Robert Cook
Robert Cook, 69, of Mashpee, formerly of Belmont, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 in Falmouth. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Restaino) Cook. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late William and Annette (Benjamin) Cook. He was employed as a purchasing agent. Mr. Cook is survived by two sons, James of Framingham and Thomas of Mashpee; a daughter, Judy Drinan of Maryland; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 23 at St. Luke's Church in Belmont. Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave., Waltham, MA 02451. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Greene Funeral Home, Belmont.
Elizabeth M. Dempsey
A funeral Mass will be held today, July 20, at 9 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown, for Elizabeth M. Dempsey of Belmont, who died July 17, 2000 at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge.
Born in Cambridge, Ms. Dempsey was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Dempsey. She was a retired school teacher in the city of Cambridge.
Ms. Dempsey leaves a sister, Ann P. Dempsey of Belmont; and a cousin, Lawrence Donnelly of Lynn.
Donations in Ms. Dempsey's memory may be made to the Archdiocesan T.V. Center, 55 Chapel St., P.O. Box 9109, Newtonville, MA 02158.

Dirk Jan Struik
Dirk Jan Struik, 106, of Belmont, died Oct. 21, 2000, in Cambridge. He was the husband of the late Saly (Ramler) Struik. He was born in Rotterdam on Sept. 30, 1894, the son of the late Hendirk and Anna (Schilperoort) Struik. Professor Struik, a professor emeritus of mathematics at M.I.T., came to the United States in 1926 with his wife to teach at M.I.T. He was the author of "A Concise History of Mathematics" and "Yankee Science in the Making." Professor Struik was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club. He is survived by three daughters, Dr. Ruth Struik of Colorado, Anne Macchi of Arlington, and Dr. Gwendolyn Bray of New Zealand; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were private. Arrangements were under the care of the Greene Funeral Home, Belmont.
Leatrice M. Grosse
Leatrice "Leah" M. (Cordima) Grosse of Waltham, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000. She was the wife of the late Eugene F. Grosse. Mrs. Grosse is survived by two sons, Gary Grosse of Townsend, and Mark Grosse and his wife Laurie (DiGiovanni) Grosse of Belmont. She was the sister of Peter Cordima of Waltham, Carmela Bonnano of Medfield, Frank Cordima of Medford, Joseph Cordima and Frances Fitzgerald, both of Marlborough, and Domenica Sofrin of Webster. She is also survived by three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Anthony Cordima, died before her. Services were held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, Belmont, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke's Church. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Mary R. Smith
Mary Rita (Fouhy) Smith, 87, of Duxbury and Gulfport, Fla., formerly of Belmont and Watertown, died Oct. 19, 2000. She was the wife of Att. Francis B. Smith.
She was the daughter of the late William A. and Anna (Mahoney) Fouhy. She was a graduate of Belmont High School and the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston.
She was a past president of the Philomethia Club Women's Auxiliary of Boston College and an active communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Belmont.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by three sons, Francis B. Smith Jr. of Easton, David J. Smith of Newton, and Paul G. Smith of Ashburnham; three daughters, Mary-Ellen Smith of Hyde Park, Martha Marston of Needham, and Maureen Horgan of Westboro; four sisters, Eleanor Duffy of Reading, A. Virginia Eberman of Duxbury, Margaret F. Sargent of Yarmouthport, and Louise E. Loser of Belmont; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Benjamin Horgan; and the sister of the late William A. Fougy Jr., Clare T. Foley, Charles L. Fouhy and Robert H. Fouhy.
A funeral was held Oct. 21, from the Stanton Funeral Home in Watertown, followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Belmont. Interment was in the National Cemetery in Bourne.

John P. Centauro
John P. Centauro, 74, of Roslindale, died Sept. 14, 2000. He was the husband of Adele (Eartbawey) Centauro. Born and raised in Belmont, he was employed as an automotive technician at Main Street Ford in Waltham where he worked for more than 30 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by a son, John J. Centauro, and two daughters, Carol Anne Fontaine and Donna M. Centauro, all of Roslindale; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Boyle of Belmont and Sara Pomponi of Watertown. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 18 at Annunciation Melkite Cathedral in Roslindale. Burial was at Belmont Cemetery. Angela J. Luongo
Angela J. Luongo of East Boston died Oct. 20, 2000. She was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Gravellese) Luongo. Ms. Luongo is survived by two nephews, Michael J. and John Salvo of Concord; and a brother-in-law, John G. Salvo of Belmont. She was also the sister of the late Mary Salvo. A funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 24, in St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church in East Boston. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Georgette A. Enright
Georgette A. Enright, 93, of Bedford, formerly of Arlington, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000. She was the wife of the late Daniel F. Sullivan and Thomas F. Enright. Mrs. Enright was the daughter of the late Godfrey A. and Anne (LaFlamme) Gingras. She is survived by two sons, Paul G. Sullivan and his wife Rita of Bedford, and Edmund F. Sullivan and his wife Kathleen of Middlebury, Vt.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Annette Berube of Tennessee, Marguerite Anderson of Lexington and Geraldine Gilligan of Belmont; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Adrienne Gingras, Rita Burns and Lorrette Coughlin. The funeral was held Saturday, Oct. 28, from the Bedford Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael's Church, Bedford. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. Christopher J. Connors
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Christopher J. Connors, 32, formerly of Belmont, died Oct. 20, 2000. He was the husband of Anne (Morrow) Connors. Mr. Connors was the son of William J. and Jacquelyn (Meuse) Connors of North Falmouth. He was a 1986 graduate of Belmont High School, a member of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony, and received an architectural degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. in 1990. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a brother, Kevin M. Connors with the U.S. Air Force in Germany. Services were held in Birmingham, Ala. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in North Falmouth. Katherine E. O'Brien
TITUSVILLE, Fla. - Katherine E. O'Brien, 94, formerly of Belmont, died Oct. 27, 2000, at the Vista Manor Nursing Home in Titusville, Fla. She was born in Belmont, the daughter of the late John J. and Cecilia (Finn) O'Brien. She graduated from Salem Normal School in 1924, and received her bachelor of arts degree in education from Boston University in 1952. Miss O'Brien was a school teacher for the Belmont Public Schools, starting in 1928, at the Homer School which is now the Belmont Town Hall Annex, and then at the Winn Brook School when it opened in 1935, until her retirement. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and a former member of the Belmont Historical Society. She is survived by a nephew, Capt. Austin C. O'Brien, U.S. Navy retired, of Florida; two grandnephews, Hugh Christopher O'Brien and Michael Sean O'Brien of Florida; three grandnieces, Karen Abbott of Florida, Lisa Sweet of Texas, and Nancy Reilly of Georgia; and seven great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. She was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters. A funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 31, in St. Joseph's Church in Belmont. Interment was in Belmont Cemetery.
