David J. Hyde, 78

GLOUCESTER -- David J. Hyde, 78, of Gloucester, an office manager for many years, died Sunday in Addison Gilbert Hospital after an illness.
He leaves a sister, Alice M. Gray of Gloucester; nephews and nieces; several grandnephews; and a grandniece. He was born in Salem, son of David J. and Alice I. (Pelletier) Hyde, and lived here many years. He graduated from Salem High School.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in Asia and the Pacific. He saw action at Iwo Jima and several other battles. He also served in the Marines during the Korean War.
Mr. Hyde was a manager at Massachusetts Electric Co. offices in Gloucester for 20 years. He later worked in the Westboro office before he retired.
A funeral service will be private. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at James C. Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St.
Angelina Imondi, 90

WARE -- Angelina (Pezza) Imondi, 90, a resident of Amherst Nursing Home, Amherst, formerly of Belchertown Road, Ware, died yesterday at Cooley-Dickinson Hospital, Northampton.
Her husband of 52 years, Angelo Imondi, died in 1981. She leaves two daughters, Roberta Gannon of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and Elaine Valardi of Belchertown; a sister, Sarah Santoro of Johnston, R.I.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. A son, Angelo Imondi of Johnston, died in 1968. She was born in Johnston, daughter of Bartholemew and Josephine (Buco) Pezza, and lived 53 years in Ware and eight years in Belchertown before moving to the nursing home three years ago.
Mrs. Imondi and her husband owned and operated Angelo's Restaurant in Ware for more than 35 years, retiring in 1980. She also worked at Ware Knitters Inc. and Bay Path Woolens Inc., both in Ware. She was a member of All Saints Church, Ware, and of Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston, and its St. Anne Sodality.
The funeral will be held Friday from Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., with a Mass at noon in All Saints Church, North Street. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
Mildred A. Irons, 80

LUNENBURG -- Mildred A. (Lewis) Irons, 80, of 44 Pratt St., a sales clerk for many years, died Saturday at home after an illness.
Her husband, Samuel R. Irons, died in 1980. She leaves a daughter, Carol A. Catalini of Leominster; two grandsons; and a great-grandchild. She was born in Boston, daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Danehy) Lewis, and lived here most of her life.
Mrs. Irons was a sales clerk at Rogers in the Square and Allen's Department store, both in Fitchburg, for many years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster, the Friendly Seniors and the Women's Club, both in Lunenburg.
The funeral will be held Wednesday from the Lunenburg Chapel of Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
Yvonne M. Jette, 92

MILLBURY -- Yvonne M. (Bourke) Jette, 92, formerly of 68A Millbury Ave., a former joint owner of a bus company and an automotive garage, and community volunteer, died yesterday in Providence House Nursing Home of Millbury.
Her husband of 60 years, Leo D. Jette, died in 1986. She leaves a son, Richard L. Jette of Danielson, Conn.; two daughters, Lorraine Y. Lincoln of Plymouth and Jeanne Sohigian of Whitinsville; a brother, George A. Bourke of Westboro; three sisters, Loretta Casper of Westboro, Lucille McDermott of Thompson and Thelma MarcAurelle of Worcester and Barefoot Bay, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A daughter, Pauline Paradis of Worcester, died in 1977. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Anthony C. “Pete” and Roseanna (Goyette) Bourke, and moved to Millbury in 1947. She lived several years in Danielson before returning here recently.
She and her husband owned and operated Jette School Bus Co. and Jette Garage for many years before they retired.
Mrs. Jette was a volunteer for many years with the Millbury Girls' Drum Corps, Power's Star Harmony Drum Corps and St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She also fashioned afghans for the Millbury Women's Club and veterans' and community groups.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, its Social Club, its St. Anne's Sodality and the Franco-American Progressive Club.
The funeral will be held tomorrow from Turgeon Funeral Home, 64 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 14 Waters St. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Christine N. Joly, 90, active in church affairs

HOLDEN -- Christine N. (Riordan) Joly, 90, of 68 Reservoir St., formerly of Worcester, was stricken ill and died Sunday in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
Her husband, Ovila E. “Smiley” Joly, died in 1978. She leaves a daughter, Barbara A. Larson of Worcester; and several nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Michael M. and Margaret M. (Ring) Riordan, and lived there most of her life. She lived 17 years in Holden. She graduated from Ascension High School in Worcester.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Chaffins Women's Club and the Ascension High School Alumni Association.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow from Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Louise A. Kahara, 77

FITCHBURG -- Louise A. (Adams) Kahara, 77, formerly of 478 Pearl St., an apparel stitcher for many years, died Saturday in Mariner Health Care of Fitchburg after a long illness.
Her husband, Tenho A. Kahara, died in 1984. She leaves a son, Thomas A. Kahara of Fitchburg; two daughters, Susan Van Dyke of Colleyville, Texas, and Deidre Walter of Glendale, Ariz.; two sisters, Marie Cobb of Magnolia and Frances Smith of Leominster; four granddaughters; nephews and nieces. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Alexander and Mary (Klug) Adams. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1939.
Mrs. Kahara was a stitcher at Asher Pants Co. for many years, retiring in 1985.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Fitchburg Chapel of Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 129 Elm St. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
Mabel C. Kellstedt, 89

SHREWSBURY -- Mabel C. (Clark) Kellstedt, 89, of 30 Julio Drive, died Saturday in Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
Her husband, Charles W. Kellstedt, died several years ago. She leaves a son, Charles W. Kellstedt Jr. of Sudbury; a sister, Ernestine Martens on Long Island, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., daughter of Ernest and Agnes (Flint) Clark, and lived many years in New Jersey and later Virginia and Weston, before moving here in 1990. She graduated from Wellesley College.
She was a longtime member of the Wellesley Club.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the chapel at Southgate at Shrewsbury, 30 Julio Drive. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., is directing arrangements.
Harry O. Keskinen, 51

FITCHBURG -- Harry O. Keskinen, 51, of 15 Essex St., a former marathon runner, died Sunday in Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, Jamaica Plain section of Boston, after a long illness.
He leaves no immediate family. He was born in Gardner, son of Otto E. and Bertha H. (Tuomi) Keskinen, and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1965.
Mr. Keskinen had been a marathon runner until 1980 when he was involved in an automobile accident which left him disabled. He then spent most of his time walking around the Fitchburg area with his Chow Chow dog, Davy Crockett. His first companion was Kale, a German shepherd, who also accompanied him on many walks.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow in Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. After cremation, burial will be in Shuman Yard Cemetery in Waldoboro, Maine.
Raymond J. Kirwin, 85

EUGENE, Ohio -- Raymond J. Kirwin, 85, of 1846 Jefferson St., formerly of Worcester and Spencer, Mass., Army veteran of World War II and retired sales representative, died Sunday in Sacred Heart Hospital.
His wife, Mary F. (Hickey) Kirwin, died in 1981. He leaves a daughter, Rhoda M. Kirwin, with whom he lived; a son, Raymond F. Kirwin of Oakham; a brother, William F. Kirwin of Millbury; seven sisters, Barbara Ann Loconto, Madeleine K. Avedian and Catherine Ferry, all of Worcester, Theresa Small of Webster, Rita Dunn of Jamestown, R.I., Mary Josephine Denning of Southbridge and Patricia Cuccaro of Lewisville, Texas; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; nieces and nephews. A son, John J. Kirwin of Spencer, died in 1988. He was born in Worcester, son of John J. and Ruby M. (Cleveland) Kirwin, and lived 25 years in Spencer before moving to Eugene in 1994. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in France, Germany and the Philippines.
Mr. Kirwin was a window and door sales representative for most of his career. He worked many years for Glasscraft Co. and Champion Door Co., both in the Worcester area, retiring in 1978. He was a former member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Spencer.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity. Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
Robert G. Lamothe, 64

PUTNAM, Conn. -- Robert G. Lamothe, 64, of Bonita Court, Naples, Fla., formerly of Putnam, Army veteran of the Korean War and retired owner and operator of Modern Lumber Co., died yesterday at a residence in Putnam.
His wife of 32 years, Rita (Lavallee) Lamothe, died Jan. 3. He leaves a son, Thomas Lamothe of Northboro, Mass.; a daughter, Kathryn Smith of Roberts, Wis.; a brother, Francis Lamothe of Putnam; nephews and nieces. He was born in Putnam, son of Walter and Emily (Chenette) Lamothe, and moved to Naples in 1996. He graduated from Putnam High School and from Bryant College in Rhode Island. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Lamothe owned and operated Modern Lumber Co. on Canal Street for more than 32 years, retiring in 1993. He was previously an auditor at American Optical in Southbridge, Mass., for several years. He was a member of St. Mary Church of the Visitation. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating.
The funeral will be held Saturday from Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St. Burial will be at the family's convenience in St. Mary's Cemetery. Frank R. Lapriore Jr., 40

GRAFTON -- Frank R. Lapriore Jr., 40, of 18.5 Snow Road, North Grafton, formerly of 85 Standish St., Worcester, a mason for many years, was stricken ill and died yesterday at home.
He leaves his wife of 16 years, Theresa M. (George) Lapriore; twin sons, Christopher F. and Michael E. Lapriore, all at home; his father, Frank R. Lapriore Sr. of Shrewsbury; a brother, Peter P. Lapriore of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Mary Ann Dumont of Shrewsbury and Paula Lapriore of Worcester; uncles and aunts; and several nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Wanda (Nowosilecki) Lapriore, and was raised in Shrewsbury. He then lived 20 years in Worcester before moving to North Grafton last year. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School.
Mr. Lapriore was a mason at University of Massachusetts Medical Center since 1991. He was previously a mason for three years at Worcester State Hospital. Before then, he was a brick mason, working with his father, for many years. He coached baseball in the Jack Barry Little League in Worcester for several years. He recently completed construction of his new home in North Grafton.
The funeral will be held Wednesday from Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
