HARVEY M. RILEY
OAKLAND - Harvey Merritt Riley, age 79, of 960 Dennett Road, Oakland, died on Friday, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
He was born July 22, 1918, in Oakland, and was a son of the late Albert Otis Riley and Cora (Dellinger) Riley.
Mr. Riley was a retired automobile dealer, having been in partnership with the Ray Teets Garage and later Oakview Motors.
He was a member of the 1935 graduating class of Oakland High School, and a 50-year member of Garrett Lodge #113 Knights of Pythias. He was also a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Edith (Lee) Riley; one son, Elbert Loraine Riley, Rockville; two daughters, Delores Raynovich, and Sharon Grant, both of Mountain Lake Park; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Garrett Lodge #113 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at Bethel United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Hickman officiating.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley cemetery.
The family requests memorials be directed to the Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Southern Garrett Rescue Squad.
KATHLEEN E. RILEY
WESTERNPORT - Kathleen Elizabeth Riley, 69, of Westernport, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home, Frostburg.
Born Feb. 15, 1929, in Luke, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary Catherine (Gormley) McGreevy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Francis Riley.
Mrs. Riley was a homemaker and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia A. Kalbaugh and husband, Charles, Leesburg, Va.; one son, John T. Riley and wife, Karen, Rawlings; three sisters, Agnes Schoppert, Piedmont, W.Va., Ann Pamepinto and husband, Joe, Luke, Margaret Meyer and husband, Phil, Winchester, Va.; one brother, Frank McGreevy and wife, Nancy, Morgantown, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Sean and Katie Riley, Tracy, Kevin and Eric Kalbaugh.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown, on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Reginald Russo, O.F.M., Cap as celebrant.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
The family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, Westernport.
MARGERET K. RINGLER
HAGERSTOWN - Margaret Katherine Ringler, 90, of 20021 Tillman Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born March 23, 1908, at Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester K. Ringler and Ida Smith Ringler.
Miss Ringler graduated from Flintstone High School and later received her bachelor's degree from Western Maryland College and her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, and did further study at Frostburg State University, Temple University and the University of Maryland.
She was employed with the Washington County Board of Education, serving as Principal at Maugansville Elementary School.
She was a life member of the Maryland Congress of Parents and Teachers. She also was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society for key women teachers, the Maryland Teachers Association, the National Education Association, and the 4-H All Stars.
She is survived by a brother, Stanford Ira Ringler, Hagerstown.
Friends will be received at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Graveside services will be conducted at Rest Haven cemetery, 1601 Pensylvania Ave., Hagerstown, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jim L. Hamby officiating.
DOROTHY L. RITCHIE
CUMBERLAND - Dorothy Lee Shrout Ritchie, 70, of 14908 Uhl Highway, S.E., Cumberland, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 6, 1928, in Allegany County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Keyser and the late Georgia (Zimmerly) Everett Keyser. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood David "Bung" Shrout, on Dec. 20, 1971.
She had been employed at Town & Country, Sheetz, and Maryland V.A.
She had a strong and abiding faith in the Lord and was a lifetime member of Davis Memorial Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose, and the Ladies Auxiliary of District #16 Firemen.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda L. Glaze and husband, Richard, Uhl Highway S.E.; two sisters, Betty Glaze and husband, Allen "Buzzy," Fairfax, Va., Joan Valentine and husband, Carl, Little Orleans; and one brother, Earl Keyser Jr. and wife, Mary, Florida.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William H. Bice officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Park.
FRANCES ANN RITCHIE
CUMBERLAND - Frances Ann Ritchie, 69, of Cumberland, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 7, 1928, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the Marie (Gillesppie) Thompson of Moran Manor Nursing Home, and late John Thompson.
Mrs. Ritchie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cumberland.
Surviving are a husband, Raleigh "Pete" Ritchie, Cumberland; three sons, John Ritchie, Cumberland, James Ritchie, Cumberland, and Brian Ritchie and wife Cathy, Ellicott City; two daughters, Kathy Kienhofer and husband, Jim, Frederick, and Diane Garlitz and husband, George, Eckhart; two brothers, James and Joseph Thompson, Westernport; and five grandchildren, Taryn Kienhofer, Brandy Phennicie, Tommy Phennicie, Kayla Ritchie and Kristen Ritchie.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Westernport, with Father Jim Hannon, celebrant.
The cremated remains will be interred at the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap on Monday at 3 p.m.

FRANCIS E. RINKER
CUMBERLAND - Francis Edwin Rinker, 87, of Booth Towers, Cumberland, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
He was born July 6, 1911, in Cumberland, the son of the late James R. Rinker and Effie O'Neal Rinker.
Mr. Rinker was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a life member of Henry Hart Post #1411 V.F.W. Mr. Rinker served with the U.S. Army in World War II where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He also worked construction for many years.
He was the last survivor of his immediate family.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Trapp) Rinker; three sons, F. Blaine Rinker, Baltimore, Edwin Wayne Rinker, Florida, Rodger Wilton Rinker, Canada; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, Baltimore Avenue, Cumberland.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Chapel at Rocky Gap with Chaplain Charles E. Griffith Sr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the local Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
