Adrienne Cusolito
Adrienne (Penney) Cusolito, 65, of Westford, formerly of Belmont and Lexington, died Jan. 20, 2000. She was the wife of Robert Cusolito. Mrs. Cusolito was a nurse who specialized in elder care. In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven children and their spouses: Adrienne and Jack Meehan of Jefferson, Maine; Lawrence and Katherine Cusolito of Gloucester; Lucia and Michael Kidney of Westford; Lauren and Ralph Franceschi-Stankowski of Westford; Robert and Cheryl Cusolito of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Richard and Susan Cusolito of Sarasota, Fla.; and Dorothy and Jack Malone of Littleton; a sister, Dorothy of Waltham; and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Jan. 24, at Saint Catherine's Church in Westford. Maria Milas
Maria (Bennas) Milas, 80, of Belmont, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000 at her son's home. She lived in Belmont since 1965. Prior to her retirement she was employed as an executive secretary for various offices including Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Mrs. Milas is survived by her son, George L. Milas of Belmont, and her godchild, Renata Watson of Cambridge. Funeral services were private. Donations in her memory may be made to the A.L.S. Association, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 150, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301. Arrangements were under the direction of the Joyce Funeral Home, Waltham.
Marie Gorgone
Marie (Berlandi) Gorgone, 57, of Winchester, formerly of Belmont, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000. She was the daughter of Anna (Santangelo) Berlandi and the late George Berlandi.
Mrs. Gorgone was employed as office manager at Winchester Optical for more than 10 years. She was also a Eucharistic minister at St. Mary's Church in Winchester.
She is survived by a son, David Dellovo of Concord; a daughter, Dorene Calvani of Stoneham; two brothers, George and Robert Berlandi; three sisters, Adrienne Sutera, Diane Accardi and Donna Cody, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from the Costello Funeral Home, Winchester, Wednesday, Feb. 2, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church.

William N. Elios
William N. Elios (Eliopoulos), 76, a 49-year resident of Belmont, died Jan. 21, 2000, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Kathryn (George) Elios. He was born in Cambridge, the son of the late Nikita and Garifalia Elios. He was a graduate of Rindge Technical School. Mr. Elios served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater as an aerial gunner on a B24, completing 40 missions. He received the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and many other medals. He was wounded on a bombing mission over Guam, but continued to man his gun and finish his mission. After leaving the service, he attended New England Aircraft School. He was employed by New England Gas Company for 40 years until he retired. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Mr. Elios was a member of VFW Waverley Post 1272 since 1958, the Captain Krombas Messenian Mutual Benefit Association, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Masonic Russell Lodge AF&AM of Arlington and the St. Athanasius Church of Arlington. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles Elios and his wife Judy of Woburn; and a daughter, Irene Elios of Medford. He is also survived by his brothers, Phillip Elios and his wife Betty of Arlington; and James Elios and his wife Vivian of Florida. He was the brother of the late George Elios and Dorothy Carabelas of Florida. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Dennis George and his wife Maureen of Pocasset, Kalliope Nicholas of Belmont; and George Dimitrakis and his wife Ann of Arlington, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral was held at St. Athanasius Church in Arlington. Interment was in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont. Arrangements were under the direction of the Faggas Funeral Home.
Frank J. LoRusso
Frank J. LoRusso, 78, of Belmont, formerly of Medford and Somerville, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Pompela (Corlito) LoRusso. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Frances (Coppola) LoRusso. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and prior to retirement was employed as a warehouse manager in the shipping industry. Mr. LoRusso is survived by three daughters, Frances LoRusso of Belmont, Maria Gavazzi of Medford and Lorraine Courtney of Concord, N.H.; a son, Joseph LoRusso of Belmont; and four grandchildren. The funeral was held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford, Saturday, Jan. 29, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boston VA Medical Center, 150 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130 or to the charity of one's choice.
Stephen H. Tholander Jr.
Major Stephen H. Tholander Jr., of Belmont, died Jan. 23, 2000. He was the son of Stephen H. and Donna (Giroux) Tholander of West Newton. He was a graduate of Belmont High School in 1982, U. Mass. Amherst in 1987, George Washington University in 1999, and was attending U.S. Army Command & General Staff College, at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Jeffrey L. Tholander of Waltham, and Eric N. Tholander of Belmont; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral was held Jan. 29, from the Brown & Sons Funeral Home, followed by a funeral mass at St. Lukes Church, Belmont. Interment was in Newton Cemetery, Newton. Martha F. Cole
Martha F. Cole, 78, of Framingham, formerly of Belmont, died Jan. 28, at the St. Patrick's Manor Nursing Home. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Helen M. (Healy) Cole. She was a graduate of Manhattan College in New York and she earned a master's degree in library science from Simmons College. Ms. Cole was employed as a librarian at several colleges. She is survived by a niece, Ledwina M. Healy of Worcester. She was also the sister of the late Helen Cole. A funeral mass was held today, Feb. 3, in St. Patrick's Chapel, Framingham. Interment was in Belmont Cemetery. For those who wish, contributions in Ms. Cole's memory may be made to the Campion Center, Weston, MA 02493. Ruben M. Quitongan
Ruben M. Quitongan, 58, of Belmont and Malden, died Jan. 16, 2000, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. He was the husband of Soledad C. (Lauzon) Quitongan. Mr. Quitongan was born in the Philippines. He was a longtime resident. He was employed as a retardation counselor at the Walter Fernald School for over 13 years. He also was employed as a CFS-clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Audie L. and Marizel L., both of Waltham, Ruth L. and Rowena L., both of Malden, Maria Teresa L. of Cambridge and Gloria Chiaramonte of Whitman; and four grandchildren. He was the brother of Joe, Willie, Alberto, Delbi Luenagan and Remy. A funeral was held Jan. 21, from the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, Belmont. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown. A memorial mass was held in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Belmont, later that day.
Michael R. Maffucci
Michael R. "Mickey" Maffucci, 84, of Belmont, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000 at Mt. Auburn Hospital. He was the husband of Virginia M. (Carlson) Maffucci. Born in Belmont, he was a lifelong resident. He was a World War II Army veteran and a life member of the VFW Post 1272, Belmont, and the Arlington Men's Club. Prior to his retirement, he was a machinist for the Navy yard. Besides his wife, Mr. Maffucci is survived by a stepdaughter, Dianne Denneen of Marshfield; a stepson, Andrew Mahon of Taiwan; four sisters, Anna DeMilia, Emily Dattoli and Eleanor Bishop, all of Belmont, and Evelyn DiFraia of Aurora, Colo.; three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Jennie DeMilia, Frances Moccia, Florence Graviua and Mary Castellano. The funeral was held from the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, Belmont, Wednesday, Jan. 26 with a funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church. Interment took place in Belmont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Grace E. Calthorpe
Grace E. (Maree) Calthorpe of Belmont died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000. She was the wife of the late William F. Calthorpe. Mrs. Calthorpe is survived by a daughter, Dorothy M. Ward of Billerica; a son, William A. Calthorpe of Chebeaque Island, Maine; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, Belmont, Wednesday, Jan. 19 with interment following in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
