Stanley L. Morse
Stanley L. Morse, 89, of Watertown, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002. He was the husband of the late Olive F. (Lane) Morse.
Born in Barnstable on Aug. 19, 1913, he was employed as a manager for the Exxon Company.
Mr. Morse was the father of Martha L. Morse of Watertown, Raymond H. Morse of Belmont, Stephen L. Morse of East Sandwich, Susan A. Morse of California, Robert L. Morse of Sudbury, Richard L. Morse of West Chazy, N.Y. and Gretchen Fedas of Watertown. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy W. Healy and Mildred I. Morse.
Funeral services were held in the Stanton Funeral Home, Watertown, on Wednesday, Jan. 23 with interment in Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Mary M. Sullivan, 90, of Belmont
Mary M. (Downing) Sullivan, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2002, at the Meadow Green Nursing Center in Waltham. She was the wife of the late Lt. Detective Jeremiah Sullivan of the Massachusetts State Police.
Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah J. and Hannah M. (McCarthy) Downing. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School System in Somerville. She had been secretary to the commissioner of the MDC Police Department, bookkeeper at State Street Bank and Trust Co., and also a bookkeeper at Harvard University.
A resident of Belmont for more than 62 years, she was a member of The Guild of St. Gerard and the senior citizen organization of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Belmont, and the Belmont and Waltham senior citizen programs.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by three sons, Jeremiah J. Sullivan Jr. of Belmont, John Thomas Sullivan of Hartford, Conn. and James Sullivan of New York; a daughter, Joanne Marut of Illinois; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Belmont, Thursday, Jan. 24 with the Rev. James McGowan officiating. Interment was in the family lot at Belmont Cemetery with the Rev. McGowan reading the committal prayers.,
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of J.M. Reardon Funeral Home.
Aileen G. Smart, 87, of Belmont
BELMONT — Aileen G. Smart, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Smart.
She was born Feb. 8, 1914, and was a graduate of Radcliffe College, Class of 1935, which honored her in 2000 with an award for service to her class. Mrs. Smart had been a resident of Belmont for 55 years.
For more than 20 years, she was assistant to the head of Belmont Day School and administrative assistant for the Belmont Day Camp.
Mrs. Smart was a member of the Mount Auburn Hospital Auxiliary, the Belmont Women’s Club, and the Belmont Republican Town Committee.
She is survived by two sons, Jonathan W. Smart and his wife Nina of San Diego, Calif., and Charles N. Smart and his wife Ann of Belmont; a daughter, Susan Smart of Belmont; and three grandchildren.

John Reed, formerly of Reading, South Yarmouth and Palm Harbor, Fla.
BELMONT — John Reed, formerly of Reading, South Yarmouth and Palm Harbor, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at the Belmont Manor Nursing Center. He was the husband of the late Mabel (Marden) Reed.
He was born in Malden on Dec. 6, 1916, the son of the late Horace and Alice Reed. He lived in South Yarmouth from 1956 to 1985, before retiring to Palm Harbor, Fla.
Mr. Reed was the owner of the Bass River Seafood Restaurant and Market in Bass River for many years.
He was a father to Herbert Marden of Reading; and grandfather to Johannah and Makayla Marden. He is also survived by a brother, William Reed of Hancock, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Bryan Reed and the brother of the late Samuel Reed.
A funeral service was held Jan. 26, in the Church of the Good Shepherd in Reading. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.

Esther Radonsky, 87, leaves family in Belmont
BROOKLINE — Esther Radonsky, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late Isadore Radonsky.
She is survived by a son, Stuart Radonsky and his wife Sahra of Sharon; four daughters, Bryna Kamin and her husband David of Nashua, N.H., Susan Radonsky of Belmont, Linda Radonsky and Michael Werner of Brookline, and Debra Moger and her husband Robert of Canton; a brother, Morris Spector of Stoughton; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Fanny Sneider, Rose Fink, Sam Spector, and Libby Spector.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28, from the Levine Chapel in Brookline. Interment was in Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon.

M. Rita O’Leary, 88, of Belmont
M. Rita O’Leary, 88, of Belmont and S. Yarmouth, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002. She was the wife of Spencer F. O’Leary.
Born in Boston, she was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Melrose. She was employed as a secretary for United Electric in Watertown. She lived in South Yarmouth for eight years and was a 50-year resident of Belmont.
Besides her husband, Mrs. O’Leary is survived by three daughters, Linda Rooney of Belmont, Eileen Hathaway Krell of Syracuse, N.Y. and Mary Lynch of Stoneham; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn MacIntyre, Mary Gaudreau and Loretta Sullivan and a brother, Joseph Connolly. He was predeceased by three brothers, Gerard, Francis and James Connolly.
The funeral was held from Brown & Sons Funeral Home, Belmont, on Saturday, Jan. 26 followed by a funeral Mass celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Belmont. Interment was in Belmont Cemetery.

Harry Buck Lee, 87, of Belmont
BELMONT — Harry Buck Lee, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Susan W. (Chin) Lee.
He was born in China, the son of the late Charlie Hong and Chin Qui Hai. Mr. Lee grew up in Lawrence, and resided in Methuen and Boston prior to moving to Belmont in 1961.
Mr. Lee served with the U.S. Army during World War II, enlisting in 1942 and serving until 1945 when he was discharged with the rank of staff sergeant.
Mr. Lee established his restaurant business under the name of Lee’s Yankee Dollar in Cushing Square in Belmont. He retired in 1981.
He is survived by seven children, Jefferson M., Mary A., Susan K., Penny S., Iris T., Theodore C., and Cornelius T.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Jan. 22, from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in Watertown Square. Interment was in Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury.
