CARL H. FLETTERMAN
CUMBERLAND - Carl Herbert Fletterman of Cumberland, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at the age of 80, in his home.
Born Oct. 30, 1917, he was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Fletterman; and his wife, Mary Isabelle Fletterman.
He is survived by one sister, Laverne Robertson, and husband, Kenneth, of Cumberland; two daughters, Estella Sue King and husband, Jack, of Clearville, Pa., and Vicki Ann Rickelmann and husband, Martin, of Cumberland. He has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Cumberland VFW, the American Legion, and was a former Commander of the DAV. He was retired from the Federal Government.
A graveside service will be held at St. Mary's cemetery on Wednesday, March 18, at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carl's name to the American Cancer Society.

VIRGINIA "GINNY" STECKMAN GREEN
CUMBERLAND - Virginia "Ginny" Lee (Steckman) Green, 56, of Cumberland, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 4, 1942, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Beulah Mae (Simmons) Simpson of Cumberland and the late Elwood Victor Simpson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Green, on July 29, 1997.
Mrs. Green was formerly employed at Sacred Heart Hospital in housekeeping. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose, the Republican Club, and before her illness she was active in the Cresaptown Eagles, and the Goodfellowship Club of Cumberland.
Surviving are a son, Robert M. Steckman Jr., and wife, Jody, Cumberland, a son, Wayne A. Steckman, and special friend, Amy Norris, Cumberland; three sisters, Emma Jean Davis, Front Royal, Va., Sandy Stallings, Mesquite, Texas, Peggy Clinebell, Garland, Texas; five grandchildren, Jennifer Steckman, Sara Steckman, Nathan Steckman, Andrea Steckman and Kayla Steckman; three step grandchildren, Adam and Brooke Clark and Bradley Green; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. George R. Loar officiating.
ISABELL GREEN
CUMBERLAND - Isabell "Issy" Green, 84, of 500 Kingsley Place, Cumberland, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Aug. 6, 1914, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Edith Taylor, of Cumberland, and the late Jacob Taylor. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Green; two grandchildren, Ernest Green Jr. and Shawn Lopez; one great-grandchild, Bianca Faye Redman; two sisters, Edith Dean and Virginia Beckward; and two brothers, Earl Taylor and Henry Taylor.
Mrs. Green was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, Ernest L. Green and wife Virginia, and Stephen L. Green and wife Cheryl, all of Buffalo, N.Y.; three daughters, Faye Cole, Cumberland, Rosalie Lopez, Moorefield, W.Va., and Sherry A. Clay and husband Victor, Piedmont, W.Va.; four brothers, Howard Taylor, Jacob Taylor and wife Lavine, and Ray Taylor, all of Cumberland, and Phillip Taylor, Buffalo; three sisters, Dorothy Purchase, Washington, D.C., Bertha Hurt, Buffalo, and Mary Jane Twyman, Cumberland; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Curtis officiating.
Interment will be in the Woodlawn cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Green's grandsons, Angelo Lopez, Aaron Cole, Victor Clay II and J.R. Scott Jr.
MAE ROSELLA JOHNSON
FROSTBURG - Mae R. Johnson, 89, of 30 Hill St., Frostburg, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born April 26, 1909, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Eliza E. (Green) Rosenberger. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Johnson, in February 1986; and one son, John L. Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Frostburg. She was a retired cook from Al's Restaurant, Frostburg.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty J. Bridges, Whiting, N.J., and June L. Seib and husband, Leo, Melvindale, Mich.; one son, Wayne E. Johnson and wife, Deborah, Vale Summit; two sisters, Iva Via, Morantown, and Winona Ream, Easton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ron Boyce officiating.
Interment will be in the Grantsville cemetery.
THOMAS W. HOUSER
CUMBERLAND - Thomas Wesley Houser, 99, of 1927 Frederick St., Cumberland, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at Penn Knoll Village Nursing Home, Everett, Pa.
Born Oct. 5, 1898, near Rainsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late William A. and Susan (Barthlow) Howsare. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Myrtle (Hartley) Houser, in 1987; two brothers, William Howard Howsare and Samuel Dewey Howser; and three sisters, Melissa McElfish, Carrie Leasure and Myra Everett.
Mr. Houser was a retired truck driver for Gulf Oil Co. He was an avid sportsman and a hunter.
Surviving are one brother, Carl Howsare and wife Mable, RFD 3, Bedford, Pa.; two half brothers, Robert Howsare, RFD 4, Rainsburg, Pa., and Earl Howsare and wife Margaret, Moundsville, W.Va.; three sisters, Ada Morgan, LaVale, Nellie Ryan, RFD 3, Bedford, and Ethel Carbaugh, Cumberland; two half sisters, Gladys Bozych, Waukegan, Ill., and Betty Mehaffey and husband Bruce, Chambersburg, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St. Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
DOROTHY M. PETERS KING
CUMBERLAND - Dorothy Mae Peters King, 81, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born July 6, 1916, in Vanderlip, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James Harvey Proudfoot and Martha Ellen (Maphis) Proudfoot. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Robert King, in Oct., 1992; a daughter, Arbutus Peters, in 1996; and a son, Richard Peters.
Mrs. Peters was a member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church and was the last surviving member of her family.
Surviving are four sons, Floyd Peters and wife, Juanita, Paw Paw, W.Va., Ronald Peters and wife, Mary Helen, Short Gap, W.Va., the Rev. James K. Peters and wife, Candy, Cresaptown, and Larry Peters, York, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, 477 Eastern Ave., Cumberland, with the Rev. James K. Peters officiating. Mrs. Peters will be taken to the church one hour before service time.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Peters, Robert Peters, Tim Wotring, Gerald Hinkle, Steven Wilson, and Rob White.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap, Cumberland.
GRACE V. HOPPERT
CUMBERLAND - Grace Virginia Hoppert's cremains will be interred at the Garden of Faith cemetery, Baltimore. Graveside services will be conducted at the cemetery, Wednesday at 1 p.m.

NAOMI L. KUHNLE
SWANTON - L. Naomi Kuhnle, 81, of Kuhnle Drive, Swanton, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Aug. 26, 1916, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late John and Mahala (Ternent) Grindle. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John S. "Stu" Kuhnle, in 1971; two brothers, John Grindle and Melvin Grindle; and by one sister, Elsie Klipstein.
She was a graduate of the Central High School, Lonaconing, Class of 1932, and attended Frostburg State University, formerly Frostburg State Teachers College. In 1986, she retired as a realtor from the Haywood Realty Company. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Oakland.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith Kuhnle, Frostburg, and Jeanne Nichols, Oakland; one sister, Virginia Porter, Anaheim, Calif.; and one special and much loved grandson, ESN Christopher J. Nichols, U.S. Navy, Newport, R.I.
Her family invites you to join them in a celebration of her life at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Staup officiating. Cremation will follow, with interment of the cremains in the Philos cemetery, Westernport, at a later date.
