LUCILLE REED
BALTIMORE - Lucille Reed, 81, of Baltimore, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at her residence.
Born in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Frank Strickler and Jessica (Groves) Strickler.
Mrs. Reed was a seamstress, homemaker and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her brother, Richard Strickler, Keyser, W.Va.; two sons, Frank Reed, Seattle, Wash., and Jay Reed, Palmetto, Fla.; two daughters, Margaret Cesnick, Baltimore, and Cheri Evans, Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Teresa Seekford, Sean Reed, Josi Reed, Kelly Reed, Jennifer Evans and Katharine Evans; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Nicole Seekford.
A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date in Elk Garden, W.Va.

MARY E. REED
LOTHIAN - Mary Elva Greenwell Reed, 79, of Lothian, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at her residence.
Born Feb. 27, 1919, in Barton, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William B. Greenwell, in 1974.
Mrs. Reed attended school in Frostburg. Prior to her marriage, she worked in a garment factory in Frostburg. She was a homemaker and raised her family, later working as a legal secretary for her eldest daughter, Darlene Greenwell Perry, from 1974 to 1980. She enjoyed gardening, reading and travel.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas Reed; daughters, Darlene Greenwell Perry, Bowie, and Vicki Greenwell Doman, Greenbelt; sons, William David Greenwell, Owings, and H. Franklin Greenwell, Lothian; sisters, Dorothy H. Mace, LaVale, and Betty Hyde Tipping, Frostburg; brothers, Donald Hyde, Frostburg, and Herbert Hyde, Lothian; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane, Owings, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Rausch Funeral Home on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Services also will be held at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Friends will be received there one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Laurel Hill cemetery, Moscow Mills.
THOMAS E. REED
CUMBERLAND - Thomas Elmer Reed, 55, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at home.
Born June 15, 1943, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Edwin Reed and Mildred (Humbertson) Reed of Cumberland.
He served in the United States Army from Oct. 6, 1964, to July 25, 1967, and served his tour of duty in Germany with C Company of the 440th Signal Battalion.
He is survived by his widow, Patience Reed; daughter, Krista Reed; two sisters, Genevieve Page, Cumberland and Mary Katherine Liberis and husband, Ron, of Webster, Mass.; and two brothers, James E. Reed and wife, Patty, Renesselaer, N.Y., and Harry "Mac" McClelland and wife, Sylvia, of LaVale; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment and services will be held at Rocky Gap Veterans cemetery at a later date.
HAROLD R. REEVES
WESTERNPORT - Harold R. Reeves, 79, of 24515 Ravenscroft Road, Westernport, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at the VA Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Nov. 12, 1919, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was a son of the late Mae C. and Harry V. Reeves Sr. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie (Krumpach) Reeves, in 1997; and his twin brother, Harry Reeves Jr.
Mr. Reeves was the owner/operator of Harold's Garage in Franklin for 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran; a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion; and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are one daughter, Kitty Reeves, Baltimore; two brothers, James Reeves, McCoole, and Richard Reeves, Westernport; a special friend whom he considered a daughter, Belinda Blubaugh, Lonaconing; and a special friend, Harold Grove, Westernport.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday, Dec. 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Sunday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Lester Clifford.
Interment will be in the Philos cemetery, Westernport.
MARIE REEVES
WESTERNPORT - Marie Reeves, 94, of 23308 Westernport Rd., Westernport, died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
She was born Oct. 24, 1903, near Frostburg, the daughter of the late Henry Fier and the late Anna (Ferrens) Fier. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Vista Mullan, in 1938, and her second husband, Harry V. Reeves, in 1982.
Mrs. Reeves formerly operated a grocery store for 15 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, W.Va.
She is survived by two sons, John Mullan, LaVale, and James Mullan, Westernport; three step-sons, Harold Reeves, James Reeves and Richard Reeves, all of Westernport; two daughters, June Reeves, Westernport, and Margaret Morgan, Cumberland; 12 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett officiating.
Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, the LaVale Lions Club, or to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
CHARLES L. REIBER JR.
LONACONING - Charles Lester Reiber Jr., 59, of 25 Front St., Lonaconing, died Friday, May 29, 1998, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 9, 1938, he was a son of the late Charles Lester Reiber Sr. and Corinne (Miller) Reiber.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local #37. Mr. Reiber was a life member of Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 V.F.W., Lonaconing; a former member of James P. Love Post #92 American Legion, Lonaconing; a member and active participant in local AA Chapter. He also was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. He served as an Army helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War, and continued his military service in the Army National Guard and was slated to retire July 1998.
He is survived by one brother, Harry Eugene Reiber, and wife, Joy Ellen (Brooks) Reiber, Birmingham, Ala.; also, two nieces; two nephews; and three great-nieces.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Sunday, May 31, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday, June 1, 1998, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 V.F.W. will hold a memorial service on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.
Interment will be at Laurel Hill cemetery, Moscow Mills. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 14 Church St., Lonaconing, or to Georges Creek Ambulance Service, 19 Union St., Lonaconing, MD 21539.

JAMES A. REIDLER
FROSTBURG - James A. Reidler, 82, of 11 Mount Pleasant St., Frostburg, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at his residence.
Born May 14, 1916, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late George and Eva (Beal) Reidler.
Mr. Reidler was retired from Potomac Edison Electric Company where he worked as an engineer in the service repair department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Frostburg Elks Lodge #470, Frostburg Moose Lodge #348, Farrady Post 24 American Legion, charter member of Maplehurst Country Club, Frostburg, and a life member of the Frostburg Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mary P. (Hanna) Reidler; a son, George A. Reidler and wife, Karen, Frostburg; a granddaughter, Dawn Reidler; a sister, Mildred Lewis, Frostburg; and two nieces, Janice Robison and Donna Carter.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Frostburg Elks Lodge will hold a memorial service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Boyer officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
The family request memorials be directed to the Home Hospice Care Unit, Memorial Hospital, 600 Memorial Ave., Cumberland, MD 21502.
