Max Wahlberg Jr., 70
HENDERSON, Nev. -- Max H. Wahlberg Jr., 70, of Henderson, formerly of Princeton and Worcester, died Friday, Aug. 3, in Hospice Care Facility from a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Frances C. (Pavone) Wahlberg of Henderson; a son, Brendon J. Wahlberg of Pittsburgh, Pa. ; a daughter, Lisa J. Pepper of Winchendon, Mass. ; and three grandchildren. He was born in Atlanta, Ga., son of Max H. Sr. and Ruth Wahlberg, and moved to Worcester in 1935. He graduated from the former Commerce High School in 1948. He served as a master sergeant in the Air Force reserve from 1959 to 1962.
Mr. Wahlberg worked at Norton Co. and later at Neles-Jamesbury, Shrewsbury, for 35 years, before retiring in 1990.
The funeral service will be private. There are no calling hours.

Eleanor Vincitorio, 73
SHREWSBURY -- Eleanor (Mullaney) Vincitorio, 73, of Guinevere Circle, formerly of Waterbury, Conn., a former hospital worker, died Monday, July 23, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
Her husband, Dr. Joseph A. Vincitorio, predeceased her. She leaves a son, Michael J. Vincitorio of Roxbury; a daughter, Mary Surette of Shrewsbury, with whom she lived; and three grandchildren. She was born in Waterbury, daughter of Gervais C. and Helen (Morrissey) Mullaney. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, Waterbury.
Mrs. Vincitorio was a registered nurse and clinical instructor at St. Mary's Hospital.
She was past president of St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary and organized the first Friendship Ball to purchase a Heart Mobile for the hospital. She was named Woman of the Year by Boys Town of Italy in 1985. She served in several capacities in Connecticut, including as honorary deputy sheriff of New Haven County.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, from Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church, Waterbury. Entombment will be in Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum, Waterbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, in the funeral home.

John J. Veronick, 84
WORCESTER -- John J. Veronick, 84, of 6 Duncannon Ave., a retired press operator, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Pauline J. (Zurlis) Veronick; a son, James J. Veronick of Sutton; a daughter, Jean Corriveau of Worcester; two sisters, Annie Kamyck and Helen Prizio, both of Worcester; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was born in Whitefield, Maine, son of Felix and Mary (Lemanski) Veronick, and lived in Maine before moving to Worcester. He then lived in Milford before returning to Worcester 20 years ago. He was educated in Milford schools and attended University of Massachusetts School of Labor Relations and the Institute of Industrial Relations at College of the Holy Cross. He participated in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1932.
Mr. Veronick was a press operator for 40 years for Wyman-Gordon Co., retiring in 1980. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish; a fourth degree member of Alhambra Council Knights of Columbus; and a member of Steelworkers Union Local 2285. He also played semi-professional baseball in Milford many years ago.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to St. Mary's Schools, 50 Richland St., Worcester, MA 01610. Henry Funeral Service, 33 Ward St., is directing arrangements.

WEBSTER -- Frances E. (Skalski) Konkel, 84, of 3 Upper Gore Road, died Monday, Sept. 17, in Hubbard Regional Hospital after a long illness.
Her husband of 17 years, John P. Konkel, died in 1987. She leaves a son, James E. Konkel of Webster; a daughter, Patricia A. Procter of Montclair, Calif. ; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nephews and nieces. Her first husband, of 27 years, Edward J. Konkel, died in 1966. She was born in Webster, daughter of Isadore and Mary (Kaminski) Skalski, and graduated from Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Konkel was a member of St. Joseph Basilica.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, with a Mass at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. A calling hour is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in the funeral home.
Barbara A. Keating, 72; on Flight 11

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -- Barbara Ann (Kinsey) Keating, 72, of Palm Springs, formerly of Framingham, Mass., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, in New York City aboard American Airlines Flight 11 bound for Los Angeles.
Her husband, William H. Keating III, died in 1983. She leaves two daughters; three sons, including Michael Keating of Worcester, Mass. ; a brother; 12 grandchildren; and three nephews. She was born in Baltimore.
Before retiring in 1991, Mrs. Keating was executive director of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of South Middlesex (Mass. ) She also served on their National Board. At her retirement, the Massachusetts Senate recognized her with a lifetime achievement award. She was an active member of St. Theresa's Church and a member of St. Bridget's Church, Framingham.
The memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in St. Bridget's Church, 15 Wheeler Ave., Framingham. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of South Middlesex, 4 Franklin Commons, Framingham, MA 01702.

STETSON, Maine -- Donald R. Johnson Sr., 61, of Stetson, formerly of Worcester, Mass., a retired machinist, died Aug. 1 at home after an illness.
He leaves three sons, Jeffrey and Carl Johnson, both of Northbridge, Mass. and Donald R. Johnson Jr. of Worcester; three daughters, Kimberly Accettola of Reno, Nev., Jennifer and Crystal Johnson, both of Worcester; two brothers, Roger H. Johnson of Webster, Mass. and Michael R. Johnson of Douglas, Mass. ; a sister, Judith Cusson of Worcester; five grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Herbert W. ""Mickey" And Inez O. (Johanson) Johnson, and moved to Stetson 10 years ago. He served in the Coast Guard.
Mr. Johnson was a machinist for several envelope companies in the area for many years, retiring several years ago. He was a member of Glad Tidings Church, Bangor, Maine. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
The funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 15, in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, West Street, Douglas. A calling hour is 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 15, at Emanuel Lutheran Church. WORCESTER -- Michael J. ""Gigi" Gentile, 75, of 37 Shelby St., a World War II veteran, died Thursday, Sept. 13, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus after an illness.
He leaves a brother, Francis M. Gentile of Worcester; a sister, Angela M. Palermo of Oxford; nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces; and a great-grandnephew. Two brothers, Nicholas P. and Carl J. Gentile, and a sister, E. Rose O'Malley, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Pasquale and Mary (Campanielo) Gentile, and attended Worcester schools. He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1952. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving in Central Europe.
Mr. Gentile was a bartender at the Marriot Hotel for many years before retiring. He was previously a bartender at the Driftwood Restaurant and the Falmouth Hunt Club.
He was a life member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, and was a member of Pope John XXIII Council Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of the Green Hill Municipal Golf Club and enjoyed gardening.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, from Arthur S. Manzi & Son Funeral Home & Garden Chapel, 179 Shrewsbury St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. HUDSON -- Grace M. (Fiorentino) Faria, 63, of Hudson, died Sunday, Sept. 19, at her daughter's home in Hubbardston.
She leaves two daughters, Sharon Tango of Hudson and Pamela Burroughs of Hubbardston; two sons, Glenn Faria of Plymouth and Greg Faria of Newton; six brothers, Jerry Fiorentino of Maine, Danny Fiorentino of Weymouth, Vito Fiorentino of Halifax, Ralph Fiorentino of Waltham, Anthony Fiorentino of Middleboro and Frank Fiorentino of Ashland; four sisters, Mary Gorgone of Newton, Jean Byier of Lowell, Lucy Gifun of Brockton, Dolly Irwin of Chelsea; and six grandchildren. She was born in Boston, daughter of Frank and Louise (Mazzola) Fiorentino and lived in Newton, before moving to Hudson.
Ms. Farina was a cook for the Newton public schools and also a cook at the Swedish Home, Newton.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, from the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., with a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 48 Central St. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the funeral home.

PUTNAM -- Robert P. Donais, 53, of Putnam, died Aug. 20 in Schroon, N. Y.
He leaves a son, Jeffrey A. Donais of Thompson; a daughter, Cheryl A. Blood of Norwich, Conn. ; two brothers, Richard Donais and Donald Donais, both of Thompson; three sisters, Patricia Lyon of Woodstock, and Deborah Daigle and Joann Roy, both of Putnam; and four grandchildren. He was born in Putnam, son of Armand and Jeannette Donais.
Mr. Donais was an environmental safety engineer.
There was a private sea burial of cremains on Sunday, Sept. 9. There were no calling hours.

HUDSON -- Adelina A. (Mantino) Wiles, 78, of 7 Meadowbrook Road, a retired nurse, died Friday, Sept. 7, at Bolton Manor Nursing Home, Marlboro, after an illness.
Her husband, Laurie R. Wiles, died in 1991. She leaves a daughter, Karen J. Wiles of Hudson; a brother, Joseph L. Mantino of Hudson; two sisters, Rose M. Hamilton and Mary A. Andrade, both of Marlboro; nephews and nieces. A brother, Michael A. Mantino, predeceased her. She was born in Marlboro, daughter of Francesco and Domenica (Duca) Mantino and has lived in Hudson for 45 years. She graduated from Marlboro High School in 1940. She also graduated from the Clinton Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Wiles was a registered nurse at Marlboro Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1985. She previously worked as a registered nurse at Worcester State Hospital. She was active in the former Royal Jade C. Y. O. Marching Band. She enjoyed knitting.
The funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., Marlboro, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Central St. Burial will be in Forestville Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, in the funeral home.

SOUTHBRIDGE -- Albert D. Vinton, 72, of Sayles Street, a veteran, died Monday, Sept. 3, in Harrington Memorial Hospital after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Veronica (Welk) Vinton, and a sister, Beatrice Dickenson of Sturbridge. He was born in Sturbridge, son of Albert W. and Maria (Davis) Vinton, and lived many years in Sturbridge. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Vinton worked many years for Hyde Manufacturing Co., and retired from A & M Tool and Die Co. He was a member of Quinnebaug Lodge of Masons. He enjoyed snowmobiling and gardening.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. MILLBURY -- Roland L. Vigeant, 75, of 3 Mayfair Lane, a retired truck driver, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, in Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster after being stricken ill while in Webster.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Frances M. (LaChapelle) Vigeant; two daughters, Carol A. Townsend of Ballston Spa., N. Y. and Susan M. Mistretta of Bangor, Maine; two sons, Wayne F. Vigeant of Rutland and Bruce E. Vigeant of Oxford; two brothers, Raymond Vigeant of Putnam, and Clarence Vigeant of Grafton; a sister, Irene Richard of North Grafton; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Norman Vigeant of Auburn, died in 1994. He was born in Worcester, son of Elzear and Mabel (Hervieux) Vigeant, and lived in Southbridge and Sutton before moving to Millbury in 1954. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
Mr. Vigeant was a truck driver, and worked for Transamerican Freight Lines in Worcester, P. B. Mutrie Co. in Framingham, and Petroleum Carriers Inc. in North Grafton, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Truck Drivers and Helpers Local 170 Teamsters Union in Worcester, and was a former member of Truck Drivers and Helpers Local 25 Teamsters Union in Boston.
He was a former member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Parish. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
The funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 11, in Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, in the funeral home.
