ERIC JAMES TWIGG
CUMBERLAND - Eric James Twigg, 27, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997.
Born June 6, 1970, in Alamogordo, N.M., he was the son of Julia R. (Chedester) Twigg, Cumberland, and James Twigg and wife, Marge, Bordentown, N.J. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Grace Chedester.
Surviving are two brothers, Richard W. Twigg and wife, Florence, Audubon, N.J., and Michael A. Twigg, at home; one sister, Sherry Chandler and husband, Ron, Short Gap, W.Va.; five nieces and nephews, Tommy, Julie, Shannon, Connor, and Siobhan; two special aunts, Carol Merrill and Sally Greise; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Quentin Simpson officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff at Children's Medical Group for the exceptional care that Eric received, especially from Dr. Levitas and Dr. Nuber.

MARY M. TWIGG
CUMBERLAND - Mary M. (Bobo) Twigg, 89, of East Mary Street, Cumberland, died Sunday, July 6, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 29, 1907, in Harrisonburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles William and Katherine M. (Smith) Turner. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin Franklin Bobo; and her second husband, Harry Ashby Twigg.
Mrs. Twigg was a practical nurse in the Cumberland area, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Elder Street, Cumberland, for 45 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Surviving are one son, Dennis W. Bobo and Gloria A. Jefferson, Chambersburg, Pa.; four daughters, Mary Catherine Bobo Brown and Jack Flanagan, Cumberland, Helena Smith, Flintstone, Claudia Peterson and husband Ronald, LaVale, and Shirley Steward and husband Jack, Cumberland; one daughter-in-law, Hazel Bobo, Cumberland; one sister, Nellie Twigg, Cumberland; one brother, William Turner, Mexico; 14 grandchildren, Dennis W. Bobo Jr., Gary W. Bobo, Roger Alan, Carolyn Lengal, Deborah Sauerwald, Kandace Smith Harmon, Denise Raduano, Ronald Peterson Jr., Mark Wink Cline, Matt B. Cline, Mary D. Goad, M. June Ward, Mitchell D. Cline and Tracee Wine; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the First Assembly of God Church, 21 Elder St., Cumberland, on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Orville Thomas officiating.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

CUMBERLAND - Rhoda M. Twigg, 102, of Cumberland, died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 9, 1894, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Rachel B. (Robinette) Bucy. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Twigg; and two sons, Melvin E. Twigg and James Henry Twigg.
Mrs. Twigg was a homemaker. She attended Mount Tabor United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Benny J. Twigg and wife Betty, and Robert D. Twigg and wife Joyce, all of Cumberland; one daughter, May E. Deremer, Cresaptown; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Twigg, LaVale; one brother, Albert Bucy, Baltimore; one sister, Hazel Wilkinson, Baltimore; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

SYLVIA O. TWIGG
CUMBERLAND - Sylvia O. Twigg, 92, of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Booth Towers, Cumberland, died Tuesday, April 1, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born May 19, 1904, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Levi and Christina (Dyche) Hofe. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Twigg, in 1971.
She was a member of Centre Street Methodist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are two daughters, Alice Malone and husband Dave, Wiley Ford, W.Va., and Iva Burkett and husband Vincent, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Timothy Malone and wife Cara, Cumberland, Sean Malone and wife Jeannie, Wiley Ford, W.Va., and Cathy Corley and husband Jim, Potomac Park, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave. on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Adam E. Grim officiating.
Interment will be in Great Cacapon cemetery, Great Cacapon, W.Va.
THEODORE W. TWIGG, SR.
OLDTOWN - Theodore W. Twigg, Sr., 80, of Oldtown, died Friday, July 18, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born February 23, 1917, in Oldtown, he was the son of the late Edward R. and Emma (Buser) Twigg. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin and Millard Twigg.
Mr. Twigg was retired from Schmidt's Baking Company, Cumberland. He was a member of Oldtown United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Frances M. (Bloss) Twigg; three sons, Theodore W. Twigg, Jr., and wife Sandra, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Edward L. Twigg and wife Eileen, and Earl L. Twigg and wife Laura, all of Oldtown; one daughter, Faye Burton and husband Donnie, Cumberland; one brother, John H. Twigg, Cumberland; three sisters, Nellie Long, Ridgeley, W.Va., Mary Grady, Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Edith Smith, Springfield, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Glenn F. Stevens, Sr., officiating.

CHARLES W. "BENNY" UPPERMAN, SR.
BLOOMINGTON - Charles W. "Benny" Upperman, Sr., 88, formerly of Bloomington, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport.
He was born April 25, 1909, at Oakland, the son of the late Benjamin G. Upperman and the late Bertha A. (Buckalew) Upperman. He also was preceded in death by a son, Charles Upperman, Jr.; and a grandson, Steven Upperman.
He was retired from the B&O; Railroad, and he also was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Upperman was Methodist by faith. He was a member of the Bloomington Senior Citizens and The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
Surviving are his wife, Katherine Louise (Michael) Upperman; two sons, Raymond R. "Dick" Upperman and wife, Shirley, Bloomington, Fred Riggleman and wife, Karen, Rawlings; two daughters, Brenda Riggleman, Keyser, and Delores Mays, Springfield, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Christa Upperman, Morgantown, W.Va.; half-brother, Robert Upperman and wife, Betty, Tunnelton, W.Va.; two sisters, Mary Valentine and Edna Young, both of Elcajon, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Nelson officiating.
Interment will be in Bloomington cemetery.
