MINA J. SMITH
FLINTSTONE - Mina Josephine Smith, 93, of 11900 Green Ridge Road, NE, Flintstone, and residing at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 8, 1904, in Slanesville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Milleson and the late Elizabeth (Milleson) Milleson. She also was preceded in death by five sisters, Lula Moreland, Lillian Eaton, Catherine Fearnow, Marie Paige and Ruth Milleson; and two brothers, Carroll Milleson and Watson Milleson.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Bernard Kimmel Smith, Flintstone; two sons, Vernon Smith and wife Dottie, Chicago, and Arnold Smith and wife Pat, Fairfax, Va.; a daughter, Vianna Fletcher and husband Marshall, Jr., Flintstone; six grandchildren, Debbie (Smith) Williamson and husband Roger, Cumberland, Verna (Smith) Taylor and husband Hal, Covington, Ga., Scott Smith, Chicago, Melvin Fletcher and wife JoAnn, Frostburg, June (Fletcher) Mallow and husband Robert, Flintstone, and Gregory Smith and wife Kimberly, Savage; six great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild; three sisters, Georgiana Wirgman, Daytona Beach, Fla., Margaret Haines, Shanks, W.Va., and Irene Collins, Madison, Va.; one brother, Benjamin Milleson, Springfield, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Smith will be Melvin Fletcher, Robert Mallow, Roger Williamson, Scott Smith, Gregory Smith and Hal Taylor.
SUE C. SMITH
CUMBERLAND - Sue Catherine (Bean) Smith, 81, of Cumberland, formerly of Patterson Creek, W.Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born March 4, 1916, in Moorefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Effenger P. and Maggie (Pope) Bean. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Smith; two sons, John Robert "Buddy" Smith and Carl Joseph "Joe" Smith; and one grandson, Stanley "Joe" Caton.
Surviving are three sons, James E. Smith, Corriganville, Michael E. Smith, Wiley Ford, W.Va., and Thomas E. Smith, Patterson Creek; seven daughters, Martha L. Shepherd, Patterson Creek, Virginia C. Caton, Oldtown, Jean E. Robinette, Wiley Ford, Judy A. Liller, Rose M. Spooler, Patricia M. Knotts and Annette M. Howsare, all of Cumberland; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Milton Hipsley as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Mary's cemetery, Kessell, W.Va., on Friday at 1 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, John Shepherd, Kenny Caton, Fred Caton, Keith Spooler, Tim Liller and Joshua Knotts.
TIMOTHY "GENE" SMITH
CUMBERLAND - Timothy E. "Gene" Smith, 74, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 9, 1924, in Clarysville, he was the son of the late Adam C. and Mary V. (Twigg) Smith. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy R. (Stevens) Smith; three brothers, Raymond Clark Smith, Thomas Granville Smith, William James Smith; and one sister, Evelyn Lewis Bell.
Mr. Smith was retired from the Cumberland Concrete Company, Cumberland, after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was Methodist by faith.
Surviving are his second wife, Thelma (Hyson) Smith; five daughters, Diana L. Bryant, Cumberland, Karen J. Natolly and husband, William, Frostburg, Sharon I. Smith and husband, Donald, Fort Ashby, W.Va., Cheryl L. Sponaugle and husband, Dennis, Wiley Ford, W.Va., and Deborah S. Dillon, Ashburn, Va.; three sons, Robert E. Smith and wife, Sheila, Cumberland, James L. Smith and wife, Joy, Ridgeley, W.Va., and Thomas D. Smith and wife, Barb, Cumberland; one step daughter, Regina Miller and husband, Bill, Martinsburg, W.Va.; one step son, Walter Sonny Crabtree, Romney, W.Va.; two brothers, Donald A. Smith and Wesley L. Roy Smith, both of Cumberland; one sister, Idella Lewis, Cumberland; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Norman Landis officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

WARREN Q. SMITH
MARBELLA, Spain - Marion Q. Smith, 84, of Marbella, died Dec. 28, 1992, at the Residencia Miratorre, Torrenolinos, Spain.
Born Aug. 14, 1908, in Jackson, Minn., she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Hanson) Quinn.
Warren Q. Smith, 55, of Marbella, died Jan. 24, 1993, at the Residencia Carlos Uno, Torrenolinos, Spain.
Born May 15, 1937, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Stanley P. Smith Sr. and Marion (Quinn) Smith.
They are survived by their son and brother, S. Phillips Smith Jr., of Marbella and Oakland, Md.
Following funeral services at the time of their deaths, they were interred in Spain. Recently they were returned to the United States and an interment service will be held in the chapel at Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland, on Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. John A. Grant officiating. Interment will follow.
The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.
GLADYS D. SMOUSE
FROSTBURG - Gladys D. Smouse, 77, of 315 Braddock St., Frostburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born March 7, 1921, in Klondike, she was the daughter of the late George and Viola (Whetstone) Truly. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John J. "Jack" Smouse, on Aug. 16, 1990; one sister, Sarah "Betty" Taylor; and one brother, George "Pete" Truly.
Mrs. Smouse was retired as owner and operator of Smouse's Exxon. She was a member of God's Ark of Safety Church, Frostburg.
Surviving are three sons, Larry K. Smouse and wife Kacia, Davidsonville, John T. Smouse and wife Gail, Baker, W.Va., and Robert A. Smouse and wife Patricia, Flintstone; one sister, Rachel Callin, Frostburg; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at God's Ark of Safety Church, Cherry Lane, Frostburg, on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Green and the Rev. Everett Spence officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Shandra Smouse, Melissa Smouse, Brian Smouse, Jason Smouse and Tyler Smouse.
Honorary pallbearers will be Everett Thompson and George Taylor.
