WORCESTER -- Alyce R. (Enright) Becker, 86, of 84 Randolph Road, a retired nurse's aide, died Saturday, Jan. 20, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus.

Her husband of 40 years, Raymond J. Becker Sr., died in 1982. She leaves a son, Raymond J. Becker Jr. of Rutland; a grandson, Joseph R. Becker of Rutland; a granddaughter, Colleen M. Becker of Rutland; a nephew. Two brothers, John and Joseph Enright, and a sister, Mary Bolosky, all of Marlboro, predeceased her. She was born in Clinton, daughter of Joseph A. and Hannah (Goulding) Enright, and lived 60 years in Worcester.

Mrs. Becker was a nurse's aide 15 years at the Odd Fellows Home, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, from Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the funeral home. Mary D. Benson, 68

DOUGLAS -- Mary D. Benson, 68, of 127 Shore Drive, formerly of Ashland, a retired employee of the Natick Lab, died Friday, Jan. 19, at her home.

She leaves three sons, John Kristjanson of Valrico, Fla., Mark Kristjanson of Auburndale and Paul Kristjanson of Naperville, Ill.; his mother, Mary Benson of Largo, Fla.; and a granddaughter. She was born in Detroit, daughter of John A. Benson.

Ms. Benson worked at the Natick Lab, Natick, for 20 years, before retiring in 1997.

A memorial service will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the Boat House Room at the Mariott Hotel, Newton. The Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., East Douglas, is directing arrangements.

Frances M. Berard, 84

MILLBURY -- Frances M. (Malhoit) Berard, 84, formerly of 79 Wheelock Ave. and formerly of Worcester, a retired machine operator, died Friday, Jan. 19, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.

Her husband, George H. Berard, died in 1981. She leaves two sons, Francis G. Berard of Worcester and Richard E. Berard of Shrewsbury; a brother, Kenneth Malhoit of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Mary (Lavender) Malhoit, and lived most of her life in Worcester.

Mrs. Berard was a machine operator 28 years in the laundry department of City Hospital, Worcester, retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, Worcester.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, from Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the funeral home.

Laurent E. Bessette, 87

PLAINFIELD, Conn. -- Laurent E. Bessette, 87, of 223 Pickett Road, died Monday, Jan. 22, at home.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Beatrice (Monroe) Bessette; three sons, including Dr. Robert Bessette of Holden; three daughters; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.

Along with his wife, Mr. Bessette owned and operated a dairy farm many years, and also operated a roofing business. He later worked for Pervel Industries, retiring in 1977.

He was a member of St. John the Apostle Church, and enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, from Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Road, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Apostle Church, 10 Railroad Ave. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Apostle Church, 10 Railroad Ave., Plainfield, CT 06374 or the Laurent and Beatrice Bessette Scholarship Fund, c/o Brandy Landry, Citizens Bank, 16 Railroad Ave., Plainfield, CT 06374.

A. Louise Blair, 85

UPTON -- A. Louise (Jones) Blair, 85, of 134 Main St., West Upton, formerly of Northbridge, a retired assembler, died Saturday, Jan. 20, in Northbridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Her husband, James W. Blair Jr., died in 1966. She leaves a son, James W. Blair III of Northbridge; two daughters, Linda L. Antonio of Westboro and Sally Gariepy of Tewksbury; a brother, Arthur Jones of Douglas; a sister, Beverly Kurtyka of Oxford; seven grandchildren. Two brothers, George and Winford “Casey” Jones, both of Whitinsville, predeceased her. She was born in Northbridge, daughter of Winford “Sally” and Bertha (Wood) Jones, and moved to Upton in 1981. She graduated from Northbridge High School, where she was a standout basketball player.

Mrs. Blair was an assembler several years at Fenwal Corp. in Ashland before retiring. She previously worked many years at the former Phillips Market in Whitinsville.

She was a member of Rockdale Congregational Church in Northbridge, and enjoyed bowling and dancing.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity.

Mary A. Blake, 94

STURBRIDGE -- Mary A. (Hyland) Blake, 94, of 52 Shattuck Road, died Sunday, Jan. 21, in Sandalwood Nursing Home, Oxford, after an illness.

Her husband, Edward J. Blake, died in 1976. She leaves four sons, Barry L. Blake of Southbridge, Thomas E. Blake of Bethlehem, N.H., Gerald J. Blake of Sturbridge, and Peter J. Blake of Bondsville; three sisters, Elizabeth Robinson of Wilmington, N.C., Louise Kearns of Sturbridge and Ruth Mega of Wilbraham; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Joseph, Justin, F. James, and Thomas Hyland, and a sister, Margaret Coles, predeceased her. She was born in Fiskdale, daughter of Joseph M. and Catherine (Conway) Hyland.

Mrs. Blake was a hostess many years at the Publick House Restaurant, and was later a hostess at the Old Sturbridge Village Tavern before retiring.

She was a member of St. Anne's and St. Patrick's Parish. She was a member of the Sturbridge.

The memorial Mass will be held at a later date in St. Anne's Church, 16 Church St. Burial will be in St. Anne's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sturbridge Fire Department, 346 Main St., Sturbridge, MA 01566. Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.

Signe V. Bogren, 87

WORCESTER -- Signe V. (Pearson) Bogren, 87, of 4 Othello Road, died Friday, Jan. 19, in Sunbridge of Millbury.

Her husband of 41 years, Otto J. Bogren, died in 1975. She leaves a son, Robert G. Bogren of Venice, Fla.; two daughters, Ruth G. Gardell of Winter Park, Fla., and Susan E. Caracciolo of Worcester; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Oscar and Elsa (Engstrom) Pearson, and attended Worcester schools.

Mrs. Bogren was a homemaker.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in Nordgren, Carrigan, Mangsen Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity.

Antonia Bouchard, 88

WARE -- Antonia Bouchard, 88, of 4 Ashley St., a retired housekeeper, died Thursday, Jan. 18, in Quaboag on the Common, West Brookfield.

She leaves several cousins, including Jeanne Lukaskiewicz, with whom she lived. She was born in Ware, daughter of Pierre and Benoza (Provost) Bouchard, and lived in Springfield before returning to Ware 10 years ago.

She was a housekeeper at St. Thomas Aquinas Rectory, Springfield, retiring in 1989. She was a member of All Saints Church and its Ladies of St. Anne. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Thomas Aquinas churches.

The funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 22, from Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, North Street. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. A calling period is 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the funeral home.

Helen I. Byron, 87

LUNENBURG -- Helen I. (Klockars) Byron, 87, of 131 White St., died Monday, Jan. 22, in the Birchwood Care Center in Fitchburg.

Her husband, Victor E. Byron, died in 1981. She leaves a son, Richard G. Byron of Lunenburg; a daughter, Susan H. Lariviere of Gardner; a brother, George Klockars of Gardner; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Roger V. Byron of Ashburnham, died in 1971. She was born in Gardner, daughter of Edward and Ida (Burg) Klockars, and lived 25 years in Ashburnham. She moved to Lunenburg in 1970. She attended Gardner High School.

Mrs. Byron was a member of the United Parish in Lunenburg and the Lunenburg Friendly Seniors.

The funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 25, in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave. Burial will be in New Cemetery in Ashburnham. A calling hour will be held from 11 to noon Thursday, Jan. 25, in the funeral home. Francis P. Carruthers, 77

WORCESTER -- Francis P. Carruthers, 77, of 22 Brigham Road, a Navy Veteran of World War II, died Sunday, Jan. 22, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after being stricken ill.

He leaves a brother, Albert Carruthers of Worcester; three sisters, Lillian Jenkins of Marlboro, Edythe Oliviera of Auburn and Katherine Bradley of North Carolina; nephews and nieces; and a companion of 28 years, Wayne M. Svedberg, with whom he lived. Four brothers, Gerald, Charles, Robert and Harold Carruthers, predeceased him. Three sisters, Phyllis Carruthers, Laura Provost and Elzora Gordon, predeceased him. He was born in Leominster, son of Walter and Lottle (Eye) Carruthers. He was educated in the Worcester public schools. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. He retired from the U.S.S. Constitution in 1980.

Mr. Carruthers was a quality control inspector at the TJ Maxx warehouse in Worcester for many years, working until the time of his death. He previously worked in shipping and receiving at the former Brown Shoe Co., for over 38 years, retiring when the company closed in 1980. He was a master leader in Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed flowers and landscaping.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, in the The Garden Chapel of Arthur S. Manzi & Son Funeral Home, 179 Shrewsbury St. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bosler Humane Society, Winchendon, MA 01475 or to the Joslin Diabetes Clinic, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, 02203.

Yolanda M. Castagnetti

WEST BOYLSTON -- Yolanda M. (DePatsy) Castagnetti, 83, of 2 Sterling Place, died Sunday, Jan. 21, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, Worcester, after an illness.

Her husband, Joseph V. Castagnetti, died in 1980. She leaves two daughters, Donna M. Smith of West Boylston and Joy B. Knipscheer of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. A son, Richard A. Castagnetti of Sterling, died in 1988 and another son, Bernard J. Castagnetti of West Boylston, died in 1999. She was born in West Boylston, daughter of Patsy and Angelina (Mascetti) DePatsy, and attended West Boylston schools.

Mrs. Castagnetti worked several years for the Foster Grant Co. in Leominster, retiring in 1980.

She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in the spring in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Boylston Ambulance Fund, 39 Worcester St., West Boylston, MA 01583 or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Bay State Chapter, 20 Walnut St., suite 318, Wellesley, MA 02484.

Nancy M. Charland, 39

GARDNER -- Nancy M. (Fales) Charland, 39, of 77 Princeton St., died Friday, Jan. 19, in Heywood Hosptial after a long illness.

Her husband of seven years, Mark W. Charland, died in May. She leaves two sons, Donald K. and Michael A. Fales, both of Gardner; her father, David Fales of Saugus; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Irene (Brunell) Fales. She received her general equivalency diploma, and graduated from the certified nursing assistant program at Mount Wachusett Community College.

Mrs. Charland was a nursing assistant four years at the former Gardner Manor Nursing Home.

She was a member of First Church of Templeton and the Snow Bound Club.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in Boucher Funeral Home, 110 Nichols St. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Robert H. Clark Sr., 80

HOLDEN -- Robert H. Clark Sr., 80, of 122 Mount View Drive, founder and president of Clark Mailing Service, died Saturday, Jan. 20, in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 58 years, Dorothy E. (Eisnor) Clark; two sons, Robert H. Clark Jr. of Millbury and Gerald Clark of Worcester; four daughters, Katherine A. Guinette of Holden, Nancy A. Moberg of West Brookfield, Janice M. Ruggieri of Worcester, and Linda J. Sullivan of Middletown, R.I.; a brother, Arthur Clark of Worcester; a sister, Myrtle Krukonis of Auburn; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of Robert and Katherine (Doyle) Clark, and graduated from St. Peter's High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He lived 70 years in Worcester before moving to Holden.

Mr. Clark was a training supervisor many years for the U.S. Postal Service. In 1963, he founded Clark Mailing Service in Worcester, retiring as president in 1991.

He was a past Grand Knight of Alhambra Council 88 Knights of Columbus. He was a former president of the Kiawanis Club of Worcester, and was a founding member of the Central Mass. Postal Customer Council of Worcester.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 9 Hammond St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 40 Brattle St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clara Barton Diabetes Center, 30 Ennis Road, Oxford, MA 01540.

Roger J. Cormier, 69

LEOMINSTER -- Roger J. Cormier, 69, of 159 Fifth St., died Thursday, Jan. 18, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Doris Cormier; a son, Normand Cormier of Bristol, N.H.; a daughter, Linda Cormier of Leominster; five brothers, Donald Cormier of Leominster, Leandre, Albeo, Alderice and Napolean Cormier, all of New Brunswick, Canada; three sisters, Evelyn Gaudet of Gardner, Aline LeBlanc, and Elmira Cormier, both of New Brunswick; a granddaughter; nephews and nieces. A brother, Clement Cormier of Gardner and two sisters, Melinda Cormier of Leominster and Alvina Leger of Canada, predeceased him. He was born in New Brunswick, son of Ambroise and Mary R. (LeBlanc) Cormier, and moved to America many years ago.

Mr. Cormier worked many years at Heald Machine Co. in Worcester, retiring in 1993.

He enjoyed gardening and fishing, and was a member of St. Cecilia's Church.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, from M.A. Simard and Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St. Burial will be private. A calling hour will be from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joslin Diabetes Clinic, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.

D. Marion Corricelli, 82

WHITING, Vt. -- D. Marion (Halsdorff) Corricelli, 82, of 299 North Main St., formerly of Ashby, Mass., and Worcester, Mass., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, in Porter Medical Center, Middlebury.

Her husband, Dominic Corricelli, died in 1977. She leaves three daughters, Roseana Koopman of St. Petersburg, Fla., Regina Tipp of Henderson, Nev., and Elmira Carito of Fitchburg, Mass.; six sons, Dominic Corricelli of Uxbridge, Edward, Robert and Joseph Corricelli, all of Fitchburg, Francis Curran of Charlotte, N.C. and Richard Curran of Whiting, with whom she lived; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Her first husband, Albert Daigle, died in 1949. A son, Matthew Daigle, and a daughter, Maryann Daigle, predeceased her. She was born in Albany, N.Y., daughter of Matthew and Martha W. (Binley) Halsdorff.

Mrs. Corricelli enjoyed crocheting and doing jigsaw puzzles.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, in Robbins Memorial Church, 59 Munson St., Greenfield, Mass.

Edna Courchesne, 80

WARE -- Edna (Bourgault) Courchesne, 80, of 18 Crescent St., a retired cook, died Thursday, Jan. 18, at home after an illness.

She leaves two sons, Marc A. and Jean P. Courchesne, both of Ware; three daughters, Jocelyn Courtney and Michele Blaine, both of Ware, and Tina Gerulaitis of Oakham; three brothers, Eugene and Roland Bourgault, both of Ware, and Alfred Bourgault of the Three Rivers section of Palmer; five sisters, Rita Dubrule, Anita Kupiec, Therese Delongchamps, Priscilla Chevrette and Jean Bourcier, all of Ware; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A brother, Ernest Bourgault, predeceased her. She was born in Ware, daughter of Henri and Clara (Berthiaume) Bourgault.

Mrs. Courchesne was a cook at Belchertown Developmental Center, retiring in 1984. She was a member of All Saints Church and the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and its Ladies of St. Anne. She was a member of Ware Golden Agers, Ware Senior Center, and Daughters of Isabella.

The funeral service and burial will be held at the family's convenience. There are no calling hours. Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., is directing arrangements.
