PAUL T. BYRNE
CRESAPTOWN - Paul Timothy Byrne, 73, of Cresaptown, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Feb. 28, 1925, in Ocean, Md., he was the son of the late John and Martha (Bush) Byrne.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1982.

Mr. Byrne was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Battle of the Bulge.

He was retired from the K.O.. Oil Station, where he was the manager.

Mr. Byrne was Catholic by faith. He was a member of F.O.E., Aerie #2883, Cresaptown; American Legion Post #24, Frostburg; V.F.W. Post #6025, Mount Savage; and was a charter member of the Maryland Sheriffs' Institute.

Survivors include his special friend, Mary Blubaugh; one brother, Larry Byrne, Dayton, Ohio; and one sister, Margaret Plummer.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., corner of Greene and Smallwood Streets, Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Reginald Russo, OFM, Cap, officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

Military honors will be accorded by the local Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Cult, Tony DeArcangelis, Graydon Dunlap, Jim Edmiston, John Shipley and Donny Ward, all members of the honor guard.

PAUL W. DAVIDSON
CUMBERLAND - Paul William Davidson, 69, of Oldtown Road, Cumberland, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 26, 1928, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Paul N. and Mary Elizabeth (Kaylor) Davidson.

Mr. Davidson was a machinist for the B&O; Railroad, Chessie and CSX Transportation, where he retired with 37 years of devoted service in 1982. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cumberland, and a lifetime member of Local 212 International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for over 50 years.

Surviving are his loving wife, Bertha V. (Heller) Davidson; three sons, Joseph D. Kelly Jr., Paul M. Davidson Sr., and John E. Davidson Sr., and wife, Rose, all of Cumberland; three daughters, Vicki Bartholomus, California, Debbie A. Nixon, and husband, John, Valley Road, and Paula A. Davidson, Cumberland; two brothers, Charles E. Davidson and Harold F. Davidson, both of Cumberland; one sister, Katherine Pauline Thomas, Arbutis; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark C. Dill officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

MARY C. BYSTRY
CUMBERLAND - Mary Catherine (Bush) Bystry, 83, four-year resident of Cumberland, formerly of Glen Burnie, died of double pneumonia on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Her husband, Harry J. Bystry, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bystry was born July 9, 1915, in Pittsburgh. She completed school through the twelfth grade and was employed by the Anne Arundel County school system. Her hobbies were window shopping, bingo and TV.

She is survived by her sister, Genevieve Shook, Cumberland.

Visitation will be held at the Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Ave. at Crain Highway, Glen Burnie, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold Netzer officiating.

Interment will be in the Cedar Hill cemetery, Brooklyn Park.

EMMA WILLARD DARR
CUMBERLAND - Emma Willard Darr, 88, of 349 Bedford St., Cumberland, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 1, 1910, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Thompson Wheller Davis and the late Rosalie (Brotemarkle) Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Allen Darr, in 1961.

Mrs. Darr was a member of First Baptist Church, Cumberland Chapter #56 Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile #118, and Ladies Shrine Club.

Surviving are her son Richard T. Darr and wife, Jackie, Cumberland; a sister, Thelma Hewitt, College Park; two granddaughters, Tammy Darr and Diana Darr, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Sherrill Dillon officiating.

Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

MILDRED L. BOYCE
LAVALE - Mildred Louise Boyce, 83, of LaVale, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, in Lions Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1915, in Piedmont, W.Va., the daughter of the late Clarence M. and Rose (Lee) Grady. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Boyce was a housewife and was a member of the LaVale United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, L.R. "Tommy" Boyce; a son, Thomas Richard Boyce and wife, Minnie, LaVale; and a daughter Lucinda Lee Cessna and husband, Joseph, LaVale; three grandchildren, Victor Boyce, Tyler, Texas, Julie Spies, Hagerstown, and Todd Hensley, Weirton, W.Va.; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Boyce was the last remaining member of her immediate family.

Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Doug Strother officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be members from the Ali Ghan Shrine Desert Legion Unit.

JOSEPH EDWARD EICHHORN
FROSTBURG - Joseph Edward Eichhorn, 67, of 140 Ormond St., Frostburg, died Friday, June 19, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 13, 1930, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Kathleen H. (Burdock) Eichhorn Jr. He also was preceded in death by one brother, William W. Eichhorn.

Mr. Eichhorn was a former brick mason for Bricklayers International Union of America, Local #6 of Cumberland for 40 years.

He was a member of the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church, Frostburg.

Surviving are his wife, Gwendolyn Marie (Brant) Eichhorn; two sons, Alan W. Eichhorn, Frostburg and Edward J. Eichhorn, and wife, Theresa, Lusby; one sister, Mabel L. Hetz, and husband Paul W., Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Dale R. Eichhorn, and wife, Susan E., Green Cove Springs, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Jarrett A. Eichhorn and Ashley N. Eichhorn; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church, Frostburg, on Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. William G. Boyer officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.

Pallbearers will be James Smith, Russell Hadley, Matt Eichhorn, Samuel Rankin, Rick Hager and Mark Alexander.

Memorials may be directed to the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church in his memory.
