WEBSTER -- Ellen M. (Smith) Smith, 86, of 22 Nancy Drive, a retired partner of the family hardware store, died Thursday, Jan. 13, in Hubbard Regional Hospital.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, Herbert J. Smith Sr.; two sons, Herbert J. Smith Jr. of Marietta, Ga., and Robert E. Smith of North Easton; a daughter, Patricia DesRoches of Webster; two sisters, Gertrude Lynch of Providence, R.I., and Amelia Peterson of North Providence; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nephews and nieces. She was born and raised in Providence, daughter of William and Amelia (Hawkes) Smith, and graduated from a Xavier High School and Bryant College, both in Providence. She lived more than 35 years in Millis before moving here in 1978.
Mrs. Smith was a partner and vice president of Charles A. Smith Hardware Store from 1920 until the business was sold in 1962. She then worked in the cafeteria at Clyde Brown Elementary School, Millis, retiring in 1978.
In Millis, she was a member of St. Thomas Church and was active with its Catholic Daughters. She was an active volunteer with the Millis Little League and Girl Scouts and a member of St. Louis Church, here.
The funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 17, from Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Millis. There are no calling hours. BARRINGTON, R.I. -- Yvette R. (Gadry) Casey, 75, of Orchard Avenue, a retired clerk, died Monday, Aug. 7, in Rhode Island Hospital.
Her husband, John J. Casey, died before her. She leaves her stepmother; two sons, including John R. Casey of Worcester, Mass.; two daughters; a sister; a stepsister; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Casey was a clerk at the former Ben Franklin Store for more than 27 years, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of St. Jean the Baptiste Church in Warren.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Aug. 9, from William J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Warren, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Jean the Baptiste Church, Main Street, Warren. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Warren.
Bernard E. Cross, 76

NORTH BROOKFIELD -- Bernard E. Cross, 76, of 271 Main St., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth I. (Johnson) Cross; and two nephews, John J. Decoteau of Spencer and Mitchel E. Decoteau of Yelleville, Ark. Born in North Brookfield, son of Harold E. and Elsie (Carlstead) Cross, he attended North Brookfield schools.
Mr. Cross was a foreman at J.J. Warren, then Dekalb Corp., chicken farms, where he worked 39 years, retiring in 1985.
At his request, no funeral service is planned. After cremation, burial will be at the family's convenience. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terrace, Spencer, is directing funeral arrangements. '
Charles T. Lovett, 82

SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. -- Charles T. Lovett, 82, of Sun City Center, formerly of Waltham, Mass., died Wednesday, Aug. 9, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.
His wife, Gertrude E. (Lavey) Lovett, died in 1993. He leaves a daughter, Elayn Byron of Sterling, Mass.; a son, David C. Lovett of Northboro, Mass.; and five grandchildren. He was born in Cambridge, son of Thomas and Catherine (Coggins) Lovett, and lived many years in Waltham before moving to Sun City Center in 1984. He was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Lovett was active in the Teamsters Union Local 25.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, in St. Paul Church, Bow and Arrow streets, Cambridge. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Arlington. There are no calling hours. Mark C. Wilson, 78

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Mark C. “Curt” Wilson, 78, of 800 Cove Cay and of Dover, N.H., formerly of Ware, Mass., an entomologist and author, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, in Morton Plante Hospital.
He leaves a brother, Lyndon Wilson of Ware; an aunt, Edna Richardson of Worcester; nephews and nieces. He was born in Ware, son of Lyndon and Clara (Richardson) Wilson, and lived there and in West Lafayette, Inc., before moving to Florida in 1987. He graduated from Ware High School and from Massachusetts State College. He earned a master's degree in Entomology from Ohio State University in 1946.
Mr. Wilson worked for the Department of Entomology of Purdue University form 1947 to 1987.
He was a member of the United Church of Ware. He also co-authored a series of textbooks and wrote several papers and articles on insect pest management. He served as a consultant for the Food and Agricultural Organization of Rumania and, after retirement, as a marine docent of the University of New Hampshire. He also volunteered at Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, in the United Church of Ware, Church Street, Ware. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery in Brookfield, Mass. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Ware, Church Street, Ware, MA 01082. Charbonneau Funeral Home, 20 Pleasant St., Ware, is directing arrangements.
Grace P. Borus, 68

WEBSTER -- Grace P. (Saucier) Borus, 68, of 33 Arkwright Road, a retired intake coordinator, died Thursday, April 19, at home after being stricken ill.
Her husband of 30 years, Robert L. Borus, died in 1985. She leaves two sons, Gregory G. Borus of Worcester and Jeffrey R. Borus of Thompson; her mother, Sophie B. (Knych) Saucier of Webster; and a grandson. She was born in Webster, daughter of Donat A. “Duke” Saucier, and lived most of her life in Webster. She graduated from Bartlett High School and attended Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester.
Mrs. Borus was a registered nurse at Hahnemann Hospital and then a bookkeeper for her husband's accounting firm, Robert L. Borus and Associates. She later was an intake coordinator 10 years at the Visiting Nurse Association, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of St. Joseph Basilica and its Holy Rosary Sodality, and volunteered at the annual church festival. She enjoyed bowling, flea markets, bingo and reading.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 23, from Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at noon in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Thomas C. Martin, 40, of 6 Bart Drive, formerly of Worcester, Mass., died Sunday, Feb. 27, in University of Connecticut Medical Center, Farmington, Conn.
He leaves a daughter, Casey E. Martin of Holden, Mass.; a son, Thomas J. Martin of Holden; a sister, Patricia M. Arcari of Medfield, Mass.; his father, Thomas P. Martin of Naragansett; two brothers, Peter J. Martin of Canton, Mass. and Paul J. Martin of Riverside. He was born in Providence, son of Anna M. (Gradilone) Martin, and grew up in Cranston. He lived in Worcester for 18 years before moving to East Providence in September.
Mr. Martin was a restaurant manager at the Boynton Restaurant in Worcester for the past 18 years.
The funeral will be held Thursday, March 2, from Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. FITCHBURG -- Angelina E. (Allard) May, 91, of 35 Day St., died Sunday, August 6, in Leominster Hospital.
Her husband, George E. May, died in 1953. She leaves nephews and nieces; and grandnephews and grandnieces. Five sisters, Florina Clouthier, Rosanna Houle, Rose Boulanger, Odena Richard and Mary Gammell, all died before her. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Alfred and Melvina (Cantra) Allard, and later lived in Townsend for 16 years, before returning to Fitchburg in 1953. She attended Fitchburg Public Schools.
Mrs. May worked for the former Cluett Peabody Co. in Leominster for 45 years, retiring when the company closed. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, August 8, from the Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 81 Sheridan St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. DUDLEY -- Jean A. (Coonan) Antos, 73, of 85 Mason Road, a retired bookkeeper, died Friday, April 27, in Hubbard Regional Hospital, Webster, after being stricken ill at home.
She leaves her husband of 48 years, Edward M. Antos; a daughter, Jayne H. Antos of Dudley; three sisters, Olive E. and Gladys F. Coonan and Ethel M. Elliott, all of Oxford; a brother, George F. Coonan Jr. of Oxford; nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. A sister, Doris J. Marsh of Dudley, died in 1985. A brother, Joseph Coonan of Oxford, died in 1999. She was born and raised in Oxford, daughter of George F. Coonan Sr. and Gladys (Ellis) Coonan, and lived in Dudley since 1953. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1945, where she played basketball and did volunteer nursing for the American Red Cross.
Mrs. Antos was a bookkeeper 12 years in the accounting department at American Optical Co., Southbridge, and then at Friendly's ice cream shop in Webster before retiring. She was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Parish.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 30, from Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St. Her godson, the Rev. Joseph A. Coonan, will be the main celebrant. Burial will be in St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 29, in the funeral home.

GRAFTON -- Ella H. (Imbescheid) George, 85, of Pleasant Street, a longtime kindergarten teacher, died Saturday, Feb. 3, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, Worcester, after a long illness.
Her husband, John S. George, died in 1966. She leaves a daughter, Elaine D. Tillotson of Grafton; three grandchildren, Frederick Tillotson III in South Carolina, Andrew G. Tillotson of Hudson and Lisa E. Rheaume of Charlton; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was born in Boston, daughter of John and Rosa (Hess) Imbescheid, and lived in Dedham before moving to Grafton in 1976. She graduated from Boston Latin High School, Boston.
Mrs. George was a kindergarten teacher at the Pied Piper School in Dedham for 35 years.
The funeral service will be held at a time to be announced on Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Robert C. Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Burial will be private in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in the funeral home.
