David H. Snay Jr., 53

MILFORD -- David H. Snay Jr., 53, of 12 Water St., died Tuesday, June 5, in Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital after an illness.

He leaves a son, John L. Snay of Blackstone; a daughter, Angela E. Snay of the Whitinsville section of Northbridge; three brothers, Russell N. Snay of Shrewsbury, Daniel T. Snay of Upton and Dennis J. Snay of Milford; four sisters, Carole V. Marsh of Framingham, Judith V. Duggan of Plymouth, Linda D. Semmel and Sandra E. O'Brien, both of Milford; three grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Northbridge, son of David H. Snay Sr. and Mae L. (Reed) Snay, and lived in Mendon before moving to Milford 31 years ago. He graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School, Mendon.

Mr. Snay worked for Little Gent Shoe and then at Glico Harmony Food Corp., Franklin. He enjoyed fishing, pool, reading, candlepin bowling, and sports.

The funeral will be held Saturday, June 9, from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road, Uxbridge, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Cross Street, Whitinsville. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 8, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity.

Laura Zawalick, 85

Dorothy C. Adams, 70

Monday, June 4, 2001

GRAFTON -- Dorothy C. Adams, 70, of 80 Snow Road, a librarian and cataloger died Saturday, June 2, in St. Camillus Healthcare Center in Whitinsville after suffering a stroke three months ago.

She leaves a brother, Joseph H. Adams Jr. of Northbridge; many nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph H. Adams Sr. and Elizabeth E. (Wallace) Adams, and lived all her life in Grafton. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1949, and later graduated from Clark University in Worcester. She received a master's degree from Worcester State College, and earned teaching certification from Assumption College.

Miss Adams was an audio/visual cataloger and librarian at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester for the past 10 years. She was previously librarian 25 years at the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in North Grafton, and sang in its choir. She was also its former religious education director.

She was a member of the Massachusetts State Employees Association and the American Librarians Association. She was a nature and wildlife advocate, and was a member of several related associations. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 53 North Main St., North Grafton. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, in Robert C. Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Donations may be made to the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 53 North Main St., North Grafton, MA 01536.

Robert L. Alexander, 51

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Robert L. Alexander, 51, of Miami Township, formerly of Leicester, Mass., died Sunday, May 27, in Sycamore Hospital.

He leaves his wife, Kimberly (Schindler) Alexander; a daughter, Maryann Alexander of Tennessee; four sons, Robert Alexander Jr. of Leicester, Brian Alexander of Carlisle, Darris and Matthew Campbell, both of West Carrollton; three brothers, his twin Richard L. Alexander Sr. of Leicester, Randall L. and Ralph L. Alexander, both of Leicester; his mother, Ellen Alexander of Leicester, Mass.; five grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; several great-nephews and great-nieces. His father, Miner Alexander of Hawthrorne, Calif., predeceased him. He was born in Hawthorne, Calif. He served in the Army and the Marine Corps.

Mr. Alexander was a police officer with the West Carrollton Police Department before retiring. He was formerly police officer for 22 years for the Miami Township Police Department.

He was a member of Moose Lodge 1645 Miamisburg and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3438 West Carrollton.The funeral services were held over the weekend. Burial was be in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Robert L. Alexander Memorial Fund, c Code Credit Union, 732 South Ludlow St., Dayton, OH 45402. Swart Funeral Home, 207 East Central Ave., West Carrollton, directed arrangements.

Erin K. Alli, 21

NEW RIVER, N.C. -- Erin K. (Sullivan) Alli, 21, of New River, formerly of 55 Ellen St., Leominster, Mass., a corporal in the Marine Corps, died Thursday, May 31, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in New River.

Her husband of seven months, Ricky Alli, also died in the accident. She leaves her parents, Michael and Ellen (Wichelns) Sullivan of Leominster; a brother, Mickey Sullivan of Gardner, Mass.; two sisters, Sheila Lanney of Ashburnham, Mass. and Lauren Sullivan of Leominster; her paternal grandparents, Ralph and Pearl (Hamilton) Peters of Leominster; several nephews and nieces. She was born in Leominster, and graduated from Leominster High School in 1997, where she was a member of the Chorus Club. She attended Fitchburg State College. She received the Brian Walsh award twice for volunteering with the elderly and handicapped.

She joined the Marine Corps in 1999, and was a computer systems specialist assigned to the Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 in New River.While in Leominster, she worked part-time at DeMoula's Supermarket and was active in Project Bread in Fitchburg. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster. A funeral, with full military honors, will be held Friday, June 8, from Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center, c/o Ann Racine, 275 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.

Jon D. Boudreau, 52

JACKSON, Maine -- Jon D. Boudreau, 52, of Jackson, formerly of Ashby, Mass., died Friday, June 1, at Inland Hospital, Waterville.

He leaves three brothers, Alfred Boudreau of Dexter, Eugene Boudreau of Leominster, Mass. and Denis Boudreau of Ashby; a sister, Ina A. Larsen of Rindge, N.H.; nephews and nieces. A brother, Donald Boudreau, died in 1998. A sister, Iris Smith, died last year. He was born in Ashby, son of Alfred and Elizabeth (Telka) Boudreau, and moved to Maine 20 years ago. He graduated from Ashby High School in 1966.

Mr. Boudreau was self-employed, primarily in the wood products business.

Cremation took place Tuesday, June 5, in Maine. Burial of ashes will be in Ashby at a later date. A memorial service will be held in Ashby on Saturday, June 23 at a time to be announced.

Cecilia B. Boyko, 81

WEBSTER -- Cecilia B. (Dembinski) Boyko, 81, of 272 Killdeer Island, died Monday, June 4, in the Hospice Residence, Worcester, after an illness. Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., are incomplete.

WEBSTER -- Cecilia B. (Dembinski) Boyko, 81, of 272 Killdeer Island, a retired bookkeeper, died Monday, June 4, in the Hospice Residence, Worcester, after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 54 years, Walter F. Boyko; nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. Four brothers and four sisters predeceased her. She was born in Webster, daughter of Anthony and Sophie (Grygiel) Dembinski, and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1938.

Mrs. Boyko was a bookkeeper at Risom Manufacturing, North Grosvenordale section of Thompson, retiring in 1982. She previously was an assistant manager at the Sears Catalog Order Office for several years and then was manager of the fashion department at Montgomery Ward in Putnam. She was a member of St. Joseph Basilica.

The funeral will be held Thursday, June 7, from Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570.

Florence A. Brigham

Monday, June 4, 2001

HUDSON -- Florence A. Brigham, 101, of Hudson, died Tuesday, May 29, in Diamond Place, Marlboro.

She leaves a sister, Lillian M. Brigham, of Hudson; a niece and two nephews. Two sisters, Marjorie Barber and Ruth Brigham, and two brothers, Leslie and Clarence Brigham, predeceased her. Born in Hudson, daughter of Clifford R. and Alice M. (Rockwell) Brigham, she graduated from Hudson High School in 1916, and from Smith College in 1921.

Ms. Brigham worked 43 years for the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Co., Hartford. Upon her retirement in 1973, she returned to Hudson.She was a member of the Marlboro-Hudson Unitarian Church, and was an honorary member of the Hudson Historical Society. An avid traveler, she went around the world twice in her lifetime.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to a charity. The Merrill-Carleton Funeral Home, 1 Pleasant St., is directing arrangements.

Khammone Davannavong, 37

SOUTHBRIDGE -- Khammone Davannavong, 37, of 144 Fiske St., drowned Sunday, June 3, in Sachuest Point in Middletown, R.I., while fishing with a friend.

He leaves his parents, Done and Thone Inthirathvonsy of Southbridge; two brothers, Thingmeoun and Ming Davannavong of Laos; and six sisters, Sone Bounphasaysonh and Vone Lechert, both of Southbridge, Sophaphone Vongkysone of Minnesota, Keo, Kab and Keoun Inthirathvonsy, all of Laos. He was born in Laos.

Mr. Davannavong worked at Aero Safety Products Corp.

The funeral prayer service will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, in Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St. After cremation, burial will be in Laos.

Corliss A. Day, 76

LUNENBURG -- Corliss A. (Proctor) Day, 76, of 76 Arbor St., a retired nurse, died Sunday, June 3, in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after a short illness.

Her husband of 48 years, Philip S. Day Sr., died in 1996. She leaves three sons, Stephen I. Day of Fitchburg, and Walter D. and David A. Day, both of Lunenburg; four daughters, Janice A. Rosensteel of Lunenburg, Barbara L. Ross of West Lake, Ohio, Susan M. Jackson of London, Ky., and Kathryn M. LaFond of Templeton; two brothers, William R. Proctor Sr. of Lunenburg and John G. Proctor of Fitchburg; four sisters, Auracy Murray of Ashby, Marion Walsh, Mona Poirier, and Donna Cameron, all of Lunenburg; 14 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nephews and nieces. A son, Philip S. Day Jr. of Lunenburg, died in 1993. She was born in Lunenburg, daughter of Robert I. and Mona A. (Corliss) Proctor, and graduated from Lunenburg High School in 1943. She also graduated from the Cadet Nurses Training School at Henry Heywood Hospital in Gardner.

Mrs. Day was a registered nurse 24 years at the Cutler Army Hospital at Fort Devens retiring in 1984. She previously worked at Clinton Hospital and the former Fitchburg General Hospital.

She was a member of Chapel of All Saints in Leominster and the Lunenburg Women's Club, where she was a four-term past president. She was a member of the Grange and was very active in the Girl Scouts and 4H Club.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, in the Chapel of All Saints, 1469 Main St., Leominster. Burial will be in South Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave. Donations may be made to the Lunenburg Women's Club Scholarship Fund, c/o Ann Clarke, 190 South Row Road, Lunenburg, MA 01462.

Gerard L. Day, 30

WORCESTER -- Gerard L. Day, 30, of 27 Clement St., died May 26 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.

He leaves his wife, Sandy Adams of Worcester; three sons, Xavier and Rashaun Day, and Gerard L. Day Jr., all of Worcester; two daughters, Latifa and Ebony Day, both of Worcester; his mother, Maryann (Martin) Day of Orlando, Fla. He was born in New York City, son of Richard Day, and lived several years in Worcester.

Mr. Day was a chef in various hospitals.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 7, in Graham, Putnam, and Mahoney Funeral Parlor, 838 Main St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in the funeral home.

Theodhora Bratko Delle

FALMOUTH -- Theodhora Bratko Delle, 91, of 110 Turner Road, East Falmouth, formerly of 26 Merlin Court in Worcester, died Tuesday, June 5, at home.

Her husband, Sotir Delle, died in 1961. She leaves two daughters, Roberta J. Cota and Sandra M. Hussey, both of East Falmouth; a sister, Qeti Rottas of Palm Coast, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, George V. Delle of Westboro, predeceased her. She was born in Korce, Albania, daughter of Vaske and Androniqi (Peristere) Bratko, and came to Worcester in 1931. She moved to East Falmouth in 1998. She attended the Normal School in Korce.

Mrs. Delle was a longtime member of St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, Worcester, and was active with several of its groups. She was also an active member of many community organizations. She traveled throughout the world, including China, Israel, South America, and Albania. She was an accomplished knitter and enjoyed reading.

The funeral will be held Saturday, June 9, from Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, with a service at 1 p.m. in St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9, in the funeral home.
