GLADYS L. STEVENS
CUMBERLAND - Gladys LaVina Stevens, 90, of the Allegany County Nursing Home, formerly of Booth Towers, Cumberland, died Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 23, 1906, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Long) Stevens. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Miss Stevens was a former employee of the Celanese Corporation. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and the Salvation Army Golden Agers.
Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Father Edward Chapman officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 16 Washington Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
JESSICA A. STEVENS
CUMBERLAND - Jessica A. Stevens, 23, of Wills Creek Avenue, Cumberland, died Monday, June 30, 1997.
Born July 6, 1973, in Charleston, S.C., she was the daughter of George R. Baker, Cumberland, and Deborah (Wherry) Turner, Newport News, Va.
In addition to her parents, surviving are two stepmothers, Helen A. "Cookie" Baker and Rosalind D. Morris, both of Cumberland; three sons, Michael Scott Nelson, Cumberland, James Julian Allen "Little Jay" Stevens, Jr., and Robert Mathews Mills, both at home; one daughter, Christina Michelle Stevens, at home; two brothers, Richard L. Baker and Chad P. Baker, both of Cumberland; three sisters, Michelle R. Harris, Cynthia L. Cross, and Shunna R. Baker, all of Cumberland; a maternal grandmother, Gladys E. Baker, Cumberland; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence R. Frye officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
NORMA L. STEVENS
FROSTBURG - Norma L. Stevens, 66, of 18224 Borden Yard Road, N.W., died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Jan. 15, 1931, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of Evelyn (Williams) Blank, Mount Savage, and the late Winard Blank.
Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker. She was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church and Farrady Unit #24, American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Darrell Stevens; four sons, Michael Stevens and wife, Debbie, Frostburg, Timothy Stevens, at home, Brian Stevens and wife, Diana, Berryville, Va., and Scott Stevens and wife, Denise, Frostburg; two brothers, Donald Blank, Frostburg, and Robert Blank, Mount Savage; six grandchildren, Garrett Stevens, Heather Stevens, Aaron Stevens, Sarah Stevens, Tyler Stevens, and Shellie Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Harry Brannon, Earl Hopkins, Jack Robeson, George Stevens, Kenny Stevens, and Ronnie Stevens.

ZOLA V. STEVENSON
CRESAPTOWN - Zola V. Stevenson, 61, of Cresaptown, died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 19, 1935, in Meyersdale, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Edith Geisbert.
Mrs. Stevenson was a former employee of Lazarus Lunch Room and Howard Johnson's, LaVale. She was a Methodist by faith.
Surviving are her husband, James W. Stevenson Jr.; two sons, James W. Stevenson III, Cresaptown, and Perry Keith Stevenson and wife Terry, Essex; two sisters, Lorraine and Yvonne; and four grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harold McClay Jr. officiating.

EILEEN L. STEYER
OAKLAND - Eileen L. Steyer, 73, of Oakland, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at her home.
Born Dec. 14, 1923, at Ryan's Glade, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Paul and Eva (Thompson) Harvey.
Mrs. Steyer was a retired florist, having worked at Weber's Greenhouse. She was a member of the White United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Paul E. Steyer; one son, David C. Steyer, Oakland; one daughter, Nellie Kay Harvey, Mount Zion; one brother, Paul S. Harvey, Oakland; one sister, Minnie L. White, Oakland; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the White United Methodist Church on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Harman officiating.
Interment will be in the White Church cemetery.

WILLIAM R. STICKLEY
CUMBERLAND - William Ronald Stickley, 77, of East Mary St., Cumberland, died Saturday, June 7, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 20, 1920, in Springfield, W.Va., he was a son of the late Hite and Elliott Stickley. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Nedra L. Dowden and Frances Dorsey; and one brother, John E. Stickley.
Mr. Stickley was a retired tractor trailer driver for Garland Petroleum. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Cumberland American Legion, Fort Ashby VFW, a life member of Cumberland Outdoor Club, a member of Wiley Ford Sportsmen's Club, and a life member of the F.O.P. Lodge No. 40.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Alberta Stickley; one sister, Betty Eells, Martinsburg, W.Va., one sister-in-law, Ruth Pistorio, Cumberland; and one nephew, Jeff Pistorio, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Orville Thomas officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale. Military honors will be accorded by the combined veterans honor guard.

DOROTHY L. STIMMELL
MOUNT SAVAGE - Dorothy Louise Stimmell, 70, of 15508 Mount Savage Road NW, Mount Savage, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born April 29, 1927, in Barrelsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Tom and Nanny Bell (Scott) Morgan. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Gordon.
Mrs. Stimmell was a retired pharmacists aide with Giant Foods, Baltimore. She was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church, the Mason Dixon Lions Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Company, and Old Rail Post No. 6025 VFW.
She was past president of District 3 Ladies Auxiliary, past president of District 14 Ladies Auxliary VFW, past president of Gunpowder VFW No. 10067 Ladies Auxiliary, and VFW No. 8849 Ladies Auxiliary. She was past president of Cooties Pup Tent No. 22, and past grand president of the State of Maryland Military Order of the Cooties. The last five years she served as VA representative of the VA Medical Center, Cumberland, and was senior vice president of the Disabled Veterans of America.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas E. Stimmell; one son, Robert Gaedke; one daughter, Beverly Walters, both of Bel Air; five brothers, Russell Morgan, Corriganville, David Morgan, Fla., Ronald Morgan and John Morgan, both of Baltimore, and Tom Morgan, Mount Savage; five grandchildren, Karen and David Gaedke, and Thomas, Jeffrey, and Harry Kowaleviec; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard E. Broome Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
