Mary F. Kindler, Art teacher

Mary Frances (Barnes) Kindler, 87, of Wilmington, formerly of Lynn, died Oct.6 in a local nursing home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Karl Kindler.
Born and raised in Lynn, Mrs. Kindler was the daughter of the late Victor and Julia (Holland) Barnes. She lived most of her life in Lynn before moving to Wilmington recently. Mrs. Kindler was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1930 and received her bachelor of science degree from the Massachusetts College of Art. She worked for more than 30 years as a supervisor of art in the Nahant school system and as an evening school art teacher at Classical High School until her retirement in 1979.
Mrs. Kindler was also a member of the Massachusetts Teacher's Association, a Lynn Union Hospital volunteer and a communicant of our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield. She and her husband traveled extensively through Europe and Asia.
Mrs. Kindler is survived by: two daughters, Lark Dupont and her husband, Joe of Beverly and Linda Priest and her husband, Barry of Bedford; sister, Theresa Fee of Lynn; and two grandchildren, Melissa Dupont of Beverly and Jay Dupont of Andover.
Arrangements were by Solimione, Landergan and Rhodes of Lynn.
Eileen M. Williams, Active at St. Margaret's

Eileen M. (Donovan) Williams, 88, died Oct. 8 at Blueberry Health Care in Beverly following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Charles S. Williams.
Born in County Cork, Ireland, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late many Mary (O'Brien) Donovan. She lived in Beverly Farms for many years, was a daily communicant of St. Margaret's Church and very active in church affairs.
Mrs. Williams is survived by: her son Peter Williams and his wife Patty of Wenham; four daughters, Cathryn Parker and her husband, Chuck of Virginia Beach, Va., Day Ann Kelley and her husband, Dick of Beverly Farms, Carol Bensing and her husband, Tim of California and Virginia Shaw and her husband, Jerry of Texas; a brother, Jerry Donovan of Milton; and two sisters, Julia Wright, of Ireland and Sister Eugenius, member of the Convent of Mercy Sisters in Ireland. She was also the mother of the late Charles S. Williams who died in 1996, and sister of the late Margaret McNamara.
Funeral services were held from the Campbell Funeral Home, Beverly on Oct. 11, followed by funeral Mass at St. Margaret's Church of Beverly Farms. Burial was in Beverly Farms Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in her memory to Sisters of Notre Dame Retirement Fund, 54 Jeffrey Neck Road, Ipswich, MA 01938.
Evelyn M. Oxton, Family ties to Beverly

Evelyn M. (Thomas) Oxton, 75, died Monday in the Beverly Hospital at the age of 75. She was the wife of the late Phineas Oxton.
Born in Concord, Vt., Mrs. Oxton was the daughter of the late Carlyle and Margaret (Rainey) Thomas. She was an active member of the Garden City Towers Association.
Mrs. Oxton is survived by: two sons, Bruce R. and Peter D. Oxton, both of Beverly; two daughters, Brenda L. Sidmore of Melrose and Ann M. Oxton of Beverly; three sisters, Alice M. Howell of Beverly, Laura York of Brockton and Eleanor L. Sabino of Florida; a brother, Carlyle W, Thomas of Beverly; six grandchildren, Christopher W., Daniel A. and Jeffrey Sidmore; Michael S., Scott R. and Eric J. Oxton; a great grandson, Jeffrey T. Sidmore Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Ruth M. Harriman and Floyd W. Thomas.
Her funeral service was held today in the Lee, Moody and Russell Funeral Home, Beverly. Burial was in North Beverly Cemetery.

Helen C. Demers, Telephone operator

Helen C. (Burns) Demers, 97, formerly of Salem and Danvers died Oct. 9 in the Blueberry Hill Health Care of Beverly. She was the wife of the late Lucien S. Demers.
Born and raised in Beverly, Mrs. Demers was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Dunn) Burns. She received her education in the Beverly school system and resided in Salem before moving to Danvers 20 years ago.
Mrs. Demers had been employed as an operator for the former New England Telephone Company for many years. A communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Danvers, she was a member of the Woman's Sodality, the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Railroad Yardmaster's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Demers is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Joan Demers of Topsfield; three grandchildren, William and his wife Susan Demers of San Diego, Calif., Kevin and his wife Pauline Demers of Raymond, N.H. and Gregg and his wife Cathleen Demers of Topsfield; five great-grandchildren, Shawn, Marc, Megan, Baxter and Benjamin Demers; a sister, Marguerite Cavanaugh of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Marion Lee and John Burns.
A funeral Mass was held this morning in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Danvers. Assisting the family with the arrangements was the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, Danvers.

Jacoba Moore, Family ties to Beverly

Jacoba "Cobie" (Sixma) Moore, 89, formerly of Deerfield and Bedford, N.H. died Sept. 28 at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Beverly. She was the wife of Hilton H. Moore, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mrs. Moore lived in Montclair and several other locations in New Jersey before moving to New Hampshire. She resided at Oceanview at Ellis Square in Beverly with her husband.
Mrs. Moore attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and practiced here artistic craft as a hobby. She was employed as district clerk for the Board of Education in Pequannock, N.J. as well as other secretarial positions including one at the Gill School in Bernardsville, N.J.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Moore is survived by: a daughter, Nancy A. Strunk (twin sister of the late Linda R. Hockman, Mrs. Richard P. Hockman, who died in Bedford, N.H. in 1997) and her husband James from Hamilton; a son, David F. Moore and his wife Mary W. T. Moore of Mendham, N.J.; nine grandchildren, Terri Lynn Hockman Byerly of Londonderry, N.H., Liane T. Hockman of Manchester, N.H., James P. Hockman of Manchester, N.H., Andrew M. Elmeer of Hudson, N.H., Eric P. Hockman of Hugo, Minn., Tracy E. Fessler of Huntsville, Mo., Heather E. Williams of Madison, Wis., Keith D. Moore of Greencastle, Pa. and Scott K. Moore of Flemington, N.J.; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church in Beverly on Oct. 8. Arrangements were by the Lee, Moody and Russell Funeral Home, Beverly.

John B. Wilson Jr., Family ties to Beverly

John B. Wilson Jr., 57, of Beverly died Oct. 4 at Beverly Hospital.
Born in Ipswich on Oct. 9, 1942, Mr. Wilson was the son of John B. Wilson of Essex and the late Catherine B. (Morrisey) Wilson. He was also the stepson of Priscilla (Shaw) Coe of Summerfield, Fla.
Mr. Wilson was born with cerebral palsy and had resided at the Walter E. Fernald State School in Belmont for more than 40 years. His last two years were spent living in a group home in Beverly under the care of Turning Point.
He was an avid sports fan and recently enjoyed camping at Oceanwood, Maine. He also enjoyed coming to Gloucester to watch the boats.
In addition to his father and stepmother, Mr. Wilson is survived by: three sisters, Gloria Jean Lashley of Salem, N.H., Shirley, wife of Kenneth Herdman of Gloucester and Ronda L. Wilson of Beverly; a brother, Dana W. Wilson of Milton, N.H.; an aunt, Florence Coe of Gloucester; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Jay B. Wilson.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 7 from the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, Gloucester. Committal services were held in the Spring Street Cemetery, Essex.

Joseph F. Buckley, Native of Beverly

Joseph F. Buckley, 88, died unexpectedly Oct. 8 at Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of the late Josephine E. (Tynan) Buckley.
Born in Beverly, Mr. Buckley was educated in Beverly Public Schools and had lived in Beverly most of his life. He was employed with the Eastern Massachusetts Street Railway Bus Company for 10 years and was also a printer at the Broadway Print Shop in Beverly for 14 years. He retired in 1974.
Mr. Buckley is survived by: two sons, Thomas Buckley and his wife Irene of Beverly and Daniel Buckley and his wife Donna of Lynn; two daughters, Kathleen Tamilio of Beverly and Maureen of Buckley of Danvers; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Campbell Funeral Home, Beverly, this morning, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, at 11 a.m. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly.

Lucette M. Holloran, Formerly of Beverly

Lucette M. (Beliveau) Holloran, 87, of Salem, formerly of Beverly died unexpectedly Oct. 8 at her residence. She was the wife of the late John Holloran, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, Mrs. Holloran was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helene (Gagnon) Holloran. She was a graduate of Salem High School and had been a resident of Beverly for 35 years before moving to Salem 13 years ago.
Mrs. Holloran was employed with Hytron in Salem as an assembler. She was also employed with Hot Watt in Danvers.
She is survived by: her brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Mabel Beliveau of Beverly; one cousin, Lillian Hebert of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Herve and Laurie Beliveau.
Funeral services were held from the Campbell Funeral Home, Beverly, this morning, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Beverly. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
Richard A. Campbell, U.S. Coast Guard

Richard A. Campbell, 69, of Nokomis, Fla., formerly of Beverly died Oct. 10 in Nokomis. He was the husband of Judith J. "Judi" (Johnson) Campbell, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
Born in Salem and raised in Beverly, Mr. Campbell attended Beverly High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He was a publishing sales representative for 20 years. Of the Catholic faith, he was member of the Venice, Fla. Elks Lodge 1854.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Campbell is survived by: a brother, Donald J. Campbell of Hamilton; uncle, James Connolly of Beverly and Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held in Florida. Arrangements are in the care of the Ewing Funeral Home, Venice, Fla.
Memorial donations may be made to the local chapter of hospice.
