WEBSTER -- Theresa Blaszczak, 92, of 33 Harris St., a former hairdresser who worked until she was 90, died Friday, July 13, in Oakwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She leaves a sister, Sister Josephine Wetherbee of Millbury; nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. A brother, Francis Blanchard of Southbridge, died in 1999; a sister, Helen Lacasse of Upton, died last year; and another sister, Genevieve Hajec of Webster, died in April. She was born and raised in Webster, daughter of Anthony and Mary (Mrozinski) Blaszczak. She graduated from Bartlett High School and from Worcester Academy, Worcester.
Miss Blaszczak was a self-employed hairdresser for about 60 years, with a shop at her home. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Basilica and a supporter of the Felician Sisters of Our Lady of the Angels Province in Enfield, Conn.
The funeral will be held Monday, July 16, from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, with a Mass at 10 a. m. in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p. m. Sunday, July 15, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph School Immediate Needs Fund, c/o St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570.

THOMPSON -- The graveside service for Jacqui L. Steele, 39, of North Grosvenordale, who died Monday, July 9, was held Friday, July 13, in West Thompson Cemetery.
She leaves her father and stepmother, James L. and Carolyn Steele of Bella Vista, Ark. ; her mother and stepfather, Carol J. and Joe Keelan of Tooele, Utah; and a brother, Richard R. Abraham of San Diego. She was born in Philadelphia, and lived most of her life in California before moving to Connecticut.
She loved fishing, NASCAR racing and animals.

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. -- Mary B. (Jakubowicz) Kovaleski, 85, a resident of Roncalli South Windsor Care Center, formerly of 44 Windham St. in Worcester, Mass., a retired optical company worker, died Saturday, July 14, in the center after a long illness.
Her husband of 53 years, John J. Kovaleski, died in 1989. She leaves two sons, Donald J. and Stanley K. Koveleski, both of South Windsor; and two grandsons. Three brothers, Joseph Jakubowicz of Powhaton, Va., Stanley Jakubowicz of Clinton, Mass., and Chester Jakubowicz of Lancaster, Mass., and a sister, Gladys Kalinowski of Worcester, predeceased her. She was born in Clinton, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Bastek) Jakubowicz, and lived in Southbridge before moving to Worcester in 1950 and to South Windsor in 1998. She graduated from Clinton High School.
Mrs. Kovaleski worked at American Optical Co. in Southbridge, Mass., where she was a supervising eye frame inspector. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish and its Woman's Guild.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 17, from Henry Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10:30 a. m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 6 p. m. Monday, July 16, in the funeral home. AUBURN -- Edmund J. Lemansky, 88, of 245 Prospect St., a local business owner, died Sunday, July 15, at home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, Florence (Listewnik) Lemansky; three sons, Ronald E. Lemansky of Avon, Conn., Richard J. Lemansky of Auburn, and Robert F. Lemansky of Charlton; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of Stanislas and Frances (Demkosiak) Lemanski, and lived many years in Auburn.
Mr. Lemansky was assistant to the president of the Bell Co. in Worcester for more than 20 years. He then owned and operated Acme Package Store for more than 20 years. Along with his wife, he co-founded Ronnie's of Auburn and Ronnie's Seafood of Charlton. He also operated a landscape contracting business for many years, and drove a school bus for R. H. White Bus Co.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, and also attended St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. He was a member of the Auburn Rotary Club and Auburn Council, Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Lemansky was active in town affairs, and served as park commissioner many years. In 1989, he received the John E. and Ethel E. Riley Citizen of the Year award. He also received the Democrat of the Year Award from the Auburn Democratic Town Committee. He was known as the “Mayor of West Auburn. ”
The funeral will be held at 9:15 a. m. Thursday, July 19, from Britton Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., with a Mass at 10:30 a. m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 9 p. m. Wednesday, July 18, in the funeral home.

WARE -- Robert E. Klem Jr., 43, of 42 Pleasant St., died Saturday, July 14, in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.
He leaves his wife, Lisa (Royal) Klem; two sons, Jason Klem and Robert Klem III, both of Ware; four daughters, Anika, Lilly, Nellie, and Stella Klem, all of Ware; his parents, Robert and Phyllis (Bullan) Klem of Hardwick; a brother, Steven Klem of Hardwick; two sisters, Linda Tomasi of Hardwick and Diane Klem of Las Vegas; his grandmother, Nellie Klem of Hardwick. A brother, David Klem, and a sister, Susan Klem, predeceased him. He was born in Ware, and lived many years in Hardwick and Hawaii. He returned to the area in 1998. He was a Marine Corps veteran, and played for the Marine Band in Hawaii.
Mr. Klem was an artist and musician, playing the saxophone. He was a member of the Elks Club in Hawaii.
After returning to the area, he performed and painted in the Amherst area. He was a jazz enthusiast.
A gathering will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday, July 14, at the Klem residence, 1021 Prouty Road, Hardwick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Klem Family Fund, PO Box 344, Hardwick, MA 01037. Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., is directing arrangements.

WEBSTER -- John A. Pietrewicz, 54, of 14 Eastern Ave., a former postal clerk, died Saturday, July 14, in Oakwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
He leaves a brother, Peter A. Pietrewicz of Lakewood, Colo. ; a nephew, a niece and two grandnieces. A brother, Joseph Pietrewicz Jr., predeceased him. He was born in Webster, son of Joseph Pietrewicz Sr. and Helen (Glowinski) Pietrewicz. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1964 and from North Adams State College.
Mr. Pietrewicz was a clerk at the Whitinsville Post Office, Whitinsville section of Northbridge, for 27 years until leaving in March because of illness. He was a member of St. Joseph Basilica.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, July 20, in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. WESTBORO -- Jeffrey M. Bairos, 34, of 14 Phillips St., formerly of Templeton, died Friday, July 20, from injuries suffered that day in a motorcycle accident in Framingham.
He leaves his mother and stepfather, Marilyn E. (Simonelli) and Robert E. Dean of Templeton; his father and stepmother, Joseph L. Bairos Jr. and Angela E. Bairos of Templeton; four brothers, Joseph L. Bairos 3rd of Gardner, James D. Bairos of Templeton, John A. Simonelli of Westboro, and Jesse R. Bairos of Baldwinville; a sister, Joanne M. Bairos of Leominster; his grandmother, Joanna Medeiros of Hudson; two stepbrothers, Scott Elsevier of Winchendon and Eric Elsevier of Templeton; two stepsisters, Amy Dean of Gardner and Jennifer Aldrich of Bellingham, Wash. ; nephews and nieces. He was born in Gardner, and lived four years in Westboro. He graduated form Narragansett Regional High School, Baldwinville, in 1984.
Mr. Bairos worked several months at Carlstron Pressed Metal Co. An accomplished chef, he previously had worked for several Boston hotels. He was a motorcycle and culinary arts enthusiast and worked at small engine repair.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a. m. Tuesday, July 24, in Smith Funeral Home, 69 Vernon St., Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton. STURBRIDGE -- Roy A. Gardner, 59, of 315 Main St., a custodian, died Wednesday, July 18, after being stricken ill in his home.
He leaves his wife of 34 years, Maria M. (Raser) Gardner; three daughters, Angela Gardner of Sturbridge, Michele Backhus of Vernon, N. J. and Monique Gordon of Rutland; seven brothers, Edward Gardner of Texas, Melvin Gardner of Washington, Raymond Gardner of Hannibal, N. Y., Harold Gardner of Grandview Plaza, Kan. ; Kenneth Gardner of Phoenix, Ariz. ; Randolph Gardner of Friendwood, Texas and Timothy Gardner of Torrington, Conn. ; three sisters, Jane Pistey of Holyoke, Maureen Reilly of Holland and Shriley Cote of Woodstock, Conn. ; a granddaughter; nephews and nieces. He was born in Dudley, son of Edward F. and Mildred (Benoit) Gardner. He served in the National Guard.
Mr. Gardner was a custodian at Tantasqua Regional Junior High School.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p. m. Friday, Aug. 10. in Holland Congregation Church, Sturbridge Road, Holland. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. The Daniel T.
