BARRE -- Vesta G. (Lincoln) Flagg, 83, formerly of Barre, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Quabbin Valley Health Care, Athol.
Her husband, Rodney C. Flagg, died in 1990. She leaves three sons, Paul Flagg of Hubardston, Rodney Malony of Orange and Allan Flagg of Barre; four daughters, Doris Malony of Worcester, Rosemary Pinn of Athol, Janet Smillie of Sandwich and Mabel Keddy of Medicine Bow, Wyo.; a sister, Lois Lincoln of Basking Ridge, N.J.; 18 grandchildren; nine grandchildren; three nephews. She was born in Barre, daughter of James and Mabel G. (Dewing) Lincoln. She attended Simmons College.
Mrs. Flagg was a member of the former United Methodist Church and the 4-H program in Barre.
The funeral service will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main St., Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 St., Holden, is directing arrangements.

STERLING -- Helen G. (Bullard) Flanagan, 89, of Johnson Road, a retired teacher, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital, after an illness.
Her husband, Michael J. Flanagan, died in 1970. She leaves two sons, Michael J. Flanagan of Sterling and Paul J. Flanagan of West Boylston; a daughter, Joyce H. Flanagan of Novato, Calif.; a brother, Robert L. Bullard of Sterling; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Albert O. Bullard Jr. and Fred G. Bullard, predeceased her. She was born in Sterling, daughter of Albert O. and Florence S. (Gibbs) Bullard. She graduated from Leominster High School, and was a 1933 graduate of Wheelock College, Boston. She attended Skidmore College in Sarasota, N.Y.
Mrs. Flanagan was an elementary school teacher in Sterling for 30 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church, the Sterling Women's Club and the Massachusetts Teachers Association. She was past president and treasurer of the Parent-Teacher Association of Sterling.
The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St. Burial will be private in Oak Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Flanagan Memorial Fund, Sterling Education Association, c/o Houghton Elementary School, 32 Boutelle Road, Sterling, MA 01564. Ruth C. Fletcher, 85

LEOMINSTER -- Ruth Copeland Fletcher, 85, of Keystone Drive, formerly of Newburyport and Amesbury, retired teacher, died Saturday, Feb. 2, in Keystone Nursing Center after an illness.
Her husband, Frank Fletcher, died in 2000. She leaves three sons, Crispin Fletcher of Bedford, Darby Fletcher of Iquique, Chile, and Jon Fletcher of Winchendon; and four grandchildren. She was born in Townsend, daughter of Robert and Eva G. (Smith) Copeland, and lived in Newburyport, Wilton, N.H., and Amesbury before moving to Leominster. She attended Townsend schools and received bachelor's and master's degrees in philosophy from University of Michigan.
Mrs. Fletcher taught in Townsend schools and worked at Boston University Law School before retiring. She then traveled frequently with her husband and enjoyed music. She was involved with area choral organizations.
A private funeral service will be held in the spring. There are no calling hours. M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., is directing arrangements.
Sister Estelle Forand

MARLBORO -- Sister Estelle Forand, 85, a Sister of St. Anne, known in her order as Sister Mary Florestine, died Saturday, Jan. 26, at Marie Esther Health Center.
She leaves a brother, the Rev. Clarence W. Forand of Belchertown; and nieces. She was the daughter of William and Flora (Ayr) Forand. She graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester. She earned teaching credentials from Marianapolis College, Montreal, and from the University of Montreal. She obtained a diploma in home economics from St. Jacques Institute, St. Jacques, Quebec, and a bachelor of arts degree from Anna Maria College, Paxton.
In 1941, she entered the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Anne in Lachine, Quebec, and pronounced her first vows in 1943. She remained in Canada for 39 years and was a teacher. She was also a principal and superior. After transferring to the U.S., she was assigned to Anna Maria College, Paxton, as superior and technical aide in the college library. In 1987, she moved to St. Anne Residence rendering many different services, such as local coordinator, driver, and assistant seamstress. She entered Marie Esther Health Center in 1994.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in the convent chapel of the Sisters of St. Anne, 720 Boston Post Road, with burial in Saint Mary's Cemetery. Sullivan, Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, Lincoln St., is directing arrangements.
Royal A. Forssen, 83

CLINTON -- Royal A. Forssen, 83, of 367 Water St., formerly of Acre Street, died Friday, Feb. 1, in Oakdale Nursing Home after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Ester M. (Turini) Forssen; two daughters, Cynthia Sheridan of Clinton and Deborah Hill of Westminster; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Forssen owned and operated the former F.H. Tool and Die Company for many years, before retiring.

Virginia R. Francis, 82; had 17 great-grandchildren

BOYLSTON -- Virginia R. (King) Francis, 82, of 400 School St., died Friday, Jan. 25, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester.
Her husband of 14 years, Robert D. Francis Sr., died in 1954. She leaves a son, Kenneth G. Francis of Boylston; four daughters, Suzan Anne V. Horne of Sutton, Rosalind "Lynn" Sanborn of Hubbardston, Dorothy R. Page of Sutton, Debra L. Flannagan of Rutland; a brother, Richard I. King of Worcester; 33 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert D. Francis Jr., predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of William G. and Waite (Littlefield) King, and moved to Boylston in 1953. She graduated from South High School, Worcester.
Mrs. Francis was a bus driver for the town of Shrewsbury. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Boylston, its Woman's Fellowship Group and was a Sunday school teacher. She was an avid gardener.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the First Congregational Church of Boylston, 7 Church St. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. WORCESTER -- Peter W. Gagas, 84, of 153 Country Club Blvd., died Monday, Feb. 4, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Margaret W. (Stone) Gagas; a son, Charles E. Gagas of Princeton; and a grandson. Three brothers and two sisters predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Kastantas and Beatrice (Pouras) Gagas and lived several years in New York City.
Mr. Gagas owned and operated Nylwax Co. in Worcester from the 1950s until retiring recently.
The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will be in Worcester Country Club Memorial Park, Paxton. LEOMINSTER -- Frances T. (Tallio) Gasbarri, 87, of 100 Main St., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital, after being stricken ill.
Her husband, Anthony "Gino" Gasbarri, died in 1961. She leaves a son, Anthony Gasbarri of Arizona; two daughters, Deanna T. Marotta of New York and Linda M. DiPaoli of Leominster; a brother, Antonio Tallio of Kansas; a sister, Dora Rossi of Bridgeport, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Two daughters, Sylvia O'Connor and Jean Gasbarri, predeceased her. She was born in Naginey, Pa., daughter of Bernadino and Mary (DeLasandro) Tallio.
Mrs. Gasbarri was a member of St. Anna's Church, the Ladies of St. Anne Society, the Daughters of Isabella, Leominster Senior Citizens and Golden Agers.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, from M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anna's Church, 196 Lancaster St. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery. RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Pauline M. (Bilodeau) Gelinas, 74, of Riverside, formerly of Worcester, Mass., died Monday, Feb. 4, in Loma Linda Medical Center after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 53 years, Arnold Gelinas; two sons, Brian and Daryl Gelinas, both of California; six sisters in the Worcester area; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in Queen of Heaven Mortuary/ emetery, 2161 South Fullerton Road, Rowland Heights. There are no local calling hours.
Harold J. George, 84

HYANNIS -- Harold J. George, 84, of 30 Mark's Path, formerly of Hudson, a World War II veteran, died Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Pavilion in Hyannis.
He leaves his wife of 55 years, Alice M. (Porter) George; two sons, Harold J. George Jr. of Marlboro and David C. George of Yarmouth; two daughters, Nancy A. Tierney of Hudson and Linda M. Roache of Florida; a sister, Helen R. Callahan of Hudson; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Stow, son of Mitzie and Edith M. (Strong) George and lived in Hudson, before moving to Hyannis 16 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. George was a meat manager with the A&P supermarkets for many years, before retiring in 1979. He was an union representative for local 1445 of the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union and a member of the Local 1445 Retirees Club. He was a member of the VFW Post 1027, the Elks Lodge 959 and the Hudson Aerie of Eagles, all in Hudson, and the DAV Chapter in Marlboro.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the Merrill-Carleton Funeral Home, 1 Pleasant St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestville Cemetery, Hudson. WEST BOYLSTON -- Christine R. George, 58, of 11 North Main St., a retired insurance company worker, died Monday, Jan. 28, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester.
She leaves two brothers, Robert P. George of Sterling and Ronald D. George of West Boylston; a sister, Beverly A. George of Virginia Beach, Va.; four nieces, a grandnephew, a grandniece, a step-nephew and a step-niece. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter George Jr. and Ruth Q. (Jacobs) George, and lived 45 years in West Boylston. She graduated from West Boylston High School in 1961.
Ms. George worked 32 years for National Grange Mutual Insurance Co., Auburn, retiring as senior claims representative. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, served on its Altar Guild and was a member and past president of the Women of St. Mark.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Freeland Street, Worcester. Private burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery. WEBSTER -- Robert F. Gibree, 77, of 8/4 Robinson St., a retired truck driver, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at home after a brief illness.
His wife, Lorraine F. (Martin) Gibree, died in 1985. He leaves two daughters, Sally A. Lefebvre and Dorothy A. Gingell, both of Grand Fork, N.D.; a sister, Dorothy Trumbull of Moreno, Fla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of Harry J. and Floilda (Miron) Gibree, and lived in Millbury before moving to Webster in 1950. He attended Millbury High School, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Gibree was a truck driver for Harry Seder Co., formerly in Webster, for many years, retiring several years ago.
He was a member of American Legion Post 184, and Post 54 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, from Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Church, 16 Lake St. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the funeral home.

LUNENBURG -- Nello P. Giglio, 50, of 357 Page St., died Wednesday, Feb. 6, in Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Newton.
He leaves his wife, Kimberly A. (Newton) Giglio; a stepdaughter, Tara S. Worthly of Lunenburg; a brother, Ray E. Giglio of Marlboro; three nephews; and a grandniece. He was born in Gaeta, Italy, son of Gennaro and Sylvia (Avigliano) Giglio, and lived in Lunenburg since 1994. He graduated from Newton High School in 1970.
Mr. Giglio was a logistics specialist for Nortell Networks, Billerica, for the past two years. Previously, he worked for Digital/ ompaq Co. in Westminster and Andover.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Lunenburg Chapel of Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave. Burial will be at the family's convenience in Newton Cemetery.
