Lindner, C. Kyle

Christopher Kyle Lindner, of Cambridge, passed away on May 26, 2010 at his home. He was born on December 25, 1985, the son of William Jefferson Lindner Jr. and Jennifer Langkammerer.

He was working as Sous Chef at Snappers Waterfront Café, in Cambridge, where he started working when he was 16. Kyle graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School in 2004, and graduated from Johnson and Wales in Charlotte, North Carolina with a degree in Culinary Arts in 2006. After college he returned to Cambridge and was made Sous Chef at Snappers Waterfront Café. Kyle enjoyed cooking, working, fixing up ”the bronco”, bartending, and being surrounded by his good friends.

Surviving are parents William Jefferson Lindner and Jennifer Langkammerer and her husband Carl Langkammerer III; one sister, Katie Lindner; grandparents Loretta and Atwood Henry, and William and Wanda Lindner Sr. ; Uncle and Aunt John and Terri Willis; Uncle and Aunt Jaime and Terri Richardson, Uncle Butch Richardson; Aunt Zanna Lindner, and Uncle and Aunt Dale and Cynthia Tall and the Langkammerer family. Kyle is preceded in death by his grandfather William Richardson.

Pallbearers will CPL Jeremy Brewer, Brian Mahon, Charles Tinley, Matthew Dail, Derek Wattay, Justin Howard and Floyd.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD with Rev. William Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 209, 5637 Springdale Road, East New Market, MD 21631 or to the Cambridge Little League, P.O. Box 1275, Cambridge, MD 21613.

McNamara, Elizabeth M. "Betty"

Elizabeth M. “Betty” McNamara, 85 of Ragged Point, near Cambridge, passed away at the Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge on Monday, January 10, 2011. She was born at Hills Point on August 8, 1925, and was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Ella Irene Condon Marshall.

She attended schools at Hills Point and also in Cambridge. During WW II she had worked in Baltimore. On December 20, 1950 she was married to Vernon F. McNamara. Betty had worked at National Can Co. and went to work at Airpax for many years until she retired in 1972. She was a member of Spedden United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed painting, reading, crocheting and being around the water. She had been in failing health for several months and had been a resident at Chesapeake Woods Center since September where she passed away early Monday morning.

Survivors include her husband Vernon F. McNamara of Ragged Point, one son Joseph Edward McNamara and his wife Elizabeth “Beth” McNamara of Ft. Orange, Florida, two grandchildren Benjamin E. McNamara and Ian M. McNamara. She is also survived by a sister Mildred Bradshaw of Cambridge, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Irene James and two brothers William Marshall and Walter Marshall.

A funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. Pam Bockart officiating. Interment will follow at the East New Market Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Roy Bradshaw, Randall Bradshaw, Robert Bradshaw, Marshall Wingate, Robert Cannon and Robert Condon. Memorial contributions may be made to Spedden United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Carolyn Wright, 507 Gay Street, Cambridge, MD 21613, or to the Neck District Vol. Fire Co., 945 Cooks Point Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.

Sellers, Ellen J.

Ellen J. Sellers, 83 of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday January 12, 2011 at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge. She was born in Baltimore on September 16, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Slaman and Alice Cowan Jaber.

She attended schools in Baltimore. On January 24, 1948 she was married to Robert K. Sellers, Jr. Mr. Sellers passed away on November 19, 2004. She had worked in the family business, Glenmore Motors in Baltimore for a number of years, and later worked for the Jeffersonian Newspaper in Towson and also at Beltone Hearing Aids in Bel Air.

Mrs. Sellers and her husband moved to Hickory, in Harford County in 1978, where they realized their lifelong dream of restoring an old homestead. They were active members of the Steppingstone Museum. Mrs. Sellers attended Emory United Methodist Church in Street, Maryland. She loved her dogs and cat and enjoyed gardening. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling with friends and family, and spending time at the beach. In 2001, she and her husband moved to Cambridge, Maryland, where she was an active member of the Eastern Shore Hospital Center Auxiliary. Mrs. Sellers had been in failing health for the past two years and had been a resident at the Mallard Bay Care Center since March of 2009 where she passed away on Wednesday.

Survivors include two sons Robert K. Sellers III and his wife Mary P. Sellers of Cambridge and Daniel A. Sellers and his wife Sarah Sellers of Baltimore, four grandchildren Donald Sellers and Katie Sellers of Cambridge and Lydia Sellers and Gabriel Sellers of Baltimore, two nieces Ellen Hurdel and her husband Paul, Kathy Bell and husband Douglas, one great niece and one great nephew and their families, and special friends Patsy Hanley of Hickory, MD, and Michelle Bassler of Philadelphia, PA. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a brother Richard A. Jaber and a niece Lynn Beckwith.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Candlelight Inn, 1835 Frederick Road, Baltimore, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eastern Shore Hospital Center Auxiliary, P.O. Box 800, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A.

Fitzgerald, James P.

Army

James P. Fitzgerald, 93, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Talbot Hospice House. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 30, 1917 and was a son of the late Owen and Mary Griffin Fitzgerald.

He attended and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia. Mr. Fitzgerald also graduated from LaSalle College in Philadelphia with a degree in business. He served his country in WW II, in the China Burma India Theatre, stationed in Karachi, India, and was Administrative NCO in the 181st General Hospital. He married Marie Rita Fitzgerald on October 10, 1959. She passed away on January 30, 2000. He was a manager at Sears for many years transferring to Cambridge in 1968, retiring in 1974. Later, he was manager of MUC in Cambridge and retired in 1991. He was a member of Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW, 4th Degree Knight, lifetime member the Knights of Columbus of Archbishop Ryan Assembly in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Men of Malvern Retreat House in Malvern, PA for many years. He was an active member of St. Mary Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church in Cambridge.

He is survived by two daughters Lisa Grande and husband Santo of Easton and Patrice Rudolphi and husband Robert of Towson, a son Owen J. Fitzgerald of Cambridge and companion Julie Yankovich, four grandchildren Mary Kate Grande, Nick Grande, Bridget Rudolphi and Lauren Rudolphi, a sister Kathleen Begley of Souderton, PA and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Fitzgerald is preceded in death by four brothers Joseph, Mark, John and William Fitzgerald and a sister Mary Clime.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church with Celebrants William Lawler and Bruce Byrolly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield, PA. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at St. John Nuemann Cemetery in Chalfont, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Refuge of Sinners, P.O. Box 218, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to St. Peter & Paul School, 900 High Street, Easton, MD 21601. Local arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.

Morris, Timothy L.

Air Force

Timothy L. Morris, 63, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Cambridge on August 8, 1947 and was a son of the late Meredith B. and Ruth Todd Morris.

Mr. Morris graduated from South Dorchester High School. He was Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was always a waterman. Timmy was owner/operator of T.L. Morris Seafood in Trappe. He was a volunteer with Coastal Hospice. Timmy was a mentor to young people. He was a member of Souls Harbor Church of God. Prior to Souls Harbor Church of God, he was a Methodist lay speaker in his youth. He was also a member of South Dorchester Jaycee’s where he served as president and was a member of the Republican Central Committee. Timmy supported the local Fraternal Order of Police and he purchased a life vest for the K-9 Unit. He also sponsored local softball teams.

He is survived by a nephew Brian Creighton and wife Missy of Easton and their children Josh Creighton and Richie Long, close friends Charles Marshall of Cambridge and Josh Parker of Vienna, several aunts and uncles. Besides his parents, Timmy is preceded in death by a sister Vicky Creighton.

Pallbearers will be Josh Parker, Jason Mills, Jake Jones, Nelson Goslin, P.T. Hambleton, Buddy Pritchett, Gary Marshall and Radcliffe Wheatley.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Souls Harbor Church of God with Rev. J. Edward King officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Souls Harbor Church of God, 718 Peachblossom Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.

Lushin, Marjorie H.

Marjorie H. Lushin, 91, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Atria Assisted Living in Salisbury. She was born in Secretary on June 25, 1918 and was a daughter of the late Luke J. and Ola Wheatley Hackett.

Mrs. Lushin attended and graduated from East New Market High School. She attended and graduated from University of Maryland College Park and George Washington University, receiving multiple degrees. Mrs. Lushin was a professor in the Washington, DC area. She married Raymond Lushin. He passed away in 1981. Mrs. Lushin was an avid ballroom dancer, traveled all over the world and attended social events at the White House with her husband. She lived in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD all of her working years and returned to the Eastern Shore five years ago.

She is survived by a niece Nancy Trader and husband John of Cambridge, two great nephews John Trader, Jr. and Jason R. Trader and a cousin Ruth Ann Watkins of Pocomoke City. Besides her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by a sister Hazel H. Walker and a brother Thomas Hackett.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 27th at 11 a.m. at East New Market Cemetery with Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.

Aaron, Kimerbly Ann

Kimberly Ann Aaron, 42 of Cambridge, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. She was born in Meyersdale, PA on February 2, 1968, and was a daughter of Nancy Mae Webb Lowery, and the late Roy E. Lowery.

She attended Sussex Central High School in Georgetown, DE. On December 18, 1999 she was married to Steven Aaron. Kim was a member of the Bay Country Church in Cambridge. She enjoyed following politics, writing, working with flowers, spending time with her children and loved cats and animals. She also enjoyed making jewelry. Kim was stricken suddenly at home on Wednesday, and was taken to Dorchester General Hospital where she passed away.

Survivors include her husband Steven R. Aaron of Cambridge, one daughter Kristen Nicole Lowery of Bridgeville, DE, one son Kristopher M. Lowery of Seaford, one step daughter Amanda Aaron of Cambridge, her mother Nancy Lowery of Seaford, DE, two sisters and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. D.J. Wooten officiating. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Interment will follow at the East New Market Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Huber, Phillip Wallace, Louis Sinclair, Robert Smith and Bill Trice. Memorial contributions may be made in Kim's name to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.a., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.

Adams, Jr., Roger F.

Roger F. Adams, Jr., 53, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1956 in Cambridge and was a son of Roger F. Adams, Sr. and the late Elizabeth "Betty" Tieder Adams.

Roger graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1974. He worked for Dorchester County Roads Board for 29 years as a welder. He was also a partner in the family farming business and also had a private welding business. He enjoyed sporting clays, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Bucktown United Methodist Church, a 21 year member of Cambridge Lodge #66 A. F. & A. M. and Cambridge Moose Lodge.

He is survived by two daughters Katelyn E. Adams and Kelsey M. Adams both of Cambridge, his father Roger F. Adams of Cambridge, two brothers J. Toby Adams of Cambridge and Mark D. Adams of Cambridge, a niece Logan E. Adams, a nephew Carson T. Adams and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be J. Toby Adams, Mark Adams, Brad Murphy, Mark Elliott, Billy Short, Eric Doty, Donnie Moore and Russell Insley. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Thomas, Don Townsend, Goldsborough James, Tommy Pleasant, Lingan Spicer and Steve Willey.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Burial will follow at Bucktown Churchyard. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. A Masonic service will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bucktown Cemetery Fund, c/o Franklin Knauer, 3275 Knauer Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Linkwood-Salem Volunteer Fire Co., P. O. Box 66, Linkwood, MD 21835.
