RICHARD L. PRINTY
ELLERSLIE- Richard Lee Printy, 74, of North Star Road, State Line, died at his residence on Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998.
Born Aug. 6, 1924, in Ellerslie, he was a son of the late Virgil E. and Catherine (Barncord) Printy.
Mr. Printy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane (Mason), whom he married
on Dec. 24, 1945; two sons, James R., married
to Vicki (Zimmerman), of Staunton, Va., and Michael R., married
to Wendy (Gibbner), of Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Janet) Park, Stephens City, Va.; four grandchildren, Danielle (Park) Nutter, of Bridgeport, W.Va., Richard A. Park, of Germany, and Adam P. and Erin R. Printy, both of Staunton; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Printy of R.D. Hyndman, Pa., and Gerald Printy of Ellerslie; and four sisters, Mary (Printy) Logue and Nancy (Printy) See, both of Ellerslie, Diana (Orndorff) Glenn of Cresaptown, and Bonnie (Orndorff) Ruby of Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Printy served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II. He worked as a laborer for Schmidt's Bakery and later as a driver for Spoerl's Pontiac-Cadillac. He attended Calvary Bible Church, Ellersliie.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Leroy Logsdon officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
ADAM E. PRITTS JR.
BLOOMINGTON - Adam E. Pritts Jr., 71, of 97 North Branch Ave., Bloomington, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland, where he had been a resident.
Born on Jan. 5, 1927, in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Adam E. and Jean (Miller) Pritts Sr.
Mr. Pritts was a U.S. Army veteran, and was retired from the Finishing Room of Westvaco Corporation. He was a member of Victory Post #155, American Legion, Westernport.
He is survived by a sister, Jean Bush, of Bloomington; and nieces and nephews, Lori Warnick, Michael Bush, Karen McKone, Buddy Pritts, Bobby Pritts, Lynn Pritts, Kathy Shillingburg and Debbie Jo Pritts.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday, March 31, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted there on Wednesday, April 1, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Donald Nelson.
Interment will be in the Bloomington cemetery, Bloomington.
RAYMOND E. PUFFINBERGER
COLDWATER, Mich. - Raymond E. Puffinberger, 53, of Coldwater, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at the Community Health Center. He had been in ill health for the past four years.
Born Dec. 27, 1944, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph and Ellen (Conner) Puffinberger.
Mr. Puffinberger had worked for the Power Train Division of General Motors for 23 years until 1994 when he was forced to retire because of illness. He moved to the Coldwater area in 1994, from Defiance, Ohio.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Coldwater, and formerly in Defiance. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge and was a social member of the VFW, all in Defiance.
Surviving are his wife, Iris (Riebesehl) Puffinberger, whom he married
on July 27, 1985; two sons, Thomas Puffinberger, Bryan, Ohio, and Scott Puffinberger, Ney, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Shelly Whitaker, Bryan, and Darcy Whitaker, Defiance; a brother, Lester Puffinberger, and sisters, Catherine Brown, Laura D'Angelo, Ester Rummer, Lucy Rummer and Lavina Wolfe, all of Cumberland; and five grandchildren.
The Dutcher Funeral Home, Coldwater, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no services.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
RUTH S. PULLIN
CUMBERLAND - Ruth S. Pullin, 88, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 1998, at her residence.
Born Oct. 26, 1909, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Milton and Lula (Feaster) Simpson. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Pullin, in 1972; six brothers, Paul, Elvin, Mark, Lewis, Kenneth and Wood Simpson; two sisters, Grace Chedester and Mary Hardy; one daughter, Alma Martonsick; and one step-grandchild.
Mrs. Pullin was a homemaker, a member of Bedford Road Baptist Church, and a foster mother to many children.
Surviving are one son, William M. Pullin; one daughter, Ruth A. Puffenbarger; four brothers, Roy Simpson, and wife, Virginia, John Simpson, and wife, Dot, Darrell Simpson, and wife, Eleanor, all of Cumberland, the Rev. Marvin Simpson, and wife, Mary, Graham, N.C.; one sister, Phyllis Warnick; one sister-in-law, Nell Simpson, both of Cumberland; three grandchildren, Mary Whitacre, and husband, Frank; Larry Haines, and wife, Golda, all of Augusta, W.Va.; Blaine Haines, and wife, Judy, Sunderland; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two step great-grandchildren; and seven step great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Bedford Road Baptist Church, Cumberland, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Marvin Simpson officiating.
Friends will also be received at the Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, Va., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Graveside services will be conducted at Clover Creek cemetery, McDowell, on Thursday at noon.
MARY R. PURBAUGH
LAVALE - Mary Rebecca Purbaugh, 93, of Old McDonald Road, LaVale, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, in Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
She was born Sept. 28, 1904, in Meyersdale, Pa., the daughter of the late William H. and Annie (Schultz) Purbaugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Purbaugh, on March 18, 1985.
Mrs. Purbaugh was a member of Grace Brethren Church of Summit Mills, Pa.
Survivors include a son, William J. Purbaugh, and wife, Marian, Mentor, Ohio; a daughter, Carol Louise Phillips, and husband, Ed, of LaVale; a brother, Elmer "Bud" Bowman, Meyersdale; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Albert Valentine and assistant Walter Fike officiating.
Interment will follow in Union cemetery, Meyersdale.
PATRICK W. "PATTY" PURBAUGH SR.
FROSTBURG - Patrick W. "Patty" Purbaugh Sr., 76, of 120 Armstrong St., Frostburg, formerly of West National Highway, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at his residence.
Born April 6, 1922, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late Earl and Theresa (Collins) Purbaugh. He also was preceded in death by five sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Purbaugh was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg. He was retired from the Bell Atlantic Phone Company and formerly was employed as an auto mechanic at the Crowe Pontiac Garage, Frostburg.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Catherine (Welsh) Purbaugh; two sons, Patrick W. Purbaugh Jr., at home, and James D. Purbaugh and wife, Beverly, Finzel; one daughter, Alana Kay Gaynor, Frostburg; five grandchildren, James Dale Purbaugh Jr., Finzel, Dean Patrick Gaynor, Savannah, Ga., Julia Guest, Pontiac, Mich., Darin Paul Gaynor, Laurel, and Jeffrey David Purbaugh, Cumberland; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Michael's Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Byrnes as Celebrant.
Interment will be in Saint Michael's Parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Purbaugh Jr., Jeffrey Purbaugh, Darin Gaynor, Earl Clark, Kenneth Clark, Mike Guest and Buck May.

FROSTBURG - A memorial service for Ida Purgitt will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 58 Broadway, Frostburg, on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Father Tom Staup officiating.
