KATHRYN V. GREER
CRESAPTOWN - Kathryn Virginia (Naugle) Greer, 85, of Cresaptown, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at the Arbors Nursing Home, Marietta, Ohio.
Born March 13, 1912, in College Hill, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank Seeley and Mary Bell (Poole) Naugle. She also was preceded in death by her husband William B. Greer on April 4, 1978; two brothers, Andrew and Raymond; and three sisters, Jenny, Olive May and Harriett.
Mrs. Greer was a retired operator from Bell Telephone. She was a member of the Park Place United Methodist Church, the Women's Society of the church, the church flower committee, and the Cresaptown Senior Citizens.
Surviving are three daughters, Carol Gray and husband Skip, Oldtown, Md., Naomi Holt and husband Richard, LaVale, and Dorothy Putman and husband Ben, Marietta; one son, Richard Greer and wife Renee, Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Janet Yandell, Glen Willard, Pa.; three brothers, Frank Naugle and wife Delores, Sherman Oaks, Calif., James Naugle and wife Betty, Cottage Grove, Ore., and John Naugle and wife Doris, Beaver Falls, Pa.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lowell Garland officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
SARAH M. AHERN
WESTERNPORT - Sarah Mae Ahern, 83, of 327 Hammond St., Westernport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 5, 1997, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born June 23, 1913, in Old Fields, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jessie Franklin and Mary Louise (Whetzel) Raines. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Roscoe Ahern Jr., in 1967, and a sister, Pearl Keller.
Mrs. Ahern was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Westernport, and a member of Victory Post No. 155 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She also was a special friend to her children, grandchildren and everyone who knew her.
Surviving are four sons, Richard Ahern and wife Debra, Westernport, Harry Ahern and wife Sandy, Backbone Mountain, Mike Ahern and wife Janet, Fountain, W.Va., Carlton Ahern Jr. and wife Gloria, Salem, Va.; four daughters, Patricia Hartman and husband James, Westernport, Carolyn Sue Durst, Fountain, W.Va, Sharon Daris and husband Jeff, Westernport, Dottie Miller and husband Richard, Westernport; one brother, Ocie Raines Sr., Westernport; and one sister, Ruby Rayner, LaVale; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Victory Unit Ladies Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday at 2:15 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport.
Pallbearers will be James Carlton Hartman, Floyd W. Durst Jr., Jason M. Ahern, Michael Lee Sanders Jr., James Allen Wills, and Joseph Ahern.
KEYSHA C. FOSTER
CUMBERLAND - Keysha Carol Foster, 17, of Jane Frazier Village, Cumberland, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997, at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born Feb. 10, 1980, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of Patricia (Foster) Middleton, Cumberland, and Robert C.J. Martinez. She also was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Irene Powell.
Miss Foster was a Junior at Fort Hill High School. She was a member of the Maryland's Tomorrow Program, Who's Who of America and of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cumberland. She also worked for the Western Maryland Consortium for four years.
Surviving besides her parents are her stepfather, Renaldo E. Middleton, Cumberland; one brother, Johnathan Foster, Cumberland, formerly of N.J.; two sisters, Robin Foster, Cumberland, formerly of N.J., and RaShanna Middleton, Cumberland; maternal grandparents, Carolyn Foster and Claude Foster, N.J.; one aunt, Lynda Martin, Cumberland; one uncle, Shawn Foster, Hawaii; and a host of family and friends.
Friends will be received at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cumberland Street, on Wednesday form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the church on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John B. McIntyre officiating.
Interment will be in Oxen Hill, Md.

MARSHALL H. DURST
GRANTSVILLE - Marshall H. Durst, 83, of 11015 National Pike, Grantsville, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at Meyersdale Medical Center.
Born Aug. 15, 1914, in New Germany, he was the son of the late Marshall and Della (Broadwater) Durst. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Ellis Durst.
Mr. Durst was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he had served as a Trustee and Usher for many years. He was a retired employee for Rodamer Concrete and also was a carpenter and lumberman.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ethelene E. (Broadwater) Durst, whom he married
on Nov. 5, 1938; two sons, Harry Richard Durst and wife, Judith, Sterling, Va., and David L. Durst, Grantsville; one daughter, Joanne Smith and husband, James O., Wilmington, Del.; and four grandchildren, Theresa Durst, Joseph Durst, Michael "Pino" Durst, and Jennifer Smith.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brenda Shreve officiating.
Interment will be in the Grantsville cemetery.
NICOLA V. CATANIA
CUMBERLAND - Nicola V. Catania, 81, of Cumberland, died Friday, July 4, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 30, 1915, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Vincent and Julie (Amido) Catania. He also was preceded in death by his wife Viola (Carpenti) Catania; and two brothers, Joseph Catania and Rinaldo Catania.
Mr. Catania was the former owner and operator of Braddock Liquors, Cumberland. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cumberland Council 586 Knights of Columbus and Christopher Columbus Society.
Surviving are one son, John V. Catania and wife Janet, Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Marianna Prestileo, Philadelphia, Pa., and Norana Catania, Italy; three grandchildren, Anthony Catania, Natalie Catania and Peter Catania, all of Long Beach, Calif.; and one great-grandson, Niko Garcia.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Monday at 9 a.m.
Christian wake will be at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park.
GOLDIE E. ADAMS
CUMBERLAND - Goldie E. Adams, 86, of Eastern Avenue, Cumberland, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997, in the Allegany County Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 19, 1911, in Chaneysville, Pa., the daughter of the late Shannon and Viola Ruby.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Robert Leo Adams, on Dec. 9, 1982; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and a member of the Chaneysville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. Adams, Salisbury, and Rickey Adams, Cumberland; a daughter, Norma J. Davis, Cresaptown; a sister, Pearl, Everett, Pa.; a granddaughter and caretaker, Scip Rodeheaver, Cumberland; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

JUNE D. DYE
MIDLAND - June D. Dye, 73, of Dan's Rock Road, Midland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 1997.
Born Jan. 31, 1924, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late John J. Hausrath and Lena (Duckworth) Hausrath. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Hausrath. She had four brothers and four sisters.
June was the beloved wife of Herbert M. Dye Sr., for 54 years. She devoted her entire life to her family. She was a member of the Midland United Methodist Church. She lived life to its fullest, making each and every day count. She frequently visited friends and acquaintances out of town in Somerset, Uniontown, Johnston, Bedford, and Altoona, Pa., Morgantown, Keyser, and Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Winchester, Va. She highly valued those stop overs as her favorite places to visit when she was away from her residence on Dan's Rock Road, Midland.
Surviving are her children, all who reside locally, Carol Ann (Dye) Robertson and husband Raymond, Midland, Judy L. (Dye) Green and husband Vernon L., Gilmore, Herbert M. Dye Jr. and wife Mary Jane, Frostburg, and Tammy Sue (Dye) Barclay and husband Denny, Cresaptown. She was Ma June to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren in birth order are the following: Trina Maria (Robertson) Benson, Amy Sue Robertson, Christy Lynn Green, Jessica Lynne Green, Abby Sue Barclay, Derek Allen Dye, and Kaitlyn Jane Dye. Her great-grandchild is Katie Marie Benson.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, 8 East Main St., Lonaconing, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Lawrence Frye officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
