MILLBURY -- Louise E. (Burrows) Maccini, 76, of 2 Pearl St., formerly of 2 Memorial Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 4, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a brief illness.

She leaves two daughters, Cathy L. Eisnor of Millbury and Lisa M. Joslin of Marlboro; a son, Peter J. Maccini of Worcester; two brothers, Paul K. Burrows of Sutton and David Burrows of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandsons. A brother, Raymond P. Burrows of Sutton, died in 1999. Another brother, Manuel L. Burrows of Douglas, and a sister, Olive G. Burrows of Sutton, both died in 2000. She was born and raised in Sutton, daughter of Leo and Isabelle (Saucier) Burrows, and moved to Millbury in 1959. She attended Sutton High School, and later received her General Equivalency Diploma.

Mrs. Maccini was a licensed practical nurse, and was the night charge nurse at Edgewood Nursing Home, North Grafton, for 12 years. She previously worked several years at Grafton State Hospital.

She was a member of the Greater Grace Nondenominational Church in Marlboro.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Greater Grace Christian Fellowship, 187 Pleasant St., Marlboro, MA 01752.

Robert C. Perry, 69

Wednesday, February 7, 2001

WORCESTER -- Robert C. Perry, 69, of 198 Stafford St., a retired business owner and operator, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.

His wife, Dolores A. (Pasic) Perry, died in 1999. He leaves three daughters, Debora M. Ekross of North Grafton, Denise L. Mundy of Worcester and Dorine A. Mortimer of Spencer; and eight grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of Lewis N. and Ethel (Bowen) Perry, and graduated from South High School. He served in the Navy Reserves.

Mr. Perry owned Perry's Market, retiring three years ago. He was a member of Webster Square Business Association and enjoyed photography and flea markets.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Building Fund, 1222 Main St., Worcester, MA 01603.

George J. Moore, 95

Friday, February 2, 2001

WORCESTER -- George J. Moore, 95, formerly of Wiltshire Drive, a retired merchandising manager, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, in Center for Optimum Care, Falmouth.

His wife, Rose (Marrone) Moore, died in 1995. He leaves two daughters, Irene J. McHenry of Wake Forest, N.C., and Suzanne M. Patrick of Mashpee; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was born in Clinton, son of Peter and Katherine (Cannon) Moore, and lived most of his life in Worcester. He graduated from South High School.

Mr. Moore was merchandising manager at Coghlin Furniture Store, where he worked 52 years, retiring in 1972. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church, and a member of Alhambra Council Knights of Columbus, Worcester Chamber of Commerce, and Sales Executives Club. He enjoyed gardening.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, from Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A calling hour is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, in the funeral home.

Ann E. McGrath, 86

MARLBORO -- Ann E. (Boronski) McGrath, 86, of 240 Main St., a former clothing store worker, died Wednesday, July 25, in Marlboro Hospital, after an illness.

Her husband, John J. McGrath, died in 1967. She leaves a stepson, William J. McGrath of St. Augustine, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Olive M. Cole of Limerick, Maine; two brothers, Frank Boronski of East Hartford, Conn., and John Boronski of Boca Raton, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Ware, daughter of Stanislaw and Stafanie (Bozucka) Boronski, and lived most of her life in Marlboro. She graduated from Ware High School.

Mrs. McGrath was a manager at Riseberg's Clothing Store for more than 25 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Marlboro Senior Citizens and the Marlboro Tenants Association. She enjoyed bowling and cribbage, and called bingo at elderly housing in Marlboro.

The funeral will be held Monday, July 30, from John P. Rowe Funeral Home, 57 Main St., with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A calling hour is 8 to 8:45 a.m. Monday, July 30, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or memorial contributions may be made to Our Danny Cancer Fund, UMass Memorial Foundation, PO Box 2795, Worcester, MA 01613-9938.

Daniel MacDonald Sr.

MARLBORO -- Daniel V. MacDonald Sr., 89, of Marlboro, a former truck driver, died Friday, Jan. 26, in Westridge Healthcare Center after a long illness.

His wife, Frances E. (Bolieau) MacDonald, predeceased him. He leaves a son, Daniel V. MacDonald Jr. of Framingham; a daughter, Rosemary C. Farmer of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Somerville, son of Alexander and Mary (McDonald) MacDonald, and lived many years in Melrose before moving to Marlboro in 1996.

Mr. MacDonald was a truck driver for Fay Transportation Co., in the Allston section of Boston. He was a former member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Melrose, St. Ann's Parish, Medford, and its Holy Name Society.

The funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, from William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., with a Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, 466 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, in the funeral home. Shirley M. Maguire, 81

HOLDEN -- Shirley M. (Meade) Maguire, 81, of 95 Highland Ave., a retired bank senior vice president and director of personnel, died Sunday, Jan. 29, at home after an illness.

Her husband, Thomas Maguire, died in 1964. She leaves a nephew, Wallace F. Snell of Boxford; several grandnephews and grandnieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Francis and Elizabeth (Gillespie) Meade, and graduated from North High School, the Fairchild Office School of Worcester, and the Institute of Financial Education in Chicago.

Mrs. Maguire was senior vice president and director of personnel of the former Freedom Federal Savings Bank of Worcester, retiring in 1984. She worked 45 years at the bank, and was a member of its board of directors. After retiring, she took a position as secretary of the regional advisory board of Northeast Savings.

She served with the American Red Cross, and was associated with the Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, and the Freedom Federal Savings and Loan Association.

She was vice chairman of the board of trustees at Anna Maria College in Paxton, and was on the board of advisers for the Mercy Centre for Developing Disabilities. She was a member of the Personnel Management Association, the Personnel Committee of the U.S. League of Savings Associations, the Executive Committee of the Bishop's Fund, the Diocesan Pastoral/Fiscal Affairs Committee, and the Soroptimist International of Worcester.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 31, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson, MA 01522.

Evelyn M. Malo, 93

Tuesday, February 6, 2001

SPENCER -- Evelyn M. (O'Coin) Malo, 93, of 51 Maple St., died Sunday, Feb. 4, in the Meadows of Leicester.

Her husband, Pierre G. Malo, died in 1982. She leaves two nephews, David R. O'Coin of Spencer and Robert O'Coin Jr. of Ware; two nieces, Diane F. Cummings of Worcester and Linda Briden of West Hartford, Conn.; grandnephews and grandnieces. She was born in Spencer, daughter of Napoleon and Alphonsine (Lamoureux) O'Coin, and graduated from David Prouty High School and Becker College in Worcester.

Mrs. Malo was a bookkeeper 30 years for H.H. Brown Shoe Co. in Worcester, retiring in 1972.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church an its St. Anne's Sodality. She was a former member of the Spencer Golden Age Club.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, from the J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terrace, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 60 Maple St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the funeral home.

Pearl J. Ryder Mandella

WEBSTER -- Pearl J. (Cote) Ryder Mandella, 70, of 44 Batten St., died Sat. Jan. 27, in Hubbard Regional Hospital.

Her husband of 16 years, Donald B. Ryder, died in 1966. She leaves two sons, Dennis D. Ryder of Concord, N.H., and Kenny B. Ryder of Putnam, Conn.; four daughters, Judy A. Gionet and Janice J. Irwin, both of North Grosvenordale, Donna L. Ryder, with whom she lived, and Linda M. Bernier of Webster; four sisters, Dolores Costen of Webster, Elizabeth Jackson of Jeffersontown, Ky., Patricia Trees of Lancaster, Pa., and Ruth Adkins of Worcester; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A brother, Louis J. Cote of Coatesville, Pa., died in 1989. A sister, Rita P. Cobb of Jackson, N.J., died in 1992. She was born in Presque Isle, Maine, daughter of Irvin Cote and Clara M. (Desjardins) Cote Gardiner. She lived in Worcester, Oxford, Charlton and Spencer before moving to Webster in 1966.

Mrs. Mandella worked more than 30 as a spinner at Anglo Fabrics Co., retiring in 1995.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St. After cremation, burial will be in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton, at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to either the Masonic Home, 88 Masonic Hill Road, Charlton MA 01507 or to Alzheimer's Support Network, PO Box 839, Southbridge, MA 01550.

Donald Mandeville Sr.

SPENCER -- Donald B. Mandeville Sr., 59, of 5 Water St., died Tuesday, Feb. 6, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after being stricken ill at home. J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terrace, is directing funeral arrangements, which are incomplete.

Florence Mangano, 81

WORCESTER -- Florence G. (Senecal) Mangano, 81, of 586 Franklin St., died Sunday, Feb. 4, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus after a brief illness.

She leaves her husband of 54 years, Louis A. Mangano; a son, Gary A. Mangano of Worcester; two daughters, Charlene A. D'Errico of Jefferson and Josephine E. LeBlanc of Dudley; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A grandson and two brothers, Orren and David Senecal, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Arthur and Josephine (St. Pierre) Senecal, and graduated from Commerce High School.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Mangano was a self-employed real estate manager. At one time, she owned and operated a day care center.

She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church and its Leisure Club, and was a former member of its women's guild. She was also an enthusiastic traveler and, with her husband, she drove across the country five times.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Road. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the funeral home.

Marguerite J. Manseau

Saturday, February 3, 2001

WORCESTER -- Marguerite J. (Padgett) Manseau, 71, of 66 Barrington Road, Longmeadow, formerly of Worcester, a former health care worker, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, after an illness.

She leaves a son, Ronald Manseau, with whom she lived; a brother, Richard Padgett of Kissimmee, Fla.; nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Donald, Herbert and Lloyd Padgett, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Herbert A. and Marguerite J. (Patterson) Padgett, and lived there most of her life before moving to Longmeadow because of illness. She graduated from Commerce High School.

Mrs. Manseau was a nursing aide at several area health care facilities and also did private duty nursing.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in Robert C. Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or memorial donations made to a charity.

Francis C. Margadonna

LEICESTER -- Francis C. Margadonna, 84, of 1075 Main St., a retired machinist and a veteran of World War II, died Friday, Feb. 2, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Rita O. (Lusignan) Margadonna; two sons, Alfred R. Margadonna of Cambridge, N.Y., and Leonard G. “Lucky” Margadonna of Leicester; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; several step-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Marlboro, son of Julius and Mary (Santora) Margadonna, and lived in Worcester before moving to Leicester in 1946. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Margadonna was a machinist for Lusignan Bros., Worcester, for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Pius X Church, and a former member of the Leicester Board of Appeals. He was an amateur ham radio operator, and used the handle K1AGR.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6, from Morrison-Morin Funeral Home, 1131 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1154 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leicester Brotherhood Firefighters Relief Fund, 15 Water St., Leicester, MA 01524; or to Leicester Friends of the Elders, PO Box 242, Leicester, MA 01524.

Albert R. Marin, 76

UPTON -- Albert R. Marin, 76, of 11 Wildwood Ave., a retired machinist, died Saturday, Jan. 27, at home after an illness.

His wife of 53 years, Cecile (Miller) Marin, died in 1997. He leaves a son, Daniel A. Marin of Upton, with whom he lived; a daughter, Mary anne Bottom of Auburn; two brothers, Paul Marin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Victor Marin of Hopkinton; eight grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Lucille and Betty ann Marin, died in a house fire in Upton in 1961. He was born in Fitchburg, son of Louis H. and Eugenie “Mary” (Berube) Marin, and lived most of his life in Upton.

Mr. Marin worked in machine maintenance, including 20 years at Washington Mills Abrasives, North Grafton, 18 years at Green Brothers Machine & Tool, Worcester, and seven years at Wheetabix in Clinton. He retired in 1989. He was a member of Holy Angels Parish.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30, from Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Milford Street. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, in the funeral home.

Lawrence Marvin Jr. 77

WORCESTER -- Lawrence G. Marvin Jr., 77, of 4 Willow St., died Monday, Feb. 5, in Life Care Center of Auburn after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Pauline S. (Lindquist) Marvin; two sons, Gary W. Marvin of Worcester and Steven P. Marvin of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Lisa M. McKenna of Worcester and Pamela A. Champagne of Miami; two brothers, John P. Marvin of Huntsville, Ala., and Frederick W. Marvin of Culver City, Calif.; a sister, Jean E. Brothers of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Greensboro, N.C., son of Lawrence G. Marvin Sr. and Ethel (Wilson) Marvin, and lived most of his life in Worcester.

Mr. Marvin worked 20 years for White and Bagley Co., retiring in 1988. He previously was a baker 30 years at Town Talk Bakery.

He was active in Boy Scouts of America Mohegan Council as an assistant scout master of troops 88 and 89; a committeeman for the cub scouts; a sponsor of the Mohegan Council Pinewood Derby. He was also an assistant coach for Hebert Candy Girls Basketball League; a coach for Cotituit Motors girls softball team; a past councilor for the United Commercial Travelers Fraternity 136; a member of the Bakers and Confectioners Union; and a past president of the Greendale Men's Club.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Association of Central Massachusetts, 1 Abbey Lane, Middleboro, MA 02346; or to another charity.
