Katherine D. Osmond
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday January 20, 2004 for Ms. Katherine D. Osmond. Ms. Osmond was born in Waltham, MA 1 daughter of in the late Hedley D. and Darcy (Newhook) Osmond. She grew up in Watertown, graduating from Watertown High School and Katharine Gibbs School in Boston. She had been a Watertown resident for many years. She had been employed for many years as a secretary for the Watertown Electric Company formerly in Watertown Square. Ms. Osmond died on Wednesday January 14, 2004 at the Epoch of Weston Nursing Home in Weston, MA at the age of 86.
She was the sister of Edward C. Osmond and his wife Myrtle, Fred Osmond and his wife Jean, Ralph S. Osmond and his wife Grace all of Wayland and the late Hector Osmond and his wife Irene of Weston.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 – 12:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Jean E. Veronee
A Funeral Service for Jean E. Williams Veronee, 82, will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at 12 noon, in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main Street, on Rte. 20, Watertown.
Mrs. Veronee was born in Watertown, on October 12, 1921. She was a lifelong Watertown resident and a graduate of Watertown High School. Mrs. Veronee was a founding member of the Watertown Chapter of the Rainbow Girls and retired in 1988 as an employee for C & K Components formerly of Newton.
Mrs. Veronee died in Loris Community Hospital, Loris, South Carolina, on Wednesday, January 28, 2004, of pneumonia.
She leaves a daughter, Barbara J. Eldredge and her husband Detective Robert M. Eldredge (Watertown Police Dept., retired) of Calabash, No. Car.; three granddaughters: Officer Jennifer Eldredge (Watertown Police Dept.), Susan Lourie and Kristi Veronee all of Watertown; three great-granddaughters: Anna, Ava and Jenna Lourie; two brothers: John Williams of Watertown and Richard Williams of West Covina, Calif.; a sister, Janice Wilson of Cape Charles, VA.
Wife of the late Joseph C. Veronee, she was the mother of the late John C. Veronee; daughter of the late James H. and Jessie A. (Lewis) Williams; and sister of the late James Williams and George Williams of Watertown.
Calling hours will be on Monday, February 2nd from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Interment in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown, will follow the Tuesday services. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.
Herbert W. Daniels, Jr.
A Funeral Services for Herbert Warren Daniels, Jr., 94, will be held on Friday, July 30, 2004 at 11 AM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown.
Mr. Daniels was born in Hanover, N.H. on July 11, 1910. He grew up in Woodstock, Vt. and graduated from Woodstock High School. He furthered his education at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1933.
Mr. Daniels, a member of the W.P.I. Alumni Association and a Life Member of Theta Upsilon Omega Fraternity, enjoyed crossword puzzles and mathematics. He was a Mechanical Engineer for the Department of the Army and had worked at the Boston Navy Shipyard until his retirement in 1972.
Mr. Daniels, a resident of Watertown for the past 53 years, died Monday night in the Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, after a sudden illness.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Coffey) Daniels; two children: Sarah A. Fortin and her husband Paul Fortin of Kissimmee, Fla. and Robert J. Daniels and his wife Sue Daniels of Bridgewater; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Son of the late Herbert W. and Lucy (Wood) Daniels, he was the brother of the late George Daniels, Carroll Daniels and Martha Willard.

Anne E. Gacioch
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 2, 2004 for Mrs. Anne E. Gacioch (Ivanauskas). Mrs. Gacioch was born in and grew up in Worcester, MA. She settled in Watertown with her husband in the early forties and had resided there for over 35 years. She had been a resident of Wayland for the past 20 years. Mrs. Gacioch enjoyed gardening and was an avid pet lover. She died on Friday July 30, 2004 at the Emerson Hospital in Concord at the age of 84.
She was the wife of the late Stanley Gacioch, a former firefighter for the Town of Watertown and is survived by three Sisters-in-law: Helen Buczel of Watertown, Edna Gacioch of Waltham and Lydia Gacioch of No. Andover. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
A visitation will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. on Rt. 20, WATERTOWN on Monday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. John M. Lambert
A Memorial Gathering for John Martin Lambert, 61, will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2004 at 1 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown.
Mr. Lambert was born on January 31, 1943, in Petersburg, Vir., a son of Army Capt. John M. and Marion F. (Titus) Lambert. He grew up in Watertown, graduated from Watertown High School, Class of 1961, and has resided in California for the past 30 years. He was an Electronics Technician with a specialty in acoustics and had worked for many high-end, audio component companies.
He also enjoyed and participated in sport car rallying and was an avid Ham Radio operator with call numbers K1JCC. He died on Friday, July 16, 2004 at his residence in Corte Madera, Calif.
He leaves his mother, Marion F. Lambert of Watertown; a sister, Donna J. Dalton and her husband Jake Dalton of Randolph; two nieces: Wendy Olend of Fall River and Karen (Guthro) Mosman and her husband Gregory Mosman of Brighton.
He was predeceased by his father, Capt. John Lambert who was killed in action during World War II, and by his stepfather, Francis C. Lambert.

George L. Sherback
Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 30, 2004 for Mr. George L. Sherback. Mr. Sherback was born in Ramsaytown, Pensylvania, a son of the late John and Anna (Pavik) Sherback. He was a graduate of Boston College and had been employed for 38 years as a Division Leader with the Draper Labs, working on Military Guidance Systems. He also served as an Army Tech Sergeant with the 100th Bomber Group with the 349th Bomber Squadron during World War Two. He had been Watertown resident for many years, currently residing in Waterford, Connecticut. Mr. Sheback died on Monday July 26, 2004 at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut at the age of 83.
He is the husband of Margaret “Marge” (Gulvas) and father of George M. Sherback and his wife Maureen of Easton, MA, Barbara Clifton of New Bern, NC, Mary Liwski and her husband Pete of No. Stonington, CT., Richard Sherback of Silver Spring, MD and Margaret Sherback of Attleboro, MA. Also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Margaret M. Bannon
A Funeral Mass for Margaret Mary (O’Dowd) Bannon, 78, will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 in the Church of Saint Luke, Belmont, MA.
Mrs. Bannon was born on March 28, 1926, in Quebec City, P.Q., Canada. She was raised and educated in Quebec City and has lived for the past 50 years in Watertown. She enjoyed cooking and her sons said that “she made awesome chocolate chip cookies”. Another interest was gardening and was known for the many colorful flowers that she grew.
Mrs. Bannon, an avid Red Sox fan, always loved being a part of all her sons’ school and sporting events as they were growing up and being a part of their lives now. She also enjoyed traveling and was proficient in the French language. For many years she was a Lunch Aide at the James Russell Lowell School in Watertown.
Mrs. Bannon died at the Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford, Maine, on Thursday, August 5, 2004, after a sudden illness.
She leaves her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph F. Bannon, retired Assistant Headmaster at Watertown High School; four sons: Dennis J. Bannon of Boston, Peter A. Bannon and his wife Lisa of Stow, Mark W. Bannon and his wife Debbie of Middleton, Michael F. Bannon and his wife Lori of Watertown.
She also leaves four grandchildren: Joey Bannon, Emma Bannon, Patrick Bannon and Sean Bannon; four brothers: Bern O’Dowd of Montreal, Que., Frank O’Dowd of Ste. Foy, Que., Paul O’Dowd of Montreal and Mark O’Dowd of Quebec City; and two sisters: Frances Poulin and Rita Gagnon of Quebec City.
Mother of the late Paul R. Bannon, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Blanche (Lussier) O’Dowd, and sister of the late Ray O’Dowd, Madelaine O’Dowd, Jacqueline O’Dowd and Clifford O’Dowd.

Marguerite Comfort
A Funeral Mass for Marguerite Comfort, 88, will be celebrated on Monday, August 16, 2004, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.
Ms. Comfort was born on January 17, 1916, in Somerville, MA. She graduated from St. Joseph Grammar School, Somerville, and from Watertown High School, Class of 1934. Ms. Comfort was a Secretary for John J. Kelly Insurance Company in Watertown. She retired in 1994 after 42 years with the company. She died on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, in the Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, after a brief illness.
Daughter of the late James J. and Alinda J. (LeBlanc) Comfort, she was the sister of the late Lucy Menton, Redford Comfort, John Comfort, Francis Comfort, James Comfort and Hattie Alden, and the aunt of the late James Menton and Thomas Menton.
Aunt of John Menton and Hon. Paul Menton, she was also loved by other nieces, nephews and their families.

Rose Kelly
A Funeral Mass for Rose (Ilacqua) Kelly, 91, will be celebrated on Saturday, October 23, 2004, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.
Mrs. Kelly was born Messina, Italy, on March 17, 1913. She lived virtually all her life in Watertown and attended the Watertown Schools. Mrs. Kelly, a former employee of Hood Rubber/B. F. Goodrich Co, Watertown, died on Thursday, October 21, 2004, in the Emerson Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center, Watertown.
She leaves a daughter, Joan F. Kelley of Boston; a grandson, Dana Santos of Watertown; three sisters: Helene Sigleo of Alexandria, VA., Violet Panaggio of Newton and Jeanette Vogel of Watertown.
Daughter of the late Matteo and Filippa (Arico) Ilacqua, she was the wife of late John F. Kelly who had owned Kelly’s Gas & Service Station, Watertown; and sister of the late Joseph Ilacqua, Robert Ilacqua and Richard Ilacqua.

Ernest L. Ross
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 28, 2004 for Mr. Ernest L. Ross. Mr. Ross was born and grew up in Pittsfield, MA. He moved to Watertown in 1946 and founded the Ross Plumbing and Heating Company on Main St. in 1948, retiring in 1983. He had been a past member of the Watertown Rotary Club. Ernie was a boating enthusiast, enjoying many summers at Buzzards Bay on Cape Cod. He was also an avid Red Sox fan. He died on Monday October 25, 2004 at the Youville Hospital in Cambridge at the age of 94.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary E. “Betty” (Ray) Ross and his children: John E. Ross and his wife Jan of Swampscott, Paul D. Ross and his wife Jean of Woburn and Peter A. Ross and his wife Lorraine of Mary Esther, FL. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers: John Ross and George Ross and his sisters: Lillian Kassimer and Marion Ross.

Robert A. Basteri
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 for Mr. Robert A. Basteri. Mr. Basteri was born in Somerville, a son of the late Augustus and Margaret (Boudreau) Basteri. He grew up in Cambridge and was a graduate of Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge and Bentley College. During the Korean War he served with the U. S. Army from 1950-1952. Mr. Basteri had been employed for over 30 years as a Financial Analyst with the General Telephone and Electronics Company (GTE), retiring in 1990. He was a Past President of the Watertown Youth Hockey League and spent many years as a Little League coach in Watertown. Mr. Basteri died on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at his residence at the age of 76.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine M. (Guggina) Basteri; his children: Patricia Vincent and her husband Kenneth and Susan Hoban and her husband Michael all of Watertown, Anne Beals and her husband Alan of Felton, DE and Robert Basteri and his wife Anne of Northboro. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Lauren and Christopher Vincent and James, Joseph and Paige Basteri.
