WORCESTER -- Robert J. Polissack, 85, of 34 Benedict Road, a World War II veteran and a retired machinist, died Tuesday, April 3, in Knollwood Nursing Center after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Margaret (Angarano) Polissack; a son, Robert F. Polissack of Worcester; three daughters, Catherine R. Ford and Patricia A. Cordella, both of Worcester, and Mary M. Gabrila of Leicester; a brother, Frank Polissack of Long Beach, Miss.; a sister, Rose Marshall of Worcester; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Edward, Stephen and Joseph Polissack, and two sisters, Frances Johnson and Helen Britcliff, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Vladislaus and Mary (Szabarkienicz) Poliszak, and graduated from Commerce High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Polissack was a machinist more than 30 years at Heald Machine Co., now a division of Cincinnati-Milicron, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Green Hill Golf Association and enjoyed bowling in various leagues in Worcester. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church.
The funeral will be held Friday, April 6, from Arthur S. Manzi & Son Funeral Home & Garden Chapel, 179 Shrewsbury St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Ethel M. (Corey) Pratt, 83, of Tallahassee, formerly of Grafton, Mass., died Tuesday, April 10, in a Tallahassee nursing home.
She leaves a son, Bruce S. Pratt of Tallahassee; three grandsons, Andrew T. Pratt of Chicago, Bryan C. Pratt of Jax and Craig C. Pratt of Spokane, Wash.; and a great-grandchild. She was born in Grafton and moved to Tallahassee in 1998.
The funeral service will be private. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury, Mass. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to a charity. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, is directing arrangements.

WORCESTER -- Lee B. “Modie” Price, 55, of the Compassion House, a construction laborer, died Monday, April 9, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after a long illness.
He leaves three sons, Gregory L. Price of North Carolina, Michael Burrell of Worcester and Matthew Rutherford of Rutland; two daughters, Elnora Rutherford of Southbridge and Nicole Rutherford of Worcester; his father, Milton Price Sr. of Worcester; three brothers, Milton Price Jr., Steven and Dean Price, all of Worcester; three sisters, Linda Bailey, Phyllis Laura and Christina Johnston, all of Worcester; his fiancee, Kathleen Briody of Southbridge; seven grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Elnora (Kelley) Price, and attended Leicester public schools.
Mr. Price was a construction laborer for area companies.
The funeral service will be held at noon Friday, April 13, in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. STURBRIDGE -- Honoria B. Proulx, 98, of Main Street, the town's oldest resident, died Tuesday, April 10, at home after an illness.
She leaves a sister, Marie A. Proulx, with whom she lived; a niece, Constance Ryczek of Southbridge; grandnephews and grandnieces, great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces. Four brothers, Edmond, Rene, Armand and Fernand Proulx, and two sisters, Antonia Martel and Sister Eudoxie Proulx, predeceased her. She was born in Southbridge, daughter of Dosithe and Hermine (Nadeau) Proulx, and lived in Sturbridge since 1933.
Miss Proulx worked 52 years at American Optical Co., retiring in 1968. She was a member of St. Anne/St. Patrick's Church, Fiskdale, and American Optical Co.'s Quarter Century Club. She was the oldest resident of the town of Sturbridge.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 17, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anne/St. Patrick's Church, 16 Church St., Fiskdale. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 16, in the funeral home. OXFORD -- Helen C. (Donovan) Prouty, 82, of Main Street, a retired secretary, died Sunday, April 8, in Lanessa Extended Care Facility, Webster, after a long illness.
Her husband of 33 years, Harris M. Prouty of Oxford, died in 1975. She leaves five sons, John M. and Daniel M. Prouty, both of Charlton, Thomas M. Prouty of Boothbay, Maine, Timothy J. Prouty of Dudley, and James H. Prouty of Harland, Wisconsin; a sister, Ursala Bedard of Oxford; eight grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two brothers predeceased her, Brendan Donovan of Oxford in 1995, and Richard Donovan of Charlton in 1975. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John J. and Agnes T. (Murray) Donovan, and lived most of her life in Oxford. She graduated Oxford High School in 1936 and Becker Junior College in Worcester.
Mrs. Prouty was a secretary at Oxford High School for 28 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and the Oxford Women's Club.
The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, in St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St. Burial will be in St. Roch's Cemetery. WORCESTER -- Eldred S. Publicover, 70, of 18 City View St., a maintenance supervisor, died Thursday, April 5, in Westboro Health Care Center.
His wife of 46 years, Joan M. (Trim) Publicover, died last year. He leaves two sons, Lee S. Publicover of Worcester and Herbert A. “Bart” Publicover of Paxton; two sisters in Nova Scotia, Canada; a stepbrother, Garth Baker; three step-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Nova Scotia, son of Eldred J. and Dorothy (Walfield) Publicover, and lived 42 years in Worcester. He attended schools in Nova Scotia.
Mr. Publicover was a maintenance supervisor at Astra Pharmaceuticals for 36 years. He was a member of Adams Square Congregational Church; a 32nd degree Mason at John Whittal Lodge in Shrewsbury; and a member of the Scottish Rites Lodge.
The graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. OXFORD -- Francis J. Racki, 56, of Wells Street, in the Rochdale section of Oxford, a business owner, died Monday, April 9, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Patricia M. (Charland) Racki; a son, James F. Racki of Rochdale; a daughter, Wendy L. Pitts of Braintree; two brothers, Paul A. Racki in Florida and Robert Racki of Oxford; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Walter Racki Jr. of Southbridge, died last year. He was born in Webster, son of Walter and Sophie (Shivick) Racki, and lived in Rochdale, Oxford and Leicester before returning to Rochdale 33 years ago.
Mr. Racki owned and operated American Detection Equipment, Rochdale, for 10 years. Previously, he installed alarm systems for ADT Security in Worcester for 15 years. He was a former member of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, Leicester, a longtime member of the Auburn Elks in Auburn, and a member of the Brown Square Civic Center and the Eagles Club, both in Worcester. He enjoyed boating.
The funeral will be held Thursday, April 12, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., with a Liturgy of the Word at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial will be at the family's convenience. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in the funeral home. The Auburn Elks will perform their ritual at 7:30 p.m. during the calling hours. FITCHBURG -- Joseph J. Ramondelli, , of 66 York Ave., a retired city police officer, died Tuesday, April 10, at home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Mary (Marranzino) Ramondelli; many nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews. A brother, Constantino P. Ramondelli, died in 1983, and another brother, Leo R. Ramondelli, died in 1995. He was born in Palermo, Italy, son of Simon and Marie (Barbero) Ramondelli, and lived many years in Fitchburg.
He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
Mr. Ramondelli was a city police officer before retiring. He previously worked at Clover Hill Dairy and Atlantic Richfield. He was also a real estate broker.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, and was a member and trustee of the Sons of Italy and the Land Trust. He was a member of the Italian-American War Veterans, the Disabled American Veterans, AMVETS 0029, the Fitchburg Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the Eastwood Club, and the Eastwood Senior Center.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 16, from Brandon-Simard Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, with a Mass at 1 p.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 84 Salem St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Nancy Randall, 73

WALES -- Nancy (Petersen) Randall, 73, of 49 Main St., died Saturday, April 7, at home after an illness.
She leaves two sons, Eugene Randall of Wales and Lawrence Randall of Woodstock, Conn.; three daughters, Cynthia Randall and Rebecca Smith, both of Wales, and Melissa Weinard of Woodstock; seven grandchildren. She was born in Mount Lebanon, Pa., daughter of Lawrence and Eva (Snell) Peterson, and lived many years in Wales. She attended Dennison University in Granville, Ohio, and Carnegie Tech University in Pittsburgh.
She was a dog fancier, and owned Donnanheim Kennels, notable for its champion German shorthair Pointers.
She was active in town affairs, and served as chairman of the Wales School Committee. She was a trustee of the Wales Public Library. She was a special officer and dispatcher for the Wales Police Department for many years.

HOPKINTON -- Harold Rathburn, 75, of Hopkinton, a World War II veteran, died Thursday, April 5, in Beth Israel/Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Jane (Simpson) Rathburn; three daughters, including Sally Rathburn of Worcester; two grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was raised in Woodville and lived many years in Hopkinton. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Rathburn was a salesman in textiles. He previously ran Electime in Boston for 15 years. Most recently, he provided a courier service for Noremac Inc., Westboro. He was a member of veterans organizations, and was the announcer for the start of the Boston Marathon for 25 years.
The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 9, in Woodville Baptist Church, 249 Wood St., Woodville. After cremation, burial will be private in Evergreen Cemetery, Woodville. WORCESTER -- Thomas J. Remillard, 75, of 485 Grove St., died Friday, March 30, at home after being stricken ill.
He leaves three brothers, Frederick P., Francis, and Robert Remillard, all of Worcester; a sister, Florence Gray of West Dennis; several nephews and nieces. A sister, Ellen Thibeault of Worcester, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph Z. and Mary (Doherty) Remillard and attended South High School.
He worked many years at Jamesbury Corp. before retiring. He previously worked at Brown Shoe Co.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
