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St. in Denton where friends may visit with the family from 6 until 8 on Wednesday evening. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery.

Farina, Frank J.
Army
Frank J. Farina, Jr. of Denton, MD died Friday, November 26, 2010, at the Memorial Hospital in Easton, MD. He was 86 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 1, 1924, Mr. Farina was the son of the late Frank Joseph Farina, Sr. and Rose Stuti Farina. He married his wife, Eleanor Kostecki Farina, presently of Denton, on October, 23, 1948 when he was 24 and she was 18.
Mr. Farina was a veteran of the US Army 82nd Airborne, serving in several campaigns in the European Theater during WWII where he received three Bronze Stars and earned the Purple Heart during the Battle of the Bulge. . He moved to Denton from Palmyra, NJ in 1962. He had worked as a sales manager for the Mulholland-Harper Co. from 1948 until 1991 when he retired after 43 years. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church in Denton, was a Charter member of the Caroline Country Club, and was a member of the Caroline American Legion Post 29.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Farina is survived by two sons: Kenneth F. Farina and his wife, Crystel, of Denton and Dennis J. Farina and his wife, Joanne, of Denton; one brother, Louis Farina of Chestertown, MD; a sister, Camille McClevery of Philadelphia, PA; and three grandchildren, Kelsey, D.J., and Jennifer Farina. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Copolla, and one brother, Jerome Farina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Tuesday, November 30th, at the St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church on First Street in Denton where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
The interment will be in the Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery in Beulah near Hurlock, MD.
