FALL RIVER -- Paul R. DeLisle, 48, of North Main Street, died Thursday, Jan. 31, at home.

He leaves two sisters; two brothers, including Raymond L. DeLisle of Spencer; nephews and nieces. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Hunley in Scotland.

Mr. DeLisle was a pipe organ builder and restorer, and owned and operated DeLisle Pipe Organ Co. He was the New England representative for Wicks Organ Co. of Highland, Ill.

He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford.

Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., Fall River, is directing arrangements.

MAYNARD -- The funeral service for Mary A. Dewar, 72, of Maynard and Prince Edward Island, who died Tuesday, Jan. 29, will be private. There are no calling hours.

She leaves three sons, Frank R. Dewar of Vernon Bridge, Prince Edward Island, Aaron A. Dewar of West Brookfield and Bradford W. Dewar of Hubbardston; grandchildren; and a close companion, Karl Karash of Berlin.

SOUTHBRIDGE -- Abel Diaz, infant son of Padro and Betty (Guzman) Diaz of Southbridge, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, the day he was born, in Harrington Memorial Hospital.

He leaves a brother, two sisters, his maternal grandmother and his paternal grandparents.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, in Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Helen R. Donahue, 87; retired teacher

WORCESTER -- Helen R. Donahue, 87, formerly of Arthur Street, died Thursday, Jan. 31, in St. Francis Home after an illness.

She leaves a brother, John C. Donahue of Marlboro and Florida; a sister, Marguerite M. Shea of Worcester; nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John M. and Julia T. (Murphy) Donahue. She graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester State Teachers College and earned a master's degree from Worcester State College.

Ms. Donahue was assistant principal at Burncoat Preparatory School before retiring. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Church and a member of National Education Association, Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association and Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association.

The funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 4, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 9 Hammond St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

William J. Dooley Jr.

ASHBY -- William J. Dooley Jr., 65, of 644 Main St., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 13 years, Margaret E. (Sherer) Bureau Dooley; two sons, Shawn A. Dooley of Anjung-Ri, South Korea, and Ashby, and Scott D. Dooley of Leominster; three stepsons, Richard P. Bureau of Newton, Robert C. Bureau of Ashby, and Kenneth A. Bureau of Austin, Texas; three stepdaughters, Diane M. Dooley of Huntington, Long Island, N.Y., Joanne M. Long of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Patricia A. Bureau of Springfield; two brothers, Norman D. Dooley of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Stephen D. Dooley of Plainfield, Conn.; a sister, J. Marilyn Romano of Fitchburg; 11 grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. He was born in Fitchburg, son of Willie J. and E. Genesta (Baker) Dooley, and moved to Ashby in 1966. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1954. He attended St. Mary's College in Maryland, and graduated from Fitchburg State Teachers College.

Mr. Dooley taught 33 years, three years in Winchendon and the rest in Fitchburg. He taught at Fitchburg High School and Memorial Junior High School, and coached football and baseball at Memorial for many years.

He taught industrial arts for adult education at Fitchburg High School. He retired from teaching in 1994.

He enjoyed gardening and summered on Orrs Island, Maine. He attended St. Camillus de Lellis Church in Fitchburg, and was a longtime member of the Fitchburg Sportsmen's Club.

The funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 4, from Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Camillus de Lellis Church, 333 Mechanic St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in the spring in Glenwood Cemetery, Ashby. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Central Mass. Inc., 35 Harvard St., Worcester, MA 01609.

George J. Duffy Sr., 86

HUDSON, Fla. -- George J. Duffy Sr., 86, of Hudson, formerly of Hanover, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 26, in the Heather Hill Hospice Residence in Florida, after an illness.

He leaves his wife, Elizabeth A. (Goldsmith) Duffy; five sons; three daughters, including Christine T. Watkins of Auburn, Mass.; a stepson; a brother; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He graduated from the Massachusetts Military Academy, and served in the Massachusetts National Guard during World War II. He assisted in the construction of the Cape Cod Canal.

Mr. Duffy was a member of the American Legion in Hanover, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

The funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church in Hanover. Burial will be in Hanover Center Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Josselyn-Cummings Post 149, 104 King St. Hanover, MA 02339.

Carl E. Ellery, 76

SHREWSBURY -- Carl E. Ellery, 76, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Marlboro, a recipient of the Purple Heart, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Epoch Senior Care Center, Northboro.

His wife, Priscilla (LeDuc) Ellery, died in 1979. She leaves a daughter, Dianne Ellery of Shrewsbury; his cousins, Ronald and Raymond Letendre, both of Marlboro, Rudolph Letendre of Pinellas Park, Fla. and Jeannette Busch of St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born in Spencer, son of Raymond and Emily (Letendre) Ellery. He was a Army veteran of World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart.

Mr. Ellery was a teacher at the former Mitchell School. He later taught in the Sudbury school system. After counseling students as a member of the guidance department and teaching, he was appointed assistant superintendent of schools. He retired in 1987. He was a former member of St. Mary's Parish, Marlboro, and past president of the former Holy Name Society of St. Mary's, as well as a former Marlboro School Committee member.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in St. Mary's Church, Broad Street, Marlboro. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlboro. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlboro.

Gerald C. Emino, 86
Monday, January 28, 2002

UPTON -- Gerald C. Emino, 86, of 51 Hartford Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 26, in Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital after being stricken ill in his backyard.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Taft) Emino; a son, Everett Emino of Gainesville, Fla., and Simpson's Corner, Nova Scotia; two daughters, Elinor Townsend of North Grafton and Janine Tully of Westfield; a sister, Gean Hamilton of Whitinsville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A sister, Evelyn Martineau of Grafton, died in 1990. He was born in Simpson's Corner, son of George and Alma (Crouse) Emino, and grew up in North Grafton. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Seattle. He served six years in the Massachusetts State Guard, and moved to Upton in 1940.

Mr. Emino was a machine operator 35 years at Bay State Abrasives in Westboro, retiring in 1973.

He was a member of North Grafton Methodist Church. He assisted in rebuilding the church after the 1938 hurricane.

He was also a member of Marshall-Leland American Legion Post, the National Rifle Association, the North Grafton Fish, Game and Bird Club, and the Gun Owners Action League.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Upton Ambulance Fund, Box 29, Upton, MA 01568.

Raymond G. Enberg, 86

John L. Farineau, 74

LEOMINSTER -- John L. Farineau, 74, of 400 Atlantic Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 26, in the Highlands Long Term Care Center after an illness.

He leaves his wife 45 years, Eileen (Girardin) Farineau; three sons, David J. Farineau of Ashburnham, Don M. Farineau of Upton and Stephen M. Farineau of Colorado. A brother, Paul Farineau of Fitchburg, died in 1993. He graduated from St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in 1945. He served in the Navy.

Mr. Farineau worked many years at First National Stores, Connecticut, retiring in 1993. After his retirement, he worked briefly at B.J.'s Wholesale Club. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church, St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fitchburg, and the Leominster Elks.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, with a Mass at noon in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Cecilia's Church Restoration Fund, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA 01453, or may be left at the funeral home.

Joseph Favulli Sr., 78

WORCESTER -- Joseph F. Favulli Sr., 78, of 293 Harrington Way, a retired Worcester firefighter, died Sunday, Feb. 3, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Antoinette M. "Tonie" (Camarra) Favulli; three sons, Steven Favulli of Worcester, Paul Favulli and Joseph F. Favulli Jr., both of Shrewsbury; a brother, Ernest F. Favulli of Worcester; a sister, Stella M. Dintino of Worcester; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A brother, Henry Favulli, died in 2001. He was born in Worcester, son of Henry E. and Mary P. (Bucciaglia) Favulli, and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Favulli was a firefighter more than 28 years for the Worcester Fire Department, retiring in 1978. During his career, he worked on Rescue 1, then was district chief's aide and retired as deputy chief's aide. He also was a courier and train engineer for 20 years for the Worcester Science Center, now the EcoTarium, retiring in 1999. He formerly worked for Morgan Construction Co.

He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, the International Brotherhood of Fire Fighters Local 1009, and the Worcester Fire Relief Association. He was a former member of Eastside Post 201 American Legion.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, from Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 75 Alvarado Ave. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diamond Black Fan Anemia Fundraisers, 6283 Ben Brooke Way, Acworth, GA 30101.

Edwin N. Feinsod, 73, was active with youth theater

AVON, Conn. -- Edwin N. Feinsod, 73, of Avon, formerly of Worcester, Mass., a veteran of World War II, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, in New Britain General Hospital, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

He leaves his wife, Donna J. (Vassak) Feinsod; two daughters, Elayne B. Feinsod and Susan F. Kellogg, both of Acton, Mass.; and nine grandchildren. A son, Paul M. Feinsod of Seattle, and a sister, Shirley Rosenburg Lutch, predeceased him. He was born in Boston, and grew up in Dorchester. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific and participated in the occupation of Japan. He graduated from Northeastern University, Boston, after the war.

Mr. Feinsod worked in the furniture business as a salesman and as a manufacturer's representative.

He was a member of Temple Emanuel in Worcester and its Brotherhood. Mr. Feinsod was an officer of Temple Sinai in Newington, Conn., and while in Worcester helped establish and direct the Children's Theater. He was a member of the Masonic Temple in Worcester and the Massachusetts Furniture Manufacturing Association. He enjoyed opera, theater, traveling and golf.

The graveside service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in Temple Beth Abraham Cemetery, Nashua, N.H. Memorial observance will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at his residence in Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Britain General Hospital, 100 Grand St., New Britain, CT 06050; or to Temple Sinai, 41 West Hartford Road, Newington, CT 06111. Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, is directing arrangements.

Madeline A. Fields, 79
Wednesday, January 30, 2002

MARLBORO -- Madeline A. Fields, 79, of Marlboro, a retired office clerk, died Monday, Jan. 28, at Marlboro Hospital after a long illness.

She leaves a brother, Robert D. Fields of Dennis; and two nieces. She was born in Marlboro, daughter of Eugene and Flora (Peletier) Fields.

Miss Fields was an office clerk for the former New England Telephone Co., retiring in 1988. She also worked in the office of the Marlboro Country Club. She was a life member of Immaculate Conception Church, was a member of the Colonial Garden Club and was president of the former Ace of Clubs.

The funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, from the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Following cremation, burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Foundation, 40 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
