MILLBURY -- Carl “Roy” Wahlstrom, 88, of 1501 Grafton Road, East Millbury, a retired Norton Co. employee, died Friday, April 27, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a short illness.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Phyllis E. (Modig) Wahlstrom; two daughters, Carol P. Aro of Eastham and Janet A. Whittier of Sutton; four granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Carl and Clara (Johnson) Wahlstrom, and lived 60 years in Millbury. He attended Worcester Boys Trade High School.
Mr. Wahlstrom worked more than 30 years in the grinding division of Norton Co., Worcester, retiring in 1974. He was a member, trustee and deacon of Raymond Memorial Congregational Church, East Millbury; a member of Norton Alumni Association, Pleasant Valley Camping Association, and Avion Travel Club; and a 50-year member of Olive Branch Lodge of Masons.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, in Raymond Memorial Congregational Church, Raymond Avenue, East Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. WEBSTER -- Theresa M. (Millette) Weiss, 84, of 129 Thompson Road, died Wednesday, April 25, in Hubbard Regional Hospital.
Her husband of 60 years, Raymond C. Weiss, died in 1999. She leaves two sons, Raymond E. Weiss of Thompson, Conn., and Robert Weiss of Colorado; two brothers, Herbert “Zeke” Millette of Oxford and Adelard Millette of California; a sister, Marie Watson of Florida; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Born and raised in Dudley, daughter of Alexander and Marie Louise (Tremblay) Millette, she lived in Webster since in 1939.
Mrs. Weiss was a clothes saleswoman at Maanexit Spinning Co. before retiring. She was a member of St. Louis Church.
The funeral will be held Saturday, April 28, from Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. WEBSTER -- Barbara A. (Giovinazzi) Wigglesworth, 66, of 19 Crosby St., a retired nurse, died Friday, April 27, in the Hubbard Regional Hospital after a long illness.
She leaves her husband of 43 years James E. Wigglesworth; two sons, James R. Wigglesworth of Webster and Scott J. Wigglesworth of Thompson, Conn.; two daughters, Cheryl A. Wigglesworth of Webster and Barbara J. Moriarty of Webster; three sisters, Carol Iandoli of Leicester, Jeanne Giovinazzi of Webster and Grace Konkel of Charlton; three grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Robert and Gyles Giovinazzi, and a sister, Roberta Prince, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of James and Grace (Rourke) Giovinazzi. She graduated from the former St. Louis High School in 1953.
Mrs. Wigglesworth was a licensed practical nurse for 30 years at Charlton Manor Rest Home, Charlton, before retiring several years ago. She was an avid bingo player.
The funeral will be Monday, April 30, from the Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. WINCHENDON -- Fernande J. (Lefebvre) Ricord, 87, of 128B Ipswich Drive, died Saturday, April 28, in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, after an illness.
Her husband of 29 years, Maurice J. Ricord, died in 1966. She leaves three daughters, Rosemarie L. Goodrich of Winchendon, Rita M. Bortz of South Burlington, Vt., and Aline M. Guerra of Leicester; a brother, Albert J. “Frenchy” Lefebvre of Winchendon; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Born in Asbestos, Quebec, daughter of Theodule and Clara (Labonte) Lefebvre, she lived 75 years in Winchendon.
Mrs. Ricord was a seamstress at the former Winchendon Fashions, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and of the former St. Catherine Society.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. WESTON -- Father Thomas F. Hussey, 91, of the Society of Jesus, formerly of Worcester, died Monday, April 30, in Campion Health Center.
He leaves a sister, Elizabeth Hehir of Worcester; many nieces and nephews, including a niece, Frances Carrigan of Northboro. He was born in Worcester, son of Thomas F. and Elizabeth (Conlin) Hussey, and graduated from South High School in Worcester and the College of the Holy Cross in 1931. He completed his final year of Jesuit formation in 1946 in Pomfret, Conn.
He taught at Baghdad College in Iraq and helped to raise funds for the newly founded Jesuit university in Baghdad, Al Hirma University. He was librarian and religion teacher at the Cathedral School, and was province coordinator for ministry to the black community.
The concelebrated funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3, in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Campion Center, 319 Concord Road. Interment will be in Jesuit Cemetery. GARDNER -- Veronica A. “Vera” (Sylwestrzak) Kuczka, 87, of 506 Pleasant St., a retired beautician, died Thursday, May 3, at home after an illness.
Her husband of 54 years, Joseph Kuczka, died in 1987. She leaves two daughters, Barbara Ann Alexakos of Gardner and Joyce Ann Smith of Northford, Conn.; three sisters, Wanda Renes of Gardner, Genevieve Aquino of Worcester and Irene Boccardy of Athol; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A brother, Thomas Sylwestrzak of Templeton, died in 1982. A sister, Helen St. John of Gardner, died in 1985; another sister, Jean Kubicki of Worcester, died in 1991; and another sister, Clara Grzejka of Syracuse, N.Y., died in 1965. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of John and Marianna (Wieczorek) Sylwestrzak, and lived in Gardner since 1920.
Mrs. Kuczka was a beautician and operated Vera's Beauty Nook for 34 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and its Holy Rosary Sodality, the Polish-American Social League, and the Gardner Golden Age Club.
The funeral will be held Monday, May 7, from Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Joan (Holt) Sarah; a son, Paul V. Sarah Jr. of Mendon; a daughter, Elaine Sarah of Blackstone; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was born in Milford, son of Nicholas and Elizabeth (White) Sarah, and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School.Mr. Sarah worked for Floor Coverers Union Local 2168. He previously owned Paul's Floor Covering for more than 25 years.
He was a member of the Woodville Rod & Gun Club and the Bass Anglers Sportsmen's Society. He enjoyed fishing.

MILFORD -- Irene (Panagian) Theroux, 70, of 101 Prospect Heights, a retired hospital worker, died Tuesday, May 1, in Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital.
She leaves a son, John R. Theroux of East Douglas; a daughter, Maureen A. Theroux of Worcester; two brothers, George Panagian of Worcester and Maurice “Punt” Panagian of Milford; three sisters, Margaret Alexandrian of Worcester, Agnes Costa and Elmon Panagian, both of Milford; a grandchild; nephews and nieces. A brother, Vartan Panagian, and a sister, Virkin Krikorian, predeceased her. She was born in Milford, daughter of Serop and Mary (Parnagian) Parnagian, and graduated from Milford High School in 1949.
Mrs. Theroux worked at Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

WORCESTER -- Dr. John P. DiCicco Sr., 83, of 271 Lake Ave., a longtime Worcester physician and a World War II veteran, died Wednesday, May 2, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after a short illness.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Gabrielle (Dionne) DiCicco; a son, Dr. John P. DiCicco Jr. of Shrewsbury; three daughters, Antonia Cabot of Worcester, Pamela Oliveri of North Smithfield, R.I., and Lida Marciano of Cary, Ill.; a sister, Christine Caleiro of West Boylston; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Four brothers, Bruno, Frank, Dominic and Ernest DiCicco, and a sister, Rose Haapanen, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Pasquale and Philomena (DiCicco) DiCicco. He graduated from North High School and earned a doctorate in medicine from Middlesex University in 1941. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a medic overseas and attaining the rank of major.
Dr. DiCicco specialized in ophthalmology and otolaryngology for more than 50 years. He was a founding member of Doctors Hospital, where he was a staff member for many years.
He was a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology; a board member of Adcare Hospital; a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society; a founding member of Indian Meadows Country Club and the Italian American Business Men's Club; and a member of Pleasant Valley Country Club and American Legion Eastside Post 201.The funeral will be held Saturday, May 5, from Arthur S. Magdziasz of Worcester and Joseph Magdis of Auburn; a sister, Mary Miller of Worcester; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Andrew O'Connell, predeceased her. LEOMINSTER -- Leo A. Fontaine, 76, of 230 Mechanic St., a World War II veteran and a retired tool and die maker, died Friday, May 4, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Pauline R. (Viau) Fontaine; two sons, Leonard R. and Francis A. Fontaine, both of Leominster; a daughter, Deborah A. Terrell of Leominster; three brothers, Charles and Roger Fontaine, both of Fitchburg, and Rene Fontaine of Leominster; two sisters, Anita Winningham of California and Pauline Suprenant of Sturbridge; six grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Armand Fontaine, and two sisters, Irene Vallee and Jeanette Demazure, all of Leominster, predeceased him. He was born in Leominster, son of Ernest and Imelda (Vigneault) Fontaine. He attended Leominster schools and was a Navy veteran of World War II.Mr. Fontaine was a tool and die maker at Foster Grant Co., retiring 15 years ago. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church and the Leominster Franco Veterans.

WEBSTER -- Joseph A. Duggan, 68, of Hartley Street, died Saturday, May 5, in the Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, after a long illness. His wife of 20 years, Pauline (Mathurin) Duggan, died in 1973.
He leaves a son, Jeffrey Duggan of Webster; five daughters, Diane Arsenault of Oxford, Donna Roy of Thompson, Conn., Debra Bayer of Webster, Dorie Chiras of Dudley, and Darcy Brooking of Dayville, Conn; a sister, Doris Lamprey of Charlton, eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and a close companion, Lucille Harvey of Brookfield. His twin brother, John Duggan of Southbridge, died in 1994. He was born in Framingham, son of John and Valeria (Keenan) Duggan, and lived over 50 years in Webster. He graduated from Charlton High School in 1953.
Mr. Duggan was a textile worker at Cranston Print Works in Webster where he had been employed for 40 years. He was a member of St. Louis Church in Webster. He was a race car enthusiast, who wrote articles for many local newspapers and magazines, including the Southbridge News, Webster Times, and New England Speed Week. Mr. Duggan was an amateur photographer, and enjoyed photographing auto racing and landscape pictures on Cape Cod.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 9, from the Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster. CLINTON -- Dianne J. (Town) Sivert, 43, of 104 Beech St., a Becker College student, died Friday, May 4, in Clinton Hospital after being stricken ill at home.
She leaves her husband of 27 years, Perry G. Sivert; two sons, Jeffrey D. and Thomas W. Sivert, both of Clinton; her mother, Theresa (Taft) Town of Troy, N.H.; a brother, David Town of Keene, N.H. and her twin brother, Daniel Town of Troy, N.H.; a sister, Lee Ann Lambert of Jaffrey, N.H.; and nieces and nephews. Born in Keene, daughter of Louis Town, she graduated from Monadnock Regional High School, Swanzey, N.H. She lived 27 years in Clinton.
Mrs. Sivert was pursuing a degree in childhood education at Becker College, Worcester. Previously, she worked at Clinton Hospital, and operated a day care center in her home for 13 years.She was a deaconess and former Sunday school superintendent at the German Congregational Church. She worked at the Guild of St. Agnes Day Care, Worcester.
