THERMAN R. DAVIS
CUMBERLAND - Therman Randoff Davis, 77, of 726 Bedford St., Cumberland, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, at Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.
Born May 24, 1920, in Cumberland, he was the son of Towanda Davis Moss, Washington, D.C., and the late John Davis. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Jean (Anderson) Davis in 1982; and three brothers, John, Kenneth, and Alvin Davis.
Mr. Davis was a retired employee of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. He was a member of the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church, Cumberland. He was a disabled veteran of foreign wars of the U.S. Army in World War II. Mr. Davis was the present Commander of the Aubrey and Robert Stewart V.F.W. Post #5957, Piedmont, W.Va. He was a past member of Fulton Myers Post #153.
Surviving are a daughter, Tonnette Peck, Cumberland; a brother, Randall G. Davis, Silver Spring; a sister, Annabelle Miller, Springfield, Ohio; a dear friend and companion, Novella F. Fisher, Cumberland; two stepdaughters, Eula Crommarty, S.C., and Benita Elvira Denmark and husband, Larry, Piedmont, W.Va.; two stepsons, Roger E. Fisher and wife, Marilyn, Glen Burnie, and Roland K. Fisher and wife Lois, Cumberland; three grandsons, Chris Stewart, Cleveland, Ohio, Mark Stewart, S.C., and Travis Peck, Cumberland; a granddaughter, Shauna Peck, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Darren Allen officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap on Monday at 11 a.m. Full military rites will be accorded at graveside by combined veterans organizations.
Pallbearers will be Brooke Davis, Kenny Davis, Chris Stewart, Larry Banks, Marlon Allen, Donnie Washington, Bobby Johnson, Charles Stewart, and Skip Clifford.
MARIE S. BREWER
LAKE WACCAMAW, N.C. - Marie S. Brewer, 77, of 102 Lake Shore Drive, Lake Waccamaw, formerly of Lonaconing, Md., died Sunday, August 3, 1997, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Born in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kelly) Stewart. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Anne Formy-Duval; and a son, Larry Brewer.
Mrs. Brewer was a retired school teacher's assistant. She was a 1938 graduate of Central High School, Lonaconing, and was salutatorian of her class. She was editor in chief of the school newspaper.
Surviving are her husband, Walter L. Brewer; one sister, Colleen S. Garrett, North Charleston; four grandchldren, Wally Brewer, Kelley Lambert, Beth Formy- Duval and Anna Formy-Duval; and one aunt, Nettie Kelly, Lonaconing.
Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997, in North Carolina.

WILLIAM E. CAMPBELL
MIDLAND - William Edwin "Red Cap" Campbell, 71, of Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of Railroad Street, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was a patient at Egle Nursing Home for one year.
Born Feb. 22, 1926, in Midland, he was a son of the late John J. and Cora (Lancaster) Campbell. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Peg" (Hersick) Campbell, May, 1975; and one son, Vernon Eric Campbell.
Mr. Campbell was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, Midland. He was a life member of Midland Volunteer Fire Department serving over 40 years, a life member of Midland Sportsmen's Club, Alvin C. Neat Post No. 5280 VFW, a U.S. Army Air Force veteran serving in World War II, and a graduate of LaSalle High School, Class of 1944.
Surviving are one son, John "Ed" Campbell and wife Elizabeth, Midland; one sister, Eileen O'Hara and husband Bob, Pittsburg, Calif.; daughter-in-law Nancy Campbell, Midland; four grandchildren, Eric Campbell, Paige Jacobs, Jeremy Jefcoat, and Joseph Jefcoat; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, on Monday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ed Hendricks as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Midland.
A Christian wake service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with Sister Joan Maenner, OSF Pastoral Life Director.
Pallbearers will be Craig Alexander, John Cullen, Mike Spataro, Ronnie Rennie, Ray Cutter, and Jim McMahon.
Alvin C. Neat Post No. 5280 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:15 p.m.
The Midland Volunteer Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
HAROLD W. INSKEEP
CUMBERLAND - Harold Wayne Inskeep, 87, formerly of 451 N. Centre St., Cumberland, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 26, 1910, in Hampshire County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Cornelius and Elizabeth (Hotchkiss) Inskeep. He also was preceded in death by his wife, L. Mildred (Wilson) Inskeep.
Mr. Inskeep was a retired employee of the Celanese Corporation of America with 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church; Western Maryland Central Labor Council AFL-CIO; Senior Citizens of Allegany County; and National Rifle Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Henry Hart Post 1411 VFW; Cumberland Outdoor Club; and AARP. He was a graduate of Catherman's Business School.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are two nephews; and two nieces.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. John J. Duffus officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Burial will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
STANLEY C. DAVIS
CUMBERLAND - Stanley Clifton Davis, 70, of 1 Boone St., Cumberland, who was a beloved husband, cherished father and devoted grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Born July 31, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Brinley Davis and the late Fleda (Gordon) Davis.
Mr. Davis was a retired employee of the B&O; Railroad where he was a crane operator. He was a member of Moose #271, American Legion Post #13, Goodfellowship Club, and the VFW Post #1411. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.
Surviving are a loving wife, Stella (Robinette) Davis, Cumberland; a son, Jeff Davis and wife, Jackie, Cumberland; a daughter, Bonnie Skelley and husband Duane, Cresaptown; six wonderful grandchildren, Andy, Todd and Tyler Skelley, and Jeff, Jr., Brandon and Wendy Davis, who all loved him beyond measure.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis Morris and Shirley Plummer officiating.

JAMES E. BRIDGES
CUMBERLAND - James E. Bridges, 68, of 11821 Messick Road, Cumberland, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, at his home.
Born Nov. 25, 1929, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Howard E. Adams and the late Amanda (Bridges) McCarty.
Mr. Bridges was the retired owner and operator of the 220 North Lounge and Jolly Jim's Tavern. He was a member of American Legion Fort Cumberland Post #13. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are a daughter, Anna Hoyman and husband, James, Cumberland; two special people, Carol Davies and Kitty VanHouten; two brothers, Royce Adams, Rockville, and Leon Adams, Newville, Pa.; four sisters, Phoebe Day, Osterburg, Pa., Ruth Smith, Needmore, Pa., Lurain Cornell, Everett, Pa., and Phyllis Price, Bedford, Pa.; two grandsons, Rick Malcolm and Brian Malcolm; a step-grandson, James Hoyman, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Malcolm, Renee Malcolm, and Raquel "Button" Malcolm; and one step-grandchild, Courtney Hoyman.
