MILDRED B. ASH
CUMBERLAND - Mildred Beatrice "Maggie" Ash, 96, formerly of the Cumberland Nursing Home, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born February 23, 1901, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anna (Robinette) Robosson. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Ash; a son, James Ash; eight brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Ash was an employee of Fort Cumberland Hotel and Lucas Service Center, Cresaptown. She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a grandson, David Ash, Arlington, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
AGNES R. DUNCAN
BALTIMORE - Agnes R. (Ward) Duncan, 83, of Baltimore, formerly of Eckhart, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997.
She was born in Eckhart and had resided at her present address in Baltimore for 22 years.
Mrs. Duncan was a housewife and mother. "Mom-Mom," as she was known, enjoyed shopping, reading, traveling, doing puzzles, and attending family gatherings.
She was a devoted mother to Margaret Freal, John Duncan, Claude Duncan, JoAnn Fram, James Duncan, Virginia Ferguson; and a beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Private memorial services will be held.
JACK W. AULT
CUMBERLAND - Jack Wesley Ault, 78, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 14, 1918, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Jacob Ault and Ardella (Cross) Ault Stein. He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara (Ault) Eberstein; one sister, Eva Riggleman; and two brothers, James Ault and Paul Ault.
Mr. Ault was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served with the 305th Ordinance Maintenance Co. in the European Theater. He was retired from the Columbia Gas. Co. of Maryland, and attended Centre Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey (Snyder) Ault; one son, John Wesley Ault and wife Debbi, Baltimore; one daughter, Joy Elizabeth Aaron, Baltimore; two grandchildren, Barbara Suzanne Eberstein, Lusby, and Jefferson Bradley Aaron, Baltimore; and two sisters, Velma Furlow, Mount Savage, and Nevalline Seggie, Cleveland, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 28, 1997, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans cemetery, Rocky Gap.
ELIZABETH GLASGOW
CHEVY CHASE - Elizabeth (Doub) Glasgow, 84, of Chevy Chase, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, March 21, 1997, in Rentham, Mass.
Born Aug. 24, 1912, in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Judge Albert A. Doub and Anne Peyton (Cochran) Doub. She also was preceded in death by brothers, Albert Doub, Cumberland, and George Daub, Baltimore.; and a sister Anne Doub.
Mrs. Glasgow attended schools in Cumberland, and later attended Wells College and the University of Maryland Law School. She served one term as a representative to the Maryland Legislature. During World War II she moved to Washington, D.C., and married
William A. Glasgow, who died in 1983. She was a member of the DAR; Chevy Chase Club; and All Saints Episcopal Church. She was an active golfer, bowler, traveler and bridge player.
Surviving are a son, Andy Glasgow, Washington, D.C.; daughter, Elizabeth Baker, Foxboro, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Joseph Gawlers Funeral Home, Washington, D.C., on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at All Saints Episcopal Church, Chevy Chase, on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Staunton, Va.
MARGARET E. HYDE
GAITHERSBURG - Margaret E. Hyde, 86, of Gaithersburg, died Monday, June 9, 1997, at Shady Grove Nursing Home, Rockville.
She was born October 9, 1910, in Cumberland. She was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Wagner. Her husband, Carl E. Hyde, formerly of Cumberland, died in 1985.
Mrs. Hyde had worked as a telephone operator prior to her retirement.
She is survived by a son, Carl E. Hyde Jr. and his wife Michele C. Hyde, of Washington, D.C.

JOHN C. DUNCAN
FROSTBURG - John C. "Buck" Duncan, 61, of Frostburg, died Sunday, April 27, 1997, at the home of his sister, Sandra DeLorge, in St. Leonard. He had been in ill health since February.
Born Nov. 15, 1935, in Frostburg, he was the son of Novella (Stevenson) Duncan, of Frostburg, and the late Frank Duncan.
Mr. Duncan was employed at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. He was a 1953 graduate of Beall High School and graduated from Strayers Business College, Washington, D.C. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church; American Legion Farrady Post 24; Frostburg Elks 470; Maplehurst Country Club; and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1273. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and will be missed by his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his mother are one daughter, Donna Nolan and husband John, Frostburg; two grandchildren, Shawn Nolan and Sierra Nolan; two brothers, Frank "Woots" Duncan Jr. and wife Marty, Frostburg, and James Duncan and wife Elaine, Glendale; and two sisters, Sandra DeLorge and husband Fred, St. Leonard, and Willa Jean Reed and husband Roy, Frostburg.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. BPOE 470 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George A. Aist officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Farrady Post 24 and VFW Old Rail Post 6025.
Pallbearers will be Bill Monahan, Derek Monahan, Jerry Phillips, Alan George, Bill Kennedy and Bernie Garlitz. Honorary pallbearer will be Butch Rankin.

VIRGINIA HOLLER
CUMBERLAND - Virginia (Free) Holler, 89, of Sylvan Avenue, Cumberland, died Tuesday, April 8, 1997, at her residence.
Born Dec. 13, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Lucullus "Leo" and Sarah Free. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Holler.
Mrs. Holler was a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one stepson, Charles L. Holler, Ridgeley, W.Va.; one stepdaughter, Evelyn Pague, Cumberland; and one stepdaughter-in-law, Margaret Holler, LaVale.
Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral hone on Friday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
