William A. Morse
William A. Morse, of Braintree, a custodian, died suddenly at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on November 22, 2004. He was 50.
Mr. Morse was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He had been a resident of Braintree for several years and was a former longtime resident of Boston.
He was a member of the building maintenance team at Delta Projects in Needham.
Mr. Morse was the beloved brother of Hattie Mae Jones of NC, Leonard of Dorchester, James of Mattapan, Jesse of Dorchester, Shirley of GA and the late Mary Stokes. William also leaves his loving cousin Reba, his housemates and friends from Delta Projects and a host of relatives and friends in the Boston area and in Florida.
A Funeral Service will be held in the J.B. Johnson Funeral Home 196 Warren St., Roxbury on Wednesday, December 1 at 12:00 Noon. Viewing will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00.
Visiting hours will also be held in the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (Off Hancock St.) Quincy Center on Wednesday from 3:00-6:00 PM.
Margaret Rusell (Howell) Locke, age 86 died of heart failure November 11, 2004 at Hancock Park Nusring and Rehabilitation Center in Quincy.
Mrs. Locke was born Dec. 1, 1917 in Cambridge, England, the daughter of the well known Boston socialite Margaret Howell, founder of the Margaret Howell, Inc. and granddaughter of Massachusetts Governor William Eustis Russell.
Educated in England and the US, she married Henry Weideman Locke in 1941 and lived most of her married life in Cazenovia, NY.
Mrs. Locke leaves her children Charles Holyoke Locke of Syracuse NY, Edward Warren Locke of Braintree, MA Sally Locke Scholl of Hingham, MA and Pricilla Russell Locke of Healdsburg, CA.She is also survived by her brother Charles Dawson Howell of Westwood, MA, 5 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on December 18, 2004 in the Middlesex School Chapel in Concord, MA . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of PO Box 265 Boston, MA 02117.

Veteran Joseph A. Maciejko, a retired employee of the U. S. Postal Service and Army Veteran of World War II, died unexpectedly at Milton Hospital on Sunday, January 30, 2005. He was 77.
Born in Boston, Mr. Maciejko was raised in Dorchester and lived there for many years. He attended the Boston public schools.
Mr. Maciejko served in the United States Army from 1946 – 1947.
He worked in the plant maintenance department at the General Mail Facility of the South Postal Annex in Boston. He served the postal service for 40 years before retiring in 1999.
The beloved son of the late Andrew and Annie (Ziemba) Maciejko, Mr. Maciejko is survived by six sisters Mary Narus of Glenside, PA, Anne Jurusz of Quincy, Jean Hughes of Falls Church, VA, Victoria Kostowski of Needham,, Angela Mickiewicz of Braintree, Caroline Waga of Willow Grove, PA; a brother, John Maciejko of Jamaica Plain and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Veronica Maciejko and Nora Szymaniak.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary Church, West Quincy on Thursday morning at 10:00. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery
will follow the Mass.

Carolyn Louise Madden
Carolyn Louise (Arnold) Madden, age 83, of Quincy died Wednesday, January 19, at her home after a long illness.
Mrs Madden was a former nurse at Waldo County Hospital in Belfast, Maine and at Mass General Hospital in Boston. She also worked at the Bargain Center in Quincy, MA and the Fruit Center Marketplace in Milton, MA.
For ten years Mrs. Madden was a volunteer for the United Teen Program at the Bethany Congregational Church in Quincy.
She was born in Brewer, Maine, August 31, 1921 and lived in Stockton Springs until moving to Boston in 1945.
Her husband Joseph Albert Madden died in 1982. She is survived by her three sons Joseph R. of New Carlisle, IN, Marvin F. of Rockland, MA and Michael S. of Weymouth, MA and her daughter Carolyn L. Madden of Quincy, MA. Her son Daniel S. died of SIDS in the early 50's.
Mrs. Madden is also survived by her sisters, Priscilla Bishop of Falmouth, ME, Pauline Petipas of Quincy, MA, Mary Arnold of Stockton Springs, ME and Elizabeth Collar of NC, 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and 1 aunt. Her brother Roy Wesley Arnold died in WWII.
Services will be private.

Oscar J. April
Oscar J. April, a retired researcher for the United States Army and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, died following a long illness on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the Weymouth Healthcare Center. He was 90.
Born in Plympton, Oscar lived most of his life in and around the South Shore including many years in Quincy. He was a graduate of Middleboro High School and the Boston School of Anatomy, Sanitary Science and Embalming.
After receiving his diploma in embalming, Oscar worked with the Russell Funeral Home in the Wollaston section of Quincy. He remained there until he enlisted in the United States Navy.
Upon enlisting in the service, Oscar became a pharmacist's mate and medic. He served at Naval Hospitals in Chelsea and Portsmouth, VA before being assigned to a U. S. Marine Corps unit as a medic. He served with the Marines during the liberation of the Phillipines.
In addition to his service in the Navy, Oscar also worked as a civilian researcher at the U. S. Army Laboratory in Natick. He served there for many years and actively participated in the research and development of many military and scientific innovations including space suits and ready-to-eat foods for the U. S. Space Program.
In his free time and following his retirement, Oscar enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid striper fisherman and hunted black bears, deer and other animals including a bobcat.
Oscar also held a Ham Radio Operator's license. His call sign was K1F0L.
Beloved husband of the late Lydia (Adams) April, Oscar was the devoted and caring father of Joe and Judy April of FL and Jim April, QFD and Debbie Russo of Weymouth. He was also a fun 'Papa' to his grandchildren Eric, Jenny, Jill, Heidi, Brian and Nicole and his great-grandchildren Holton and Cannon. Oscar's sister, Alice Hall of Cape Cod also survives him.
Oscar's Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St., Quincy on Tuesday morning at 9:00. Interment with Military Honors will follow the Mass in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Janice M. (Rogers) Kelcourse
Janice M. (Rogers) Kelcourse, age 86, of Quincy, MA, on March 8, 2005, passed away peacefully at her home after a long illness. Beloved wife of the late Russell L. Kelcourse. She is survived by her four sons; Russell E. and his wife Signe of Laconia, NH, Edward J. and his wife Judith of Weymouth, MA, Lawrence M. and his wife Rebecca of Amesbury, MA, Robert L. and his wife Olga of Safety Harbor, FL; two daughters, Helen Mohan and her husband Thomas of Holbrook, MA and Nancy Pilalas of Quincy, MA. Also survived by nineteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including Cheryl Brown of the home address and her daughter-in-law Dolina Kelcourse of Boca Raton, FL.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Kelcourse was employed for many years as a payroll bookkeeper for Grossman Companies in Braintree, MA. She took part, as a volunteer, in numerous medical research studies at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Tufts University Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Mrs. Kelcourse was an active member for many years with the South Shore Centers for the Blind, The Braintree Images, The Catholic Daughters of America and The Simon of Cyrene Society at The Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville. She enjoyed dozens of close friendships with the members the blind groups, volunteers of these organizations and her surrounding neighbors.
Mrs. Kelcourse had a wonderful voice and, being legally blind, did not let it keep her from singing at any given opportunity. She especially enjoyed her time with her family and singimg with, and for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and relatives.
Having spent more than forty-five years living next to the salt water marshes of Rock Island Cove in the Hough's Neck section of Quincy, and the destination of hundreds of family gatherings, this was her favorite place on earth. Mrs. Kelcourse looked forward to spring and summer, when she would be working on her garden, planting while "barefoot". She could always be found at home either on her favorite lounge on the sun deck or in the garden and always enjoyed the abundant sea birds and wildlife around her home.
A Celebration of Jan's Life will be held in the hall of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Holy Trinity Parish 237 Sea St. Quincy on Saturday, March 12 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM.

John McLaughlin
John McLaughlin, a retired 22 year veteran of the MBTA, died at his home in Quincy on Wednesday, February 24, 2005. He was 71 and had endured a long illness.
Born in Boston, Mr. McLaughlin was raised in the city's Charlestown section and was a graduate of Charlestown High School. He also lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Quincy where he had been living since 1982.
A retired member of the Boston Carmen's Union Local 589, Mr. McLaughlin served the MBTA both as a driver and as a member of the Maintenance Division for 22 years. At the time of his retirement, he was working from the Arborway garage in Jamaica Plain. Prior to joining the T, Mr. McLaughlin had worked for Stride Rite Shoes at the company's Roxbury plant.
The husband of the late Terry (Corbett) McLaughlin, the beloved mother of their four children, Mr. McLaughlin was also the devoted father of Jack of SC, Patrick of Saugus, Mark of Hanover and Scott M. McLaughlin of Scituate. He was the beloved "Grandpa" of Kristen, J. Patrick, Kylie, Patrick, Kelley, Shane and Kara McLaughlin and the brother of Mary Devlin and Josephine Ward both of Charlestown, Francis McLaughlin of NH, Helen McLaughlin of Charlestown, Ann Doherty of Malden and the late Rita Feeley.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (Off Hancock St.) QUINCY CENTER on Monday morning at 11:00. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the service and visiting hours, which will be held on Sunday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.

Laura B. (Lutes) DeCristofaro
Laura B. (Lutes) DeCristofaro, of Quincy, a retired Parking Control Officer, died suddenly on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Boston Medical Center. She was 78.
Laura was born and raised in Quincy. She was a 1946 graduate of Quincy High School and just this past year served as the chair of her 60th class reunion. She succeeded her late husband and classmate Jim DeCristofaro who had been instrumental in organizing previous reunions and she memorialized him with flowers at the event.
She and three other women were the first individuals hired by the City of Quincy to serve as Parking Control Officers or “meter maids”. She went on to serve 26 years in the position.
Laura was an active woman who enjoyed volunteering at the 1000 Southern Artery Senior Citizen Housing where she lived. She also enjoyed spending time at her summer home in Littleton, NH and in later years, traveling to Florida for several weeks each winter.
She was a former member and Past Prefect of the Ladies Sodality at St. Joseph Church in Quincy.
She was the loving wife of 58 years to the late James A. DeCristofaro, the devoted mother of Paul J. DeCristofaro of N. Easton, Linda A. Marani of Halifax, Robert J. DeCristofaro of Braintree, David F. DeCristofaro of Rockland and Joan M. Dunne of Walpole, the special “Nana” to her grandchildren Gregory, Lynn, Jennifer, John, Jeffrey, Jodi, Nicholas, Damara, Danette, Egan, Brenna and the late Ann Marie and her great-grandsons Evo and Matthew and the cherished sister of Marie Hultin of Rockport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church on Wednesday morning at 10:00. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mary C. (McDonald) MacDonald
Mary C. (McDonald) MacDonald, of Weymouth, a homemaker and former secretary died at her home on Thursday, February 1, 2007. She was 74.
Mary was born and raised in Quincy. She was a graduate of Quincy High School.
Following high school, she worked as a secretary. For several years, she worked with the Estabrook Company in Boston and then with Glazon Sales in Quincy.
Mary was a loyal, family-centered person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a gracious hostess and talented cook who enjoyed entertaining in her home especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also enjoyed creating ceramic pieces with her late sister Pat and her nieces and getting together with her friends from high school for an excursion to the Foxwoods Casino.
She was the beloved wife of 37 years to Det. Lt. Neil F. MacDonald, QPD – Ret., the loving mother of Kerry A. MacDonald of Weymouth, the loving “Nanny” to Dianna Hemingway and the loyal sister of Frank McDonald of Lakeville, John McDonald of Weymouth, Tom McDonald and Philip McDonald both of Quincy, Susan McDonald of Dorchester and the late Patricia Petitti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Church, West Quincy on Monday at 10:00. Burial will follow in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
