RAYMOND BEEMAN
FROSTBURG - Raymond "Red" Beeman, 76, formerly of Eckhart and Frostburg, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997, at the Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing.
Born Jan. 28, 1921, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Samuel and Laura Jane (Norton) Beeman.

Mr. Beeman had worked at the Palace Theatre and Frostburg State University. He was a member of the Midland Sportsmen's Club and Frostburg Eagles 1273.

Surviving are his wife, Helen (Sperry) Beeman, Frostburg; stepdaughter, Kathy Sell and husband Paul, Cleveland, Ohio; and nephew, Robert Booth, Midland.

The body will be cremated.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Eagles 1273 will hold a service at the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

ROBERT JAMES BEESECK
CUMBERLAND - Robert James Beeseck, 70, of Henderson Avenue, Cumberland, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at his residence.
Born Oct. 16, 1926, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late James Matthew Beeseck and Thelma Leona (Kercheval) Beeseck. He also was preceded in death by one son, Robin Beeseck.

Mr. Beeseck worked at Memorial Hospital as a security guard for many years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Intrepid.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria (Varner) Beeseck; three sons, Robert L. Beeseck and wife Renie, Bedford Valley, Pa., Terry Beeseck and wife Cathy, Headsville, W.Va., and Tracy Beeseck, at home; four grandchildren, Kain Beeseck and wife Deanna, Wiley Ford, W.Va., Christopher Beeseck, Springfield, W.Va., Bobbi Renee Beeseck, Bedford Valley, Pa., and Heather Beeseck, Headsville, W.Va.; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Beeseck; and one great-grandson, Kyle Beeseck.

Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m.

Interment will be in the Fellowship cemetery, Centreville, Pa.

Serving as pallbearers will be Glen Emerick, Larry Moyer, Clarence Clites, Gary Doman, Dave Howe, and Larry Houseworth.

MINTA C. SCHAEFER BEITZEL
GRANTSVILLE - Minta Catherine Schaefer Beitzel, 98, of 8497 National Pike, Grantsville, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born Sept. 24, 1898, in Grantsville, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Annie (Wiley) Resh. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, James Schaefer and Walter Beitzel.

Mrs. Beitzel was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Grantsville.

Surviving are two sons, Mark L. Schaefer and wife Eleanor, Savannah, Ga., and Cecil L. Schaefer, Grantsville; one daughter, Audrey S. Kinsinger and husband Dale, Grantsville; three grandchildren, Allen and Jeff Schaefer, and Tim Kinsinger; and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Schaefer.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating.

Interment will be in Grantsville cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church.

CHARLES W. BELFOURE
CUMBERLAND - A graveside service for Charles William Belfoure will be conducted at Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap on Monday at noon with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley officiating.
The Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, is in charge of the arrangements.

VERONICA BELL
WESTERNPORT - Veronica Bell, 84, formerly of Howard Street, Westernport, died on Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at the home of her daughter in Richmond, Va.
Born July 16, 1912, in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Stakem and Elizabeth (Mullen) Stakem. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Bell, on April 12, 1978; three brothers, Thomas, Patrick and John Stakem; and a sister, Mrs. Marie Mellor.

Mrs. Bell was a graduate of St. Peter's School, Westernport, and Frostburg State University. She was an elementary school teacher until her retirement in 1973. She taught first and second grades at McCoole and Piedmont. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Susan Rosen and husband Larry, Richmond, Va.; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Allison Rosen.

Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, W.Va., on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Woy officiating.

Interment will follow in the Philos cemetery, Westernport.

Family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.

DANIEL E. BENDER SR.
CUMBERLAND - Daniel Eugene Bender Sr., 54, of Michigan Avenue, Cumberland, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 10, 1943, in Cumberland, he was the son of Margaret (Bittinger) Bender, Cumberland, and the late Howard Bender.

Mr. Bender was a former employee of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company and the Cumberland Electric Company. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club, Goodfellowship Club, and the Cumberland American Legion.

In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Susie (Corley) Bender; two sons, Daniel Eugene Bender Jr. and wife Melina, Ringold, Ga., and Donald E. Bender and wife Joni, Mars, Pa.; two brothers, Kenny Bender, Dayton, Ohio, and Gene Bender, Cumberland; two sisters, Susie Lapp and Martha Jankey, both of Cumberland; three grandchildren, Joshua Bender, Joseph Bender, and Brooklyn Lowery; and two dog companions, Heidi and Lucy.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

At Mr. Bender's request, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne R. Turner officiating.

The family requests contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

FLORENCE G. BENNETT
FLINTSTONE - Florence Garnet Bennett, 79, of Green Ridge Road, Flintstone, died Monday, May 19, 1997, at the Northampton Manor Nursing Home, Frederick.
Born April 10, 1918, at Paw Paw, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Marshall Taylor and Loretta Susan (Largent) Farlow. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leo Bennett, on July 5, 1978; one infant son; three brothers, Charles, Robert, and Glen Farlow; and two sisters, Nellie Farris and Eleanor Farlow.

Mrs. Bennett was a retired seamstress with the Lion Manufacturing Co., Everett, Pa. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to William McKinley Smith Post 155, American Legion, Artemas, Pa.

Surviving are one son, Paul Keith Bennett and wife Mary Lou, Columbia; one daughter Constance S. Naylor and husband Lance, Keyser, W.Va.; one brother, Fred Farlow, Lorain, Ohio; two sisters, Helen Cain, Lorain, Ohio, and Ruth White, Shenandoah, Ga.; four grandsons, Kevin D. Bennett, New Windsor, Timothy M. Bennett, Fairmont, W.Va., Brian L. Smith, Keyser, W.Va., and Todd A. Smith, Hanover, Pa.; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Fairview Christian Church, Inglesmith, Pa., on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Dr. Lawrence F. Sherwood Jr. officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.

Interment will be in the Fairview cemetery, Inglesmith.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Baltimore/Central Maryland Chapter, 540 E. Belvedere Ave., Suite 202, Baltimore, MD 21212.

The Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, WV, is in charge of the arrangements.
