ROBERT K. CAVE
CUMBERLAND - Robert K. Cave, 73, of Bel Air, Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born in Bloomington on May 15, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Pearl M. Cave. A retired Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, he was a member of the LaVale Lions Club, the Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport and McCoole VFW.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beth Cave; three daughters, Lesley Klishis and husband Michael, Morgantown, W.Va., Rae E. Duckworth and husband Mitchell, Frederick, and Renae Emerson and husband Brent, Harrisburg, Pa.; one son, Ralph M. Cave and wife Kim, Scott Valley, Calif.; six grandsons; and two granddaughters.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daren Ritchey officiating.

Burial will be in the Rocky Gap Veterans cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the gravesite by the members of the combined veterans organizations.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Pallbearers will be Michael Klishis, Brian Klishis, Mitchell Duckworth, Matthew Duckworth, Devin Duckworth, and Brent Emerson.

MARGARET E. BOYLE
CUMBERLAND - Margaret Elizabeth Boyle, 75, of Wempe Drive, Cumberland, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 31, 1922, in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late George Walter Geatz and Emma (O'Neill) Geatz. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, James R. Geatz and George W. Geatz Jr.; and two sisters, Anna Lee Ambrose and Mary Virginia Poling.

Mrs. Boyle was retired from the Allegany County Board of Education, where she was employed as the cafeteria manager for Columbia Street Elementary School. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cumberland.

Surviving are her husband, Richard F. Boyle; a son, Robert F. Boyle and wife Linda, Cumberland; a daughter, Patricia Stevens and husband Dennis, Cumberland; two brothers, Joseph Geatz, Laurel, and Thomas Geatz and wife Doris, Cumberland; a sister Clara Mae Clark, Cumberland; one grandson, Robert B. Boyle, Pittsburgh; three granddaughters, Jacqueline A. Reed and husband Bradley, Ashley K. Boyle and Laura D. Stevens, all of Cumberland; and one great-grandson, Brandon J. Reed.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Father Thomas Bevans as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.

A Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m.

LEONA R. BRADLEY
LONACONING - Leona R. Bradley, 96, formerly of 67 Douglas Avenue, Lonaconing, died Saturday, June 28, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born May 21, 1901, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Margaret (Shea) Grimes. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Alger L. Bradley, on May 8, 1964; one son, William L. Grimes; one granddaughter; and three grandsons.

Mrs. Bradley was of the Catholic faith. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Georges Creek, Lonaconing, and Senior Citizens of Barton and Martinsburg, W.Va., Lonaconing Republican Club, and the American Legion James P. Love Post No. 92 Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are one son Robert K. Bradley, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; two daughters, Helen Ann Redick, Coatesville, Pa., and Jean L. Taylor, Martinsburg, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, 8 East Main St., Lonaconing, on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with Sister Marietta Culhane, O.S.F., Pastoral Life Director, officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

A Christian wake service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

LEAH R. DEVAULT
CUMBERLAND - Leah R. DeVault, 95, of Chestnut Street, Cumberland, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 28, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 10, 1901, in Avilton, she was the daughter of the late Herman R. and Jane (Durst) Robeson. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James I. DeVault; one son, William R. Seggie; and two brothers, Ellis and Frank Robeson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate famly.

Surviving are two sons, Robert H. DeVault and wife Patti, Pinto, and Homer E. DeVault and wife Kay, Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Jean E. Breighner, with whom she resided, Ruth M. Golden and husband Arthur, Cumberland, and Brenda A. Sponaugle and husband Paul, Cumberland; one stepdaughter, Bessie Ruby; one stepson, Richard DeVault and wife Marian, all of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and their extended families.

At Mrs. DeVault's request, there will be no visitation. She will be buried in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Highland Baptist Church, Cumberland, on Saturday, April 5, 1997, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jack W. Lancaster officiating.

There also will be a memorial service at God's Ark of Safety Church, Frostburg, at a later date.

The Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements.

ISABELLE CECIL
CRESAPTOWN - Isabelle (Phillips) Cecil, 86, of Cresaptown, died Tuesday, July 15, 1997, at Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 17, 1911, in Cincinatti, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Maude (Preston) Phillips. She also was preceded in death by her first husband Reed L. Chapman, her second husband John R. Cecil; six brothers; and one sister.

Mrs. Cecil was retired from the Celanese Corp. She attended the Cumberland Church of God.

Surviving are one son, Raymond Phillips and wife Patricia, Cumberland; two brothers, Dewey Phillips and Jack Phillips, both of Cumberland; three sisters, Elva Roche and Linnie Jones, both of Cumberland, and Rita Elfritz, Barrelville; five grandchildren, Linda Sue Sonnaliter and husband Jon, Baltimore, Steven R. Phillips and wife Peg, Sondara Porter and husband Gary, Michael Phillips and wife Mary, and Tracy L. Phillips, all of Cumberland; and ten great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at noon with the Pastor Robert W. Fletcher officiating.

Interment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park.

MARY MARGARET GRIMES
CUMBERLAND - Mary Margaret (Cage) Grimes, 83, of Cumberland, died Monday, Sept. 8, 1997, at her residence.
Born March 13, 1914, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Eugene W. and Cora (Norris) Easton. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ira Easton, Franklin Easton, Wilbur Easton; one sister, Goldia Gantt; and one granddaughter, Donna Marie Cage.

Mrs. Grimes, a homemaker, was a person who spent a lifetime caring for and serving others. Her family was always the utmost in her mind. Holidays were very important to her, and this was obvious to all who enjoyed her seasonal holiday displays. As you passed her home on North Mechanic Street, where she had lived for 50 years, colorful, creative decorations were seen on her porch, house and in the yard. She had been recognized many times throughout the years by the North End Association. She was of the United Methodist faith, having been baptized on Apr. 15, 1927, at the Kingsley Methodist Church. In earlier years, she had been involved, along with her daughter, in various mission projects at the First United Methodist Church in West Palm Beach, Fla. Mrs. Grimes was a life member of the Goodfellowship Club, a former member of the Cumberland Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, James J. Grimes; one daughter, Patricia Cage Reneau and husband James, West Palm Beach; three sons, Jack D. Cage, Jr. and wife Ellen, Baltimore; Philip T. Cage and Don R. Cage, both of Cumberland; two sisters, Frances George, Cumberland, Juanita Delaney, Greenbelt; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a special nephew, Eugene D. "Skip" Cramer, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lowell Garland officiating.

Pallbearers will be Larry Bondonese Jr., Len Cage, Sean Hironimus, Eugene Cramer, Joseph "Ike" Kenney, and Mike Dellaterza.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family requests memorial gifts to Park Place United Methodist Church or the Union Rescue Mission.

CONSTANCE D. GOEBEL
FROSTBURG - Constance D. "Connie" Goebel, 80, of 25 Centennial St., Frostburg, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at her home.
Born Jan. 28, 1917, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Agnes (Arnold) McGuire. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Goebel, on Nov. 11, 1983.

Mrs. Goebel and her late husband owned and operated Goebel's Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church, was a charter member of Soroptimist Club of Frostburg, and was active until last year. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mountain Chapter 15, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 24. She was a former member of Maplehurst Country Club, and Oakland Country Club, where she thoroughly enjoyed playing golf.

Surviving are one son, Jim Goebel and wife Susan, Arnold; one daughter, Marie Alsop and husband Bill, Morgantown, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Brian Goebel, Tracy Goebel, Megan lsop and Ryan Alsop; two sisters, Agnes Tierney, Waco, Texas, and Marguerite Hughes and husband Bill, Frostburg; and a special friend, Tom Poland, Keyser, W.Va..

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Soroptimist Club of Frostburg will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George A. Aist officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Fred Knobloch, Tom Skidmore, Ryan Alsop, Brian Goebel, Raymond Hughes and Joe Moran.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or Frostburg United Methodist Church.
