B. William D'Giacomantonio, 58; worked in real estate development
B. William D'Giacomantonio of Wellesley died June 11, 1997, at his home. He was 58.
Born in Newton, he was a graduate of Wellesley schools and Northeastern University.
Mr. D'Giacomantonio was president of Wilben Real Estate Development Corporation of Framingham.
He is survived by his wife, Mary J. (Gill) D'Giacomantonio; five children, Cheri E. Tate of Waltham, William C. D'Giacomantonio of Washington, D.C., Dianne M. D'Giacomantonio of Marlborough, Elizabeth M. and Andrew J. D'Giacomantoni of Wellesley; his mother and father, Carmen and Marguerite (Renzella) D'Giacomantonio of Dennis and Boynton Beach, Fla.; a sister, Beverly C. D'Ortenzio of Wellesley; and a granddaughter, Nicole Gulbankian of Marlborough.
A funeral Mass was said in St. Paul's Church, Wellesley, on June 14. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. Arrangements were by the George F. Doherty and Sons Funeral Home, Wellesley.

Elena P. McConologue, 78; active in St. Paul Parish and Girl Scouts
Elena P. (Simoni) McConologue of Wellesley died June 17, 1997, in Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 78.
Born in Newton Upper Falls, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Cesarina (Minelli) Simoni.
She earned a general associate's degree from Massachusetts Bay Community College in Wellesley.
A resident of Wellesley for 50 years, Mrs. McConologue taught Sunday School for St. Paul Parish, was involved with the Girl Scouts, and was a member of the Citizens for Life.
She and her husband, Henry G. McConologue, would have celebrated their 50th anniversary in November.
Besides her husband, she is survived by six children: Joan M. McConologue of Manchester, N.H., Janet M. and Paul C. McConologue, both of Rochester, N.Y., Brenda A. Schwartz of Los Angeles, Calif., Charles G. McConologue of Ashburnham, and Brian A. McConologue of Wellesley; a sister, Josephine Caruso of New Jersey; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held tonight, June 19, from 7-9 at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St., Wellesley Hills. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, at 9 a.m. in St. Paul Church, 502 Washington St., Wellesley.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Marguerite M. Deem, 69; retired admissions officer at hospital
Marguerite M. "Margo" (Merrill) Deem of East Falmouth, formerly of Wellesley, died June 11, 1997, at the Center for Optimum Care of Mashpee after a short illness. She was 69.
Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late N. Delmont and Florence (McGowan) Merrill. She was raised in Wellesley and graduated from Wellesley High School in 1946. She also studied voice at the New England Conservatory of Music.
She moved to East Falmouth from Fort Devens in 1963.
Mrs. Deem was admissions officer at Falmouth Hospital for 23 years before retiring in 1990. She was a former member of the Falmouth High School Band Parents and the Parent-Teacher Association at local and state levels. She was a parishioner of Saint Patrick's Church, Falmouth, and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her husband of more than 49 years, Charles M. Deem; four children, Karen E. Souza and Lori Burridge, both of East Falmouth, Deidre Whitcomb of Norwood, and Larry Deem of Charlton; two brothers, Andrew Merrill of Las Cruces, N.M., and Edward Merrill of Westfield; a sister, Susan LaBucki of Westfield; eight grandchildren; several nephews and a niece.
A memorial Mass was said in Saint Patrick's Church on June 17. Burial was in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Falmouth. Arrangements were by the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, Falmouth.

Nance A. Clerkin, 93; great-grandmother; formerly of Bronx
Nance A. (Fitzsimmons) Clerkin died June 14, 1997, at the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley Hills. She was 93.
Before moving to Wellesley Hills, Mrs. Clerkin had resided in Riverdale, Bronx, N.Y., for many years. She was the wife of the late Eugene Clerkin.
She is survived by two children and their spouses, Marguerita C. and Anthony C. Howkins of New York and Dr. Eugene P. and Nancy L. Clerkin of Wellesley; four grandchildren, Eugene J. Clerkin of Bedford, Brian A. Clerkin of Pipersville, Pa., Lucille A. Clerkin of Watertown and Kathryn McVane of Wollaston; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Paul's Church, Wellesley, on June 17. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, N.Y. Arrangements were by the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home, Jamaica Plain.

Priscilla C. Fleming, 84; active in Christian Science churches
Priscilla (Carter) Fleming passed on at the Chestnut Hill Benevolent Home in Brookline on June 12, 1997. She was 84.
Born in Wollaston on Jan. 6, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Ashton and Florence (Porter) Carter.
She graduated from Wellesley High School in 1930 and received a bachelor of science degree from Simmons College in Boston in 1934.
For many years Mrs. Fleming served in branch Christian Science churches in various capacities, including first reader, president, director and clerk.
She married Edward S. Fleming in Wellesley Hills on April 18, 1936, and they recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Besides her husband, Capt. Edward S. Fleming, USN (Ret.), she is survived by two sons, Stephen W. Fleming of Victor, N.Y., and James N. Fleming of Palm Bay, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Flemings have resided in various locations including Wellesley, Weymouth, Virginia Beach and Falls Church, Va., Honolulu, Hawaii, Fort Washington, Md., Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Foxboro, Gettysburg, Pa., and most recently Macedon, N.Y.
Interment services will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. Arrangements are by the J.S. Waterman & Sons-Waring Funeral Home, Wellesley.
Richard J. McCarthy, 65; longtime resident; active at Boston College
Richard J. McCarthy of Wellesley Hills died suddenly on June 7, 1997, in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 65.
Born in Dorchester, he was the son of Charles R. and Marion E. (Manning) McCarthy.
He graduated from Boston College and received his master's degree from Babson College.
A resident of Wellesley Hills since 1953, Mr. McCarthy had worked for Babson Reports and Bay State Computer Co. He had formerly been a director of production control for C.F. Hathaway Shirt Company in Lowell.
Mr. McCarthy was a member of the Hull Yacht Club and the Boston College Varsity Club, and was a manager of the Boston College baseball team.
He leaves his wife of 29 years, Mary H. (Hughes) McCarthy; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated by E. Corbett Walsh, S.J., in St. John the Evangelist Church on June 11. Interment was private. Arrangements were by the Henry J. Burke and Sons Funeral Home, Wellesley.

Alice M. McCourt, 85; longtime resident, St. John's parishioner
Alice M. (FitzGerald) McCourt of Wellesley died June 4, 1997, at St. Patrick's Manor in Framingham. She was 85.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Joseph and Alice M. (Ryan) FitzGerald.
She attended Notre Dame Academy, Roxbury, and graduated from Newton Country Day School in 1929 and Regis College in 1933. She was a social worker for Catholic Charities until her marriage in 1937.
Mrs. McCourt was a resident of Wellesley and a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish for 73 years. She was the wife of the late Philip B. McCourt.
A daily communicant of St. John's, Mrs. McCourt was involved for many years in parish activities. She was a member of St. John's Sodality, Book Club, and Legion of Mary, as well as a CCD teacher. She also volunteered as a Meals-on-Wheels deliverer.
She is survived by four children, Philip B. McCourt Jr. of Waltham, Sr. Alice M. McCourt, S.N.D., of Brighton, Joan L. Flanagan of Needham, and Michael G. McCourt of Wellesley; and three grandchildren, Coleman M. Flanagan of Needham and Emmaline and Deirdre McCourt of Waltham. She is also survived by a brother, Robert FitzGerald of California; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy FitzGerald, Julie FitzGerald, Barbara FitzGerald, Jackie FitzGerald and Rita McCourt; and a brother-in-law, Patrick J. Hegarty. She was predeceased by five brothers, Joseph A., William E., the Rev. Paul A., S.J., Lawrence, and Thomas D. FitzGerald.
A funeral Mass was said in St. John's Church on June 9. Arrangements were by the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, Wellesley Hills.

Gretchen S. Miller, 92; former bookkeeper with Babson Reports
Gretchen Shaw (Curtiss) Miller of Medway, formerly of Wellesley, died June 4, 1997, in the Columbia MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham. She was 92.
Born in New York City on Nov. 15, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maud (Davis) Curtiss.
Mrs. Miller had lived in Framingham and Wellesley for many years before moving to Medway two years ago.
She had been a bookkeeper for many years with Babson Reports of Wellesley until her retirement.
The widow of Robert Gardner Miller, she is survived by a son, Robert C. Miller of Honolulu, Hawaii; two granddaughters, Linda Miller Foster of Medway and Lisa Jianzo of Mendon; and two great-grandsons, Nathan L. and Geoffrey N. Miller-Foster, both of Medway.
A funeral service was held on Monday, June 9, at 10 a.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, Medway. Burial was in Mt. Marion Cemetery, Saugerties, N.Y.
Kathleen W. Ashburne, 76; longtime resident, former fashion artist
Kathleen W. (Walser) Ashburne of Wellesley died June 10, 1997, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 76.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Adele R. (Ladner) Walser.
She was a graduate of the Vesper George School of Art in Boston and was a fashion artist.
Mrs. Ashburne was a resident of Wellesley for 36 years. She was a former member of the Wellesley Woman's Club, the Antique Glass Club, the National American Glass Club, and the St. James Women's Guild.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Ashburne; three children, John J. Ashburne of Darien, Conn., Richard S. Ashburne of Wellesley and Mary Elaine Ashburne of Somerville; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Olivia Ashburne of Darien; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Ashburne of Darien; a brother, Robert J. Walser of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and a sister, Marguerite Adele Fitzgibbons of Dewitt, N.Y.
Visiting hours are today, June 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the George F. Doherty and Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., Wellesley.
A funeral Mass will be said in St. James the Great Church, Wellesley, on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham.
