MAMIE H. BROADWATER
SWANTON - Mamie H. Broadwater, 94, of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, formerly of Spring Lick Road, Swanton, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 4, 1904, at Bond, Md., she was the daughter of the late Jonas and Edith Broadwater.
Mrs. Broadwater was a homemaker and a member of the Dunkard Brethren Church, Broadwater Chapel, Savage River Road.
Surviving are her husband, Ellsworth Broadwater, Frostburg Village Nursing Home; one brother, Alva Broadwater, Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home; two sisters, Sadie Wilt, Loch Lynn, and Lavada Bittinger, Rawlings.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Elder Virgil Leatherman and Elder Gene Kauffman officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
MABLE G. CROWFIS
CUMBERLAND - Mable G. Crowfis, 71, of Moores Hollow Road, Cumberland, died Saturday, July 4, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 24, 1926, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late Doc Harman and Mary Piper Harman King. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel R. Crowfis Sr.; one daughter; three sisters; and five brothers.
Mrs. Crowfis was a Homemaker and a Member of the Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Cumberland.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Jo Glaze, and husband, Brian, Donna Ray Hare, and husband, Ronald, all of Cumberland; two sons, George L. Harman Sr., and wife, Alma, Cumberland, Samuel R. Crowfis Jr., Greencastle, Pa.; one brother, Clifton H. Harman, and wife, Janet, Cumberland; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Denny A. Michael officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial cemetery.
CLARENCE W. ANDREWS
LAVALE - Clarence William Andrews, 77, of 237 National Highway, LaVale, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 20, 1920, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late Robert William Andrews and the late Elizabeth May (Rizer) Andrews. He also was preceded in death by two brothers; and three sisters.
Mr. Andrews was a retired employee of Acme Market as a meat cutter. He was a member of Melvin United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Lay Leader, Lay Speaker, and Treasurer of the Sunday Night Bowling League. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Flossie M. (Murray) Andrews, LaVale; four sons, Robert Andrews and wife, Patricia, Frostburg, Thomas Andrews and wife, Rebecca, Harrisburg, Pa., Terry Andrews and wife, Carol, LaVale, David Andrews and wife, Carol, Cumberland; a daughter, Donna Young and husband, Stewart, Fredericksburg, Va.; a brother, Thomas Andrews and wife, Anna May, Mount Savage; a sister, Gladys Smith, Brunswick, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Iva Andrews, Hagerstown, and Mary Ann Andrews, Corriganville; seven grandchildren, Bryan Andrews and friend, Jennifer Martin, Frostburg, Rachel Anderson and husband, Donald, Keller, Texas, Todd Andrews and wife, Christine, Cumberland, Wayne Andrews and friend, Sabrina Parsons, Cumberland, Michael Andrews, LaVale, Eric Andrews, LaVale, and Tracey Andrews, Cumberland; two great-grandchildren, Faith Andrews and Thomas Andrews, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Richard Leslie officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Melvin United Methodist Church or to Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
ROBERT F. CROWFIS
CUMBERLAND - Robert F. Crowfis, 81, of Cumberland, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at Allegany County Nursing Home, Cumberland.
Born June 17, 1916, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Samuel J. Crowfis and Fannie (Snyder) Crowfis Wolfe. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Raymond Crowfis; and two sisters, Hazel Crowfis and Mary Crowfis.
Mr. Crowfis was retired from Beerman Auto Parts as a glass installer after 45 years of service. He was a Methodist by faith.
Surviving are one brother, Thomas W. Crowfis Sr., Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Denny A. Michael officiating.

MAURICE E. BROADWATER
WESTERNPORT - Maurice E. Broadwater, 71, of Westernport, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, at Franklin Square Hospital, Baltimore.
Born April 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Harmon J. Broadwater and Anna B. (Gardner) Broadwater. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Allen and Lloyd C. Broadwater; a brother-in-law, Harry Liller; and a special nephew, Jerry Tichnell.
Mr. Broadwater was a World War II veteran, a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, and he was a Methodist by faith but attended different churches.
Surviving are five sisters, Kathryn Liller, Keyser, W.Va., Eulah Fazenbaker and husband, Vernon, Swanton, Norma Jean Hoffman and husband, Harry, Fort McCoy, Fla., Bernice Tichnell and husband, Gilbert, McCoole, and Betty Brennan and husband, Robert, Frostburg Village Nursing Home; two brothers, Charles Broadwater and wife, Sue, Keyser, W.Va., and Richard Broadwater and wife, Irene, Keyser; a special nephew, Junior Fazenbaker, Barton; and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Steffan Carr officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill cemetery, Moscow Mills, with full military honors accorded at graveside.
JOSEPH F. ANDREWS
CUMBERLAND - Joseph Francis Andrews, 84, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at his residence.
Born Oct. 24, 1914, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Mary (Bealky) Andrews. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Grace (Murray) Andrews, on Nov. 11, 1996; and five brothers.
Mr. Andrews was the former owner and operator of Joe's Texaco Service Station on Oldtown Road for 46 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Henry Hart Post 1411 VFW, and American Legion Fort Cumberland Post 13.
Surviving are four sons, Donald Andrews, Charles Andrews and wife Virginia, all of Cumberland, James Andrews and wife Dawn, Clearville, Pa., and Michael Andrews and friend Pat, Cumberland; seven daughters, Nancy Saville and husband James, Hampton, Va., Ruth Wolford, Oldtown, Joan Greise and husband Frank, Cumberland, Mary Squires and husband Ronald, Flintstone, Frances McFarland and husband Donald, Ridgeley, W.Va., Rebecca Wright and husband Michael, Lynchburg, Va., and Teresa McCusker, Alexandria, Va.; two adopted children, Mary Bishop and husband Kevin, and Terri Richardson and husband Jim, all of Cumberland; one sister, Mary Dressman, LaVale; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cumberland, on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
