BATON ROUGE, La. - Jimmie Davis, the “singing governor” who drew on his popularity as a maker of hits such as “You Are My Sunshine” to twice win election to the state's top office, died yesterday, his former press secretary said.
He was believed to be 101.

NORTHBRIDGE - The funeral service for Ivan J. Stahl, 83, of Chestnut Street, Whitinsville, who died Saturday, Nov. 4, in St. Camillus Health Center, Whitinsville, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, in Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, Cross Street, Whitinsville.
Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, in Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church St., Whitinsville.
