JAMES E. GEORGE
GRANTSVILLE - James Emerson George, 77, of P.O. Box 335, Grantsville, passed away Sunday, July 5, 1998, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
He was born at Keysers Ridge on Oct. 11, 1920, the son of the late Melchor and Louisa (Smearman) George.
He was self-employed for many years in Ford tractor and coal strip-mining business. He retired from the Garrett County Board of Education. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran ELCA Church in the Cove. He was a life member of Frostburg Farrady Post #24 American Legion, a life member of Frostburg B.P.O. Elks #470, a member of Grantsville W.O.W. Camp #41. He also was a manager of the Keysers Ridge "Bucks" baseball team, which was a charter member of the Penn Mar League, and won the playoffs and pennant in 1953.
He is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Dottie (Phillips) George, Grantsville; one daughter, Dottie Gilpin, and friend Marshall Sandene, Orlando, Fla.; daughters-in-law, Janet Edmiston, Bowling Green, and Barbara George, Frostburg; four grandchildren, Charles Edmiston Jr., Kimberly Rotruck, Danielle Gilpin and Jamie George; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. John's Lutheran ELCA Church in the Cove on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roland Nairn officiating. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to St. John's Lutheran ELCA Church in the Cove or to Garrett County Hospice.
Military rites will be accorded by Frostburg Farrady Post #24 American Legion.
THOMAS D. KELLY
WESTERNPORT - Thomas Donald Kelly, 56, of Beyda Harbour, Pasadena, and formerly of Westernport, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at North Arundel Hospital, Glen Burnie.
Born March 12, 1942, at Westernport, he was the son of the late Geraldine (Kelly) Miller. He was also preceded in death by an uncle, James Cirillo.
Mr. Kelly was a school Principal, having retired from Bodkin Elementary School, Lakeshore, in 1992, with 25 years of service.
Mr. Kelly is survived by one brother, Mark Miller, Baltimore; two aunts, Reginia Cirillo and Delores Michael, both of Westernport; cousins, Linda Lanham, Glen Burnie, Cobi Klingmeyer, Pennsylvania, and Russell Michael, California.
Friends will be received at the McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, Pasadena, on Wednesday, Dec. 23, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at St. Peter's cemetery, Westernport, on Saturday, Dec. 26, at 11 a.m. with Father James Hannon officiating.

AARON T. HITE
CUMBERLAND - Aaron T. Hite, 25, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at his home.
Born in Cumberland on April 20, 1973, he was the son of Walter R. Hite Jr. and wife, Martha, Cresaptown, and Judy A. (Sencindiver) Emmart and husband, Robert, Cumberland.
Mr. Hite was employed by the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in the warehouse, and he was a member of the Living Stone Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancee, Kimberly A. Stickley; a son, Brady A. Hite; and a daughter, Shelby L. Hite, both of Cumberland; two brothers, Philip Hite, Cumberland, and Sean Hite, Cresaptown; a stepbrother, Jeffrey D. Emmart, Greencastle, Pa.; his maternal grandfather, Harold B. Sencindiver; and paternal grandparents, Walter and Audrey Hite, all of Cumberland. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy L. Monn officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Philip Hite, Jeffrey Emmart, Galen Bridges and Brian Snurr.
BLANCHE FEARNOW
FISHERVILLE, VA. - Blanche Middleton Fearnow, 79, formerly of Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at the Shenandoah Nursing Home, Fisherville.
Born April 12, 1918, in Carlos, she was the daughter of the late James and Eliza (Hughes) Middleton. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Speir; her second husband, Clarence L. Fearnow; and a brother, John Ray Middleton, who died in World War II.
Mrs. Fearnow was active in the United Methodist Church. She formerly was employed by the Celanese Fibers Corp. before becoming a secretary at an insurance office.
Surviving are two step-daughters, Linda F. Quimby, Staunton, Va., and Betty F. Rosengren, Monument, Colo.; three sisters, Lois Barnett, LaVale, Md.,Matilda Campbell, Barberton, Ohio, and Mae Williams, Swanton, Md.; and six step-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Md., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
PATRICK KENNY SR.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Patrick Joseph Kenny Sr., 47, died Jan. 14, 1998, at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
Born July 7, 1950, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Anna and James E. Kenny, Sr.
Mr. Kenny moved to Anchorage in January, 1982. He was branch manager for Cummins Northwest, and was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, and a member of the Police Reserves with the Anchorage Police Departrment. A black belt, he enjoyed Shotokan karate as well as skiing, camping, boating and fishing.
"He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, with an intense sense of humor. His generosity and kindness were without boundaries. He will be missed with all our hearts," his family said. "Dad had developed a great belief in angels; we know that he is now one."
Mr. Kenny is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue (Albright) Kenny of Anchorage; daughters, Susan Lynn and Shannan Leigh Kenny; sons, Patrick Joseph, Jr., and Stephen Christopher Kenny; and granddaughter Bethany Miranda Kenny. He also leaves his brothers, James Kenny, Dublin, Va., and William Kenny, Westernport; and sisters, Mary Ellen Moran, Westernport, and Martha Ann Podelco, Cumberland.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, 2111 Muldoon Rd., Anchorage, with vigil service beginning at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Saint Patrick's and will be officiated by the Reverend Steven Moore. Pallbearers will include Mr. Kenny's sons, Patrick and Stephen, and members of the Anchorage Police Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Simono and Mark Yost. Mr. Kenny's ashes will be scattered on the Kenai River and Hatcher's Pass at a later date.

ROBERT E. HOBELL
CUMBERLAND - Robert Ernest Hobell, 51, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 29, 1946, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Keller) Hobell. He also was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Cole Hobell.
Mr. Hobell was a supervisor in the Development Department at Kelly Springfield Tire Co. He was a graduate of Fort Hill High School and a member of the Cresaptown Eagles 2883.
He is survived by Kathie Lynn (Cosgrove) Sweitzer and her daughters, Shelley A. Sweitzer, and Carrie M. Robertson and husband Michael, all of Cresaptown; two sons, Shawn R. Hobell and Danielle Wilhelm, and Brian K. Hobell and wife Billie, all of Cumberland; his former wife, Sandra D. (Burley) Hobell, Cumberland; one sister, Marie Mullan and husband John, LaVale; five grandchildren, Breanna K. Hobell, Bethany J. Hobell, Chelsea L. Robertson, Tyler M. Robertson and Austin T. Wilhelm.
