WILLIAM W. YOUNGBLOOD
BITTINGER - William W. Youngblood, 71, died Thursday, May 14, 1998, of cancer, at his Bittinger, Md., home with his family by his side.
Born April 13, 1927, in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Wiley W. Youngblood.
He also was preceded in death by his stepmother, Juanita (Keller) Youngblood; a daughter, Linda McDowell; and grandson Danny.
Mr. Youngblood served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He moved to Baltimore and resided in Dundalk for 33 years.
When he retired from National Wire Products in 1989, he moved to the Deep Creek Lake area.
When he was younger, he enjoyed flying his plane and still enjoyed going to air shows.
He also enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Piney Mountain Hunting Club for the last several years.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Nellie (Harding) Youngblood; his daughters, Judith Graham, Glen Burnie, Sharon Tanner, Forest Hills, and Terry Hall, Edgewood; one granddaughter and four grandsons; close sisters-in-law, Betty Harding and Dorothy Savage; two nephews, Ron Savage and Jim Smith; and other family members and friends.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.
Interment will be in the Cedar Ridge cemetery, Glen Burnie.

CUMBERLAND - Mass of Christian Burial for William Edward Zapf Sr. will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Patrick's cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Jim Collins, Tom McDonnell, Tony Franciosi, Frank Thom, John Dougherty and Bob Madden.
Honorary pallbearer will be Arnold Tichnell.
B. CARLENE ZEHRBACH
CUMBERLAND - B. Carlene Zehrbach, 76, of Cumberland Nursing Home, formerly of Cumberland Manor Apartments, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born April 19, 1921, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Russell and Bernice (Keplinger) Ketterman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raphiel H. Zehrbach in 1992; one brother, Charles Ketterman; and one grandson, Jerry Ray Lease.
Mrs. Zehrbach was a homemaker.
She was a member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Cowden and husband, Earle, Cumberland; Deborah Gray and husband, Paul, Cresaptown; one step-daughter, Patricia Corley, LaVale; one brother, James Ketterman and wife, Wanda, Fort Ashby, W.Va.; one sister-in-law, Mary Ketterman, Cumberland; one sister, Helen Pyles and husband, Ray, Fort Ashby; six grandchildren, Jeff Hammersmith, Jason Hammersmith, both of Cumberland; Jason Gray and wife, Kaylene, Aaron Gray, Joshua Gray, Andrea Gray, all of Cresaptown; and two great-grandchildren, Travis Moyer and Shannan Gray.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
MINOLA G. ZEHRBACH
CUMBERLAND - Minola G. Zehrbach, 95, of Cumberland, died Friday, July 17, 1998, at the Cumberland Nursing Center.
Born July 4, 1903, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Jonas Randolph and Mary Jane (Cameron) Brant.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Dana G. Zehrbach, on Nov. 23, 1990; one son, John J. Zehrbach; and six sisters.
Mrs. Zehrbach was a homemaker.
She was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Cumberland Chapter #56, the former B&O; Mixed Bowling League, the South Cumberland Ladies Card Club, and the Knights of Pythian Sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Darus H. Zehrbach, and wife, Maxine, Cumberland, Dana G. Zehrbach Jr., and wife, Rita, Hawaii; one daughter, Alice L. Zehrbach, Columbia; seven grandchildren, Darus, Dana, Bill, Moira, Martin, Luray and Richard; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The Order of Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and James Mechem.
JOHN R. ZIMMERMAN
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - John Ray Zimmerman, 70, of 7284 Mona Road, Murfreesboro, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
Born June 15, 1928, in Hyndman, Pa., he was the son of the late John Samuel Zimmerman and the late Mable Irene (Logue) Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman was a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Korean War and Vietnam conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Laura Mildred Keathley Zimmerman, Murfreesboro; a son, Michael Ray Zimmerman and wife, Brenda, Mount Juliet; a brother, Harry Logue, Flintstone, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
MARY M. ZIMMERMAN
CUMBERLAND - Mary Margaret Zimmerman, of Cumberland, died Monday, March 9, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James R. and France (Wolfe) Nutter.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Zimmerman.
Mrs. Zimmerman retired after 40 years of service as a social worker for Maryland Social Services.
She was a graduate of Brunswick High School, and received her bachelor's degree in home economics from the University of Maryland.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, and volunteered at Memorial Hospital for 17 years.
Surviving is one sister-in-law, Margaret Boettcher, Hopewell, Va.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Merdith Shryock officiating.
Interment will be in the Davis Memorial cemetery, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be Randy Shaffer, Mike Grabenstein, Pat Corado, Ron Llewellyn, Chester Davis and Bill Spangler.
